Despite being very skeptical about voucher deals, I am still addicted to buying vouchers. So here I am at Little Nonya because of my voucher spree! And yes, this has got to be one of the better food deals. The food is really quite good except for the cabbage roll. Delicious Ayam Buah Keluak! Love the gravy, goes very well with rice. I think this is the babi pongtehThe Kiam Chye Ark - Salty Duck soup is not bad too, tasty but not too salty. This is the dish that spoil it all! Dislike the coconut based gravy. Personal belief is that if you want to have a coconut based dish, you need to use either fresh coconut or if not a tried and tested brand that does not have that weird smelly smell of stale coconut. I am not sure if you get what I mean but.. uh well... Fresh coconut is important. This is a simple but delicious dish! continue reading

You must never forget to order the chendol here for your end meal dessert if you happen to come here. This chendol here is really nice in presentation and also taste equally delicious as well. Lots of soft big red beans, longlish green jelly, coconut seeds, cubes of colourful agar agar are part of the ingredients in it. But the most important ingredients which make it taste so good is the generous amount of brown sugar syrup and thick coconut cream used in it. You will surely be craving for more after your first cup of it. continue reading

Little Nonya Express is hidden down the road which is both good and bad. Good because it is not as crowded so you can pop by as and when as a regular customer and don't have to worry that there's no seat for you. Bad because it is not accessible. We went there specially to try their curry fish head and it was not what I expected. The fish freshness is not an issue just that I am not too impress with the curry because I always thought Peranakan food are the best but not really so...Mee Siam neither win any score, it is ordinary. But when we saw the tables beside us having hot plate dishes, the fragrance smell nice and they seems to enjoy their food. Thus, I conclude it depend on what dishes you order. The Chendol here is one you will die for! You just can't stop digging! There were 2 ladies who walked in specially to take away the Chendol from Little Nonya Express! That's how amazing it is.I will still come back if I am near by to try out the hot plate dishes. continue reading

My girlfriend and I have a soft spot for peranakan food. It is simply too delicious. whenever we head to little nonya express, we would definitely order the peranakan dishes. this time we ordered the babi pong the. It is their traditional stew pork. The way they stew the pork is really delicious. very soft and tender. the gravy is a little salty, but when you eat with rice, it is just right. We ordered their nyonya chap chye. I like the way they cook the vegetable, it is braised till it is so soft. the gravy is so tasty. We ordered the nyonya curry assam. It is so good, very sourish and sweetish. Indeed appetite whetting. continue reading

I have driven pass this stretch of road for a few times but never spotted this shop. And thanks to my mother in law for introducing this shop to us. As the name implied, the shop serves nyonya food and the serving was really fast. Dishes were served minutes after we made the order. Out of the 4 items that we ordered, I like the fish head curry and the chendol. The flavours of the curry is very balanced. It is sweet and not as tangy as other fish head curries. The last item that was served was Chendol. It left me with a very strong impresssion as this is so far the best Chendol I have eaten. The chendol is very refreshing and the quality ingredients do set it apart from the other chendols around. In fact, the ice is coarse , which I like it that way. This allow the ice to melt slowly in your mouth , and dilute the rich taste of the chendol, so I do not feel so jialat after eating. Definitely a must try item. continue reading
