This is quite a popular stall. The standard has dropped. The portion has also been downsized. For $4, it is not cheap either. The soup has also become more bland than before. Their chilli was good though. It added extra flavour and complemented the mutton meat well. It was only mildly spicy though. The meat was "thinner" and thus I could not really feel the tenderness. Not recommended. continue reading

Visited this mutton soup stall at its new location. I am not a fan of mutton soup but i tried and enjoyed the mutton soup with rice from this chinese stall. The mutton has got no mutton smell nor overpowering herbal taste. It served with a good amount of shredded meat in the herbal-ish soup. A special chilli is provided to go with the mutton soup. The spiciness for the chilli is just right. This bowl of mutton soup goes well with the rice. continue reading

This stall has moved. It has moved to 209 Jalan Besar, right at the corner of Sam Leong Road and Jalan Besar. The stall is located in the same coffee shop with the Da Jie Famous Wanton Noodle. If you have went looking for the stall at their old address and gotten disappointed when realised the stall is no longer there then you would be delighted to know that this stall has been found once more. We chanced upon this stall when going for the famous wanton noodle on a Saturday. I recognized the Auntie first and their signboard confirmed that this is the stall that went missing earlier. I am never a fan of mutton soup but this mutton soup has been one of the nicest that i ever tried. Their mutton soup has no trace of overpowering mutton smell or herbal taste. A good portion of shredded mutton was given with a full bowl of soup. And, a single refill is allowed if your soup is not enough. They have this clearly stated right in front of their stall. The chilli sauce enhanced the overall taste and it went really went with the white rice. We enjoyed it pretty much. continue reading

Had another bowl again recently, the standard is just as good. Tastes as good without having rice along. Saw some old uncles eating their rice by pouring the dark sauce onto the rice like no tomorrow. Could see that 80% of their rice was black. Don't dare to try it like this continue reading

As usual, my boyfie and I are on our weekend hunt for food. Well, i am on the hunt. He is always the one recommending.Since we are around bugis area, he decided to bring me to this mutton soup stall. He loves mutton soup but not so much for me. I don't really like the mutton smell. However, I love the mutton soup from this stall and has been asking him to bring me there ever since that time. There is no stinky smell. The soup taste great! Clear and yummy. The mutton is tender with slight softbones which gives it a crunchy texture. Delicious! The stall is situated at a not so significant place and run by a group of friendly aunties. It just under went renovation and thus is cleaner and has more seats available(although there isn't alot of seats still). continue reading
