We LOVE Kyo-Nichi. There is no ++! It's all net! Amazing! We hate ++ charges! It's easy to find, near Sushi Tei and it's new and clean. It doesn't seem to be crowded - maybe people haven't discovered it yet.Everything is reasonably priced and Citibank cards get a 10% off.The staff are from China and not very friendly or well-versed, btu they do understand what you're ordering and they try to be helpful and they are polite, efficient and fast.We had free flow green tea, which you have to ask for or they won't give to you. The green tea came in a porcelain cup, which was good becasue at Shin-Sapporo they gave it to you in a plastic cup which took forever to cool and the plastic tasted weird. It's hard to find fault with this place! It's spacious, tidy and well-priced. Plus the food is VERY good!We always get the Ramen and this time we had chawanmushi as well. There's nothing on the tables except chilli powder and disposable wooden chopsticks. The serviette is the wet type which we didn't like to wipe our mouths with because it tasted like soap. And you're not charged ++ for the chopsticks or serviette! Imagine that! What more can you ask for?The chawanmushi is great. Super smooth and very silky. But unlike Hoshigaoka's chawanmushi, there's no surprises in the chawanmushi here. It's just egg and a few bits of prawns/seafood at the bottom. But it is super smooth. There doesn't seem to be MSG used here since we never feel thirsty or sick afterwards. you can choose your soup in thick, spicy, normal, and you can add extra bits if you want. Everything is well-seasoned and the soup is properly boiled so you don't get sick from drinking the whole bowl of it. We got sick drinkign the soup at Hoshigaoka's because their soup wasn't boiled for long enough to breakdown the fats.We always feel so satisfied and happy after dining at Kyo-Nichi. It's just so perfect! The noodles here did not clump together and were super bouncy! And they were generous with the other bits in the bowl. And definitely no over-charging here! Prices start from $10 for a BIG bowl of ramen! Spicy or thick soup and other bits will cost you $1 to $3 more.Highly recommended! continue reading
