Alright Jap Buffet
Just OK 2013-04-18

Jap buffet at reasonable price of $19.80++ during weekdays for adults. They have an acceptable variety of food, sushi, sashimi, desserts, tempura, pizza, etc, all that you can think of for jap buffets. They replenish the food quite often, so you can expect piping hot tempura whenever they run out of it. The environment is also conducive, although they have a kids corner, not a lot of kids were there during weekdays.

Average buffet at affordable price
Just OK 2013-04-07

Kiseki is a Japanese buffet, but the surprising thing is they do serve other cuisine like western.
The cold dishes like the sushi and sashimi are pretty limited, with only salmon sashimi and tuna sashimi available.
Certain shell food like mussels and snails are available too, but very little as well.

The quality was alright only. The salmon sashimi was again very thickly sliced.

The chawanmushi was not bad though.

Overall, for a price of $19.80++, the food fits the price but aren't great either. I guess it really depends on how much you are paying.
There was a long queue if you didn't make a reservation though.

Came here for my mum birthday celebration,we made reservation, but me & my friend reach first,so we told them,my mum & sister will arrive later, they wanted us to write down their phone number,i wrote my sister number but they insist that we need to write down both ,i was wondering as they coming together what for i need to write down both of their number?
They have quite a lot to choose from,seafood,sushi,western,dessert.....
I tried their black curry which was quite unique,it's tasted the same as those brown curry but it's black curry, cheese scallop was nice, but others like prawn, sushi was not very fresh,
for dessert they have quite a lot of small cakes, but it just tasted average
Overall a lot to choose from but food wise is just average

KISEKI Japanese Buffet
Smile 2013-02-20
Decided to head down to KISEKI Japanese restaurant the other day to celebrate my dad's birthday cause their lunch buffet is really cheap as compared to other buffet. Also, they have large range of choices, and all so delicious! I really love their sashimi and ice cream (comes with special Japanese's flavor such as sesame, green tea). It's a must try when you visit. I will always go for their dessert first cause it will run out fast!

A really nice environment and you can even have your seats 'outdoor' (there's air-con so not really considered one, but you will get a better view mad )

One of the highlight of their buffet is you can customize your own pasta! Choose your ingredients and they will cook it for you. chopstick So do try out!

Steamed Egg
Smile 2013-02-17
This japanese buffet restaurant has been always so crowded and filled with long queues during weekend meals' hours. Decided to check it out during weekdays' lunch and was glad the crowd is lesser as well. The wide ranges of food here is simply so much that you will be at lost on what to eat. My favourite is their japanese steamed egg, which is very smooth and light in texture, not too salty and totally good for all age group of people. But would be better if more ingredients other than the sliced mushrooms can be added in it as well.

The dinner buffet was really good so i decided to try their lunch buffet. of course it was much more cheaper and therefore the variety is lesser as well. however, I managed to chiong a lot of their raw salmon. their raw salmon is really good, it simply melts in you mouth. this is because it was just so fresh. i went for numerous rounds for it. The pizza was really good, the crust is not too thick so it would not be so filling. i think the lunch buffet is good enough for me!

My girlfriend suggested we try Kiseki Japanese Buffet Restaurant for our month-sary after she heard her friends rave how good it was. The price was quite reasonable for a weekday dinner price, still cheaper than those hotels buffet. The spread was quite good though I was rather disappointed I did not see raw oyster at the seafood station, but nevertheless that did not dampen our moods. The sashimi is really fresh, it simply melts in your mouth. I recommend their teppanyaki prawns, it is really good, the meat is so succulent, very crunchy. their dessert counter was not too bad too, they even have mochi. Quite worth it.

Girl’s night out

Girl’s night out at Kiseki Japanese Buffet Restaurant. It was my first visit there and I am certain it is not going to be the last. Despite the name of the restaurant, they do not only have Japanese food in the spread. In fact, they also have international food like steak, rosti and waffles. However most of their variety is Japanese food. Their sushi is very unique, coated brightly with the Japanese seasoning however, it does taste a little spicy. They also have seafood too, I like their flower crab, it was so fresh and the meat was so succulent and sweet. the waffles is a must eat when you are there, there are so many toppings for you to eat with. I think this is one of the best buffet around.

