Thick coconut gravy. Smooth thick beehoon. Spicy balachan chili. Fresh ingredients. A perfect bowl of Laksa. Since there's a legacy on the laksa sold here along east coast road, joo chiat, it is time to check that out. There's 2 shop selling the same laksa, so... I decided to choose the one with further down the street. What was serve to me really pleased me a lot. The bowl is filled up with all my favorites I've listed and the smell of it is.... heavenly. Add more chili if you think the original bowl is not up to your spicy level. The gravy thickness is just nice, not too thick if not it will hard to drink. As usual, i drink all the gravy down at the end. It is good! continue reading

The FoodI ordered the Katong Laksa served in ceramic bowl, with the thick bee hoon cut to bite size hence no chopsticks required as just have to scoop the bee hoon with the spoon. The portion is quite little with few slices of fish cakes, 3 pieces of cockles and 2 sliced prawns. The gravy was one of it's kind, more to a peranakan lemak style, with added evaporated milk,it was not very thick just nice, but had a very rich taste that went very well with the noodles. The PriceReasonably priced at $3.00 per bowlOverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this! continue reading

Had the authentic katong laksa for supper! However, the service there is terrible probably because business is way too good. The thick bee hoon with slices of fish cakes and prawns and sprinkle of laksa leaves. The thick bee hoon has a QQ feel which is nice to consume. The gravy is not too spicy and it is just nice for my stomach. Although I am not a laksa lover but I would truthfully recommend this laksa to everyone. continue reading

There are a few laksa stalls around the area, my friend prefer this stall to the others and thus we settled with 49 Katong Laksa stall along this famous street for laksa. The thick Bee Hoon was short and you can eat it with a spoon. The laksa soup was flavourful and had a generous portion of coconut milk added. The laksa comes with prawn, cockle and its very fragrant. The chilli and herbs was served on a spoon, you can decide the spiciness with the amount of chilli to add to your soup. You can also get the otak from the coffee shop to go with your laksa. continue reading

I love laksa with noodles that are short, and able to eat just by using spoons. It is alot easier and tidier to eat without splattering on your shirt. The soup was nice and think, with coconut milk fragrant, and the chilli was good too and i would recommend you adding it to your bowl of laksa. It was not too spicy for me. The laksa is not really a big bowl so you can order otah or rojak that are available too to fill yourself up or to share with others. continue reading
