Long John Silver's

I can hardly remember the last time when I had LJS (Long John Silver). I came to know of LJS during my school days as they are known of their delicious crunchy tasty fried food, especially its trademark fish shrimp and chicken.

Every piece was hand-dipped into their secret batter and cooked 100% with canola oil, thus the yammy crunchy food from LJS! Packets of sweet spicy Chilli from LJS had make the fried food additionally tasty. I was surprised to see that they have discontinued giving away chilli packs to customers and instead they gave us disposable saucers to pump the sauce from the station.With Coleslaw added on at S$1.60 with any meal purchased. Coeslaw are no longer scoop onto the plate with together with the meal and was served separately. Standards had dropped drastically as it was dry, quality and quantity cannot matched their previous standards.Breaded Chicken with curry sauce and lemonade. Sauce is sweet tasting and quite close to Japanese curry rice. Breaded chicken is not juicy enough. Food are acceptable and of average standard.Golden Deal 1 : 3 Pcs Chicken with Cripsy Fries & Cokie/Sprite at S$5.60.
I was disappointed with the chicken, meat isnt as tender as expected, there isnt any chew and most probably the meat had been kept frozen for long. We cant really differentiate if it is fish or chicken by the bite.Great Value: Fish with Cripsy Fries & Coke/Sprite at S$4.50.

Who can ever forget their times in army? I certainly cant!! Life was good sometimes and other times... not as good...

This was one of the good times... When i was on half day leave some of my friends and i after duty will come over to chill out and dine at Long Johns silver.... haha

This place was a standard routine if i ever took off after duty.

Most times i would order the standard golden deal 2 which would consist of the 1 pc fish, 1 pc chicken and fries... as for the sides, i would usually order extra rice as the night before i wouldnt have anything much to eat. so yea i usually get that..

The service staff is very prompt and very attentive.. Clean environment and back then as a NSF... I would spend around $6 or slightly more because of the rice.

The fish batter was slighty tough not crispy at all, also it was cold! The fries helped a bit in the overall tasting but the fish was totally disappointing. I had a hard time trying to finish the overpriced fish.This potato wedges tasted really bad! Some wedges were tough and uncooked, while some were overfried. The cheese that accompanied tasted like cheap cheese and was quite tasteless actually. This is a total waste of money!

They had a value meal at $4.50 for a two-piece chicken set meal or 1-piece fish meal. I felt I needed more food that day so I opted for the 2-piece chicken meal. The meal came together with fries and a drink. Everything was fresh, just fried. The chicken was still smoking hot when I sliced it into pieces. Their fries had a crisp, slightly different from the macs golden fries, but I enjoyed it more. I asked for more crumbs and they were quite generous with it. The meal was quite heaty and I was glad there was a cup of coke that came with the meal.

Combo 1 with two pieces of chicken. I always think that Long John is the nicest restaurant that serves good tasting food and the portion is huge. But now, I believe their portion has shrunk and they give lesser crumbles. The chicken is still as tender as before. With the crispy layer of golden yellow skin and flour mixture and the soft and hot chicken meat inside, the whole piece of chicken is superb.

The cajun chicken meal at long john silver is very tasty. Cajun chicken were always well marinated and cooked.It can be rather salty too, but as long as it is nice, it doesn't matter. It comes with rice and their some sort of potato chip. I don't like their rice as it taste quite different and bland. You may wish to change it to fries. Do request to add on an extra cheese at an additional cost. It is really good!

I used to be quite a fan of LJS but nowadays, I feel that their chicken has shrunk.... the price goes up but the size goes down. Anyway, I'm still a fan of their fries!! However I will go there just for their fries. Went at 10pm, the crew still served us properly and even waited for us to complete our meal slower. We were the 2nd last couple in the whole LJS at 10.30pm.

well long john sliver's fish are really nice

just sadly it is much smaller than it used to be.. however i still like the fish and it's batter as it taste the same

this time i tried their breakfast with my friend

their bread are coated with egg.. it is nice~ and it has stuff wrapped inside..

we can choose different type of filling as listed on their menu~

their coffee smells nice!

This is a great fast food lunch combo. There's a good mix of meat- a piece of chicken and 5 shrimps with fries. The only thing that is missing is salad. I love LJS's fries. They still have the authentic potato flavour and is fried very differently from the normal fries from Macs. Their shrimps are also very flavourful. Together with the drink, this meal can be quite filling!

Long John Silver is having this $4.50 meal, I ordered the combo with chicken, fish and fries. I changed the drink to ice lemon tea, which requires additional top up of a few cents. Although from the picture, it looks like the serving is not very big but it is indeed fulling.

18th of October was the day Long John Silver's gave a whole battered fish for free, with any purchase amounting to $5 and above, which I thought I should give it a try, since I was with my friends, and we couldn't decided what to eat anyway I made use of the coupons that LJS gave me and my friends, which I chose the old favourites like the battered fish and chicken, with a good serving of LJS fries, which I enjoyed, but something that really fills you tummy! Also, I suppose it could do with less oil, as the whole plate was smothered in oil after eating.

Special Grilled Dinner for two: two Cajun grilled chicken with rice = $10.40 .however, this offer does not come along with drinks. The nacho is superb! But I have to pay an additional cost of $0.50 - $1 for the nacho cheese. The chicken is very tender and the fish is soft inside and crispy outside.

Long John Silver! I ordered the Mango Fish Wrap while my sister ordered the Grilled Cajun Chicken set for lunch. Although the lunch time queue was really long, the food served was of quality and we were pleased with it. The Mango Fish Wrap is super yummy and the portion of mango was really generous! Would definitely be back for more! Go Long John Silver!

Long John Silver's breakfast sets are quite popular among my friends. I had yet to try the sets until that day when I felt like eating a special breakfast! Did not want something too heavy with fillings (with ham, egg, etc.), so I opted for the french toast set, which came with a milo (at an extra charge). The french toast was sprinkled with cinnamon at the top which made it very tasty. The bread was not too soggy and it was at the right crisp! The toast was thick and was well cooked, no burnt parts. I enjoyed the breakfast set and would come back for more in future!

Long john silver's chicken planks are probably the cheapest main they offer. It is covered with thick floury crust, which my brother loves because it is very crunchy. I personally do not like how much flour was used for the crust. The taste of the chicken is pretty inconsistent. Sometimes if I'm lucky I get moist and soft chicken and if i'm not that lucky, it'd be dry and hard chicken.

It is my favorite main next to long john silver's cajun chicken and i do recommend it if you're looking for something inexpensive from long john silver's.