Japanese Buffet with some misses
Just OK 2013-01-03
At 1130am, just before the restaurant was opened, you can spy a long queue for the walk-in customers. For customers who have reserved prior today ( you need at least 3 days in advance), there is also a queue.

Situated on the 8th floor of eighth floor, one can have a paranormal view of Orchard area with the french windows. The whole place was bright though the downside of sitting in the 'porch' was how my table was just underneath the air-conditioning. My piping hot food (teppanyaki) and drinks turned cold quickly which spoil the dining experience. Therefore it is important to request to sit somewhere, away from the air-conditioning.

I absolutely love the garlic fried rice, each mouth is so flavourful as you can taste the rich flavour of the garlic. The chawanmushi was served with a generous portion of crabmeat, japanese fishcake and ginko nut though my friend felt that the chawanmushi was not very smooth.

I ordered the pork belly shabu-shabu and I love this dish the most! The pork belly was tender and the fats in between was little and it goes very well with a small bowl of rice. The portion of vegetables was generous too! A nice soupy dish to have especially after eating all the other more flavourful dishes. The vegetable tempura (Long bean and eggplant) is very oily ( a bit of a miss) and the chicken skewers is really a huge disappointment. The meat is not juicy and the sauce is not marinated evenly. The sotong ball skewer was also a tad too hard to chew.

The prawns are fresh though as they are very sweet as well as the other seafood. The sashimi is also fresh and be warned that it is a very popular choice for most patrons and there are many instances that one is greeted with empty plates are the buffet table.

I really love the desserts! It is important to head to the table early as the popular items such as the in house special toufu cheesecake was no longer refilled when I headed over for my second round. I love the black bean mousse as well as the puddings (mango and lime)

The ice-creams are also a hit! The sesame and the greentea and yuzu flavours are my favourites! There is a very nice scent of sesame (not overpowering) and the yuzu flvaour is very refreshing! really a nice complement with the greentea flavoured ice cream

The waffle I feel is fluffy and nice and I love the toppings! especially the yuzu flavoured topping!

All in all, I feel that the desserts are more of a hit especially the interesting Japanese snacks like mochi( Japanese sticky rice cake). I was intrigued by the grilled salmon fish heads but unfortunately they were not refilled. Same with the porridge too. Even though the variety of the food was really great yet the huge crowd also equally meant that most of the food( especially the more popular ones like sashimi and the in-house specials) were often snapped up quickly and the busy kitchen was often unable to serve out on time. Service was good too as our plates were often cleared quickly, though it sometimes came to the point that when we stopped eating and there was still food left on the plate, the plate was too quick to be cleared. Nevertheless good job for efficiency! will i go back there again? perhaps!

mega spread with some hit and misses!
Smile 2012-10-24
For a full story coverage, please visit:
http://www.epinosh.com/kiseki-japanese-buffet-restaurant-singapore/

I am not a typical fan of buffet-style meal but I am happy to have it once in a while. And specially when the group is large, I can rest assured that each of them will find something fanciful among the 8 self-help stations. This is achievable, given the mega spread Kiseki is offering. Not sure if its a blessing, but close to 40% of the range are non-Japanese cuisines. While the Japanese dishes still make up the majority, I am one of those weirdo who only eye for that fluffy looking deep pocketed batter cake resting on the iron rack. For all you know, I am dotty about waffles.

   waffles

In my view, a buffet feast equates a marathon participation. Just as the gun sounded, I find myself derailed and taking shortcuts to the finishing line – dessert station. There, my eyes are fixed at the lady behind the waffle maker, counting the number of waffle wedges she is dishing out and eye balling frantically for condiments for a switch up. Fresh fruit dices -nope. Candy rice – nope nope. Jellied puddings, mochi and Daifuku – nope nope nope. Until I reached the chilling box with 6-8 flavours of gelato – yes; black sesame, green tea & vanilla checked. Then that chocolate fondue drizzles – again marked! They are invited to join me at my table.

Not to worry if waffles didn’t wow you, there are bite-size green tea azuki and cheese cakes to make you smile too.

After the off-track, I joined the rest on the official route – pacing up and down the counters, examined each food items closely. I picked a few sizable tempura from the Agemono sub-section – ebi, kani stick & yasai (broccoli), all tasted fresh and crunchy of which, I liked the vegetable most. Okay, crowned me a vegan if you like.

