One of the best fried carrot cake (white) can be found at the Ang Mo Kio Central Market & Food Centre. The carrot cake itself is soft and is well covered with egg – this combination is perfect as it is crispy around the edges with a nice fragrant eggy flavour! The picture below is of the $4 serving size and comes with sambal chilli which goes well with the carrot cake.

Tried this amazing fried carrot cake at the Food Expo! This is, definitely, by far the best fried carrot cake I've tasted so far. They are very innovative too, they have about 10 different fried carrot cake flavours (flavoured using seasoning powder). My friend and I got the Nori Seaweed Flavoured Fried Carrot Cake. First bite into it, I was blown away by the fragrance. The egg in it enhanced the flavour, bringing the carrot cake to the next level (really, it's very delicious!). On the downside though, flavour of the nori seaweed wasn't really present. Otherwise, this is perfect!

Those residing in Ang Mo Kio are probably very familiar with this popular carrot cake stall at the hawker centre in Ang Mo Kio Central that only sells the white crispy version. It is located next to my favourite drinks stall (read my previous review here) that serves up one of the best home-made ice lemon teas. Carrot cake + ice lemon tea = BLISSWhat I like about their carrot cake is that every slab is generously enveloped in eggs. The exterior is pan-fried to perfection while the interior remains soft and moist. This stall makes and steams its own carrot cake instead of using factory-made ones. A hefty amount of chye poh (preserved radish) is also used so every bite boasts of a nice eggy flavour with a lovely crunch from the salty radish bits. The home-made special chilli paste has the right amount of spice and goes really well with the carrot cake. I just like breaking the slabs into smaller bits and mix them up with the chilli and spring onions. Best of all, this is not overly greasy as compared to others. Vegetable oil is used here which is a healthier alternative. This carrot cake is definitely worth trying!

Went to Singapore Food & Beverage fair today and came across this stall selling carrot cake except that it offered 10 different flavors! All the extra flavors they add seasoning powder for the taste. The uncle and aunty at the booth was really nice and friendly. They recommend the original flavor but I like seaweed so I ordered carrot cake with nori seaweed. My first bite and I could bite and taste the chai po. Crunchy, salty and just so yummy with the egg and carrot cake. The carrot cake wasn't oily and the salt level is just nice. Couldn't really taste much of the seaweed but who cares when the carrot cake is so delicious! I'll definitely go AMK to find this stall.

I ordered a plate of crispy carrot cake at $3. The portion is quite generous and the carrot cake & eggs smell very nice and looks nice too! This stall serves carrot cake in generous portion of eggs and main focus is the crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. The owner even set up stall during the Singapore Expo Food festival but the price is much more expensive. I rather buy & eat at hawker center. Even though there is a long queue when I ordered during weekends but I waited for about 10 mins hence their service is quite fast! As for the chilli, taste normal to me. I prefer to eat without the chilli as I can taste the original version of carrot cake ! Overall, is a must try for all crispy carrot cake lovers!
