I'm totally a fan of this store! Whenever i crave for a good bowl of Ban Mian i will come here. Their Ban Mian is simply delicious. The soup, ikan bilis, minced pork, chilli, and slightly thicker noodles create such a good blend of fresh flavors! Even i saw Japanese coming to this store frequently! Hahaha.. So its a must try! continue reading

Here, there is the usual noise level of a busy hawker centre. I ordered ban mian, which I promptly received after payment. A friend introduced me this stall when we met up here. I wanted to check out what the hype was about. The presentation was neat and upon my first sip and mouthful , the taste was very refreshing and hits a soft spot in the taste buds. I'm not a fan of spicy foods so I can't comment on the chilli. The ikan bilis was crispy as long as you don't drown it into the delicious tasting soup. continue reading

I am quite a fan of handmade noodle and the ban mien from this stall is the second best that i have tried so far. The first has to be the famous stall at Whampoa Food Centre. I was there in late afternoon and the stall was manned by a lady all by herself. I ordered a basic bowl of ban mien. The nicely cooked ban mien was served in tasty soup with ingredients like a poached egg, minced meat and a handful of vegetable. The ikan belis added just before served. This bowl of delicious ban mien tasted very healthy as no amount of MSG is detected. It tasted best if eaten with their special chilli. This bowl of ban mien is definitely worth coming back for. continue reading

This particular stall ever appeared once on a local TV programme (排排站查查看2). The hosts from this TV programme were interviewing their customers on their reasons for queuing up for their bowl of noodle at this stall. Most of these customers agreed that soup was good and fresh ingredients used. According to that TV programme, long queue is anticipated during lunch, dinner and weekends. I happened to be in this food centre and i have to satisfy my curiosity by trying out the noodle. I was there at about 4.30 pm, even during their off-peak period, orders still kept coming in. I waited for about 10 minutes to get my order. First sip of the soup managed to convince me this is one of the better bowls of handmade noodle around. The soup was flavorful and somewhat refreshing with a noticeably sweetness derived from the ikan belis, pork bones and soya bean etc. The noodles are handmade on the spot though it was slight thicker but it was still rather smooth in texture. The ingredients like the nicely seasoned minced meat and lean meat as well as vegetable were remarkably fresh. The chilli is amongst the nicest, the spiciness though a little numbingly but it gave the added punch to the noodle and the soup. If you like it spicy, you might want to add the chilli to your soup. It was a comforting bowl of noodle. Highly recommended. continue reading