Then slightly to the right, there are Teppanyaki & Robatayaki where you find monstrous grilled salmon fish heads, shishamo, baby tender chicken teriyaki sticks and grilled plumply shitake mushrooms. Towards the end of the row, I ordered some wok fry assorted vegetables, mostly bean sprouts with a few stringy choy sum – not bad though I’d prefer marche’s. My girlfriend ordered a portion of Teppanyaki pork collar in ginger sauce which I thought was pretty delicious, moist and very tender, not fibrous and the seasoning was just right. The cook done it better than the garlic beef steak which tasted leathery. Oh, please bring along those table-numbered mini file clips found on your table when ordering so that the wait staff could send the food when it’s ready.

Walk around the bustling see-through kitchen, another row of food items revealed. At the left-hand corner, you could order Italian pasta of 3 choices – Wafu vinaigrette dressing, creamy carbonara or konkase tomato sauce; alternatively, pick up a ready thin-crust pizza with teriyaki chicken, Japanese curry or seafood toppings. Potato-goers could give the Rösti a shot, its shredded surface was pan-roasted to crisp but it lacked that robust buttery flavour I used to know.

Stroll along and you get to reach out to more fried items like potato ebi rolls, cheese crab balls, seafood Croquettes, Haru Maki (spring roll) seafood. Next, I flipped open the steamer cover and help myself to the hearty winter dish – Japanese oden with plentiful of squishy quail eggs, fish cakes with hidden popping fish roe, perfectly stewed daikon, glutenous konjac (greyish starch corms) and the most delightful Kinchaku pouch - deep fried bean curd wrapped with fish cake. I enjoyed the light soy sauce broth that makes everything taste homely.

While I skipped the egg plants and roasted chicken, I took a bite on the Japanese curry udon placed along the next counter. I am glad that the udon didn’t taste overly soggy but the curry seasoning was a bit loud, somewhere didn’t fare quite right. I heard the pork shabu ramen did better. Well, I was unlucky then.

You may want to try out Chawanmushi or Tamagoyaki in the bamboo tray plus a bowl of steaming hot seafood soup. Or simply walk to the adjacent counter for some cold seafood selections – chilled prawns & mussels or clams, salads, soba, sushi and sashimi.

With so much to offer, what else could make my people über happy? I don’t know.

This is really a value for money buffet. There are many stalls preparing different kinds of food ranging from sushi&sashimi, hotpot, pizzas, pasta, egg omelete, fried stuff, appetizers, desserts etc. The drinks are also free flow. The best part of the buffet is having unlimited servings of sashimi and the tempuras. I love the crunchy prawns hiding behind the cripsy batter. Also, be sure to try their tofu cheesecake and some other cakes which they have and do not replenish!

the cute and crispy sinful fried stuffs

They have a wide variety of food, which is really really worth the money. The rosti is good too with the sour cream, just slightly oily. The omelette is sweet, just that those on Tamagoyaki sushis and i loved it! The grilled stuffs are fantastic too, especially the prawns. The teriyaki chicken was well flavored and tasty.

japanese buffet
Smile 2012-07-03
It has shifted from its original place at Heeren to Orchard Central just barely a month ago and I eagerly waiting to try it out at its new location. The food types remains unchanged, with different sections available. The dinner buffet probably has more offerings than the lunch. I had the lunch buffet and there is the salad section, japanese cold noodles section, teppanyaki section, pizza/pasta section, sashimi section, sushi section, hotpot section, tempura section, dessert section and drinks! As you can imagine there is really a wide variety and the food is pretty good as well!

I love the sashimi cuts of fatty salmon which are fresh and firm to the bite. Other of my favourite stuff are the tempura prawns which are sweet and crunchy. There is even the spicy tempura version, but I stuck with the normal once because the spicy one is more saltish than spicy. Not forgetting the chawanmushi which is also one of my favourites with the silky smooth custard.

The pizza is also worth trying, but be sure to take it when you see the chef dishing it out on the plate, because a warm pizza is definitely more delicious than a cold pizza. The desserts are also quite substantial, though I was hoping there could be more varities because some of the better desserts are not replenished. The tofu cheesecake that I had was delicious and I am glad I took two becuase I don't see it again after that when I went for my second round. With the affordable price tag of $19.90++ for weekday lunch, it is definitely worth a visit.
