Desserts Time!

Food
Another visit to my favourite dessert shop in Jurong West!

Ice Kachang
I called it the spinning Ice Kachang as the metal plates and bowls as base can be easily spinned. Happy shades of rainbow colours on the ice kachang brings joy in eating. Having a heap of small finely cut ice on the icy cool bowl is wonderful. T
Cost : S$1.70

These colorful syrups are generally sweet in taste, cover by a layer of condensed milk.

What lies beneath the ice mountain are the cream of the crop, with attap seat, grass jelly, milky corns, red bean, jelly etc.

Ching Tng is my top favorite item from Kim Lotus. I will order this without fail for my every visit. Why? I simply loves the melting flaky ice on top of the pool of ching tng, a way to pamper oneself over this refreshing bowl of dessert.
Cost: S$1.70

Ingredients are generous too, at least you can see logans, jelly, pong da hai, tadpole jelly, barely grains etc.

Glass Jelly Drink is additional for the night as my pal was pretty thirsty after a workout. Cubes and cubes of big cuts grass jelly were sucked out from the drinks and out of it, I managed to grab the seed from the red date. Sweet enough and the packaging is good for people on the go!

Cost: S$1.70

Service
Notice that they have placed queues barriers now. In the past, we have issues in queuing up (not knowning the starting and ending point of the queues), now that the setup of barriers had led us to a neater queue, great! The auntie doesnt really communicate much but instead she dive into her work making the queue a fast moving one.

Ambience
A neat and oriented shop with ample of seating in and outside, suitable for a chit chat session to catch up with friends. Moreover they have a mounted TV at one corner which allow customers to enjoy their dessert while watching local television programs.

Price
The price maybe expensive than the usual desserts but their portion and quality has well explained it.

Recommendation / Tips
Be early, initially I wanted to order Honey Dew Sago but its out of stock when i'm there about 8.30pm.

Food
Decided to go for something cooling due to the hot weather. As usual, I ordered my favourite Cold Cheng Tng. Super love the finely cut ice. I always feel very happy after drinking this ice cooling tng! The spoon and the dish is all metal and one can really enjoy the coldness while having it.

Ice jelly with lime is quite sour. With ice jelly as base topped with a mountain of ice. We are given a lime to add some sour taste to it. Jelly is soft and bouncy. However I find it abit sour after adding the lime. Overall it tastes good!

Service
Self service but service is quite fast.

Ambience
Well furnished shop after renovation. Now it has taken another shop unit, Kim Lotus is more spacious. However, the seats are still not enough due to its popularity, even on a weekdays!

Price
Acceptable pricing.

Recommendation / Tips
Anything that comes with the fine ice mountain is good.

Bor bor cha cha
Smile 2011-05-28

My favourite dessert shop of all time.
Reasonable pricing and awesome desserts.
My favourite dessert is bor bor cha cha.
(I had a few encounters of desserts shop serving unfresh yam in the bor bor cha cha)
Kim lotus desserts never disappoint me, their yam and sweet potato in the bor bor cha cha taste sweet and fresh, and not cooked till too soft.

Other than bor bor cha cha, I've tried their chendol, ice kacang, ice jelly cocktail and almond jelly with longgan. All are good!
