Today some of us is treated to a food tasting lunch for the company's upcoming Chinese New Year lunch.Prosperity Yu Sheng with Salmon Fish Yusheng鱼生 a Teochew-style raw fish salad, which usually consists of strips of raw fish (most commonly salmon), mixed with shredded vegetables and a variety of sauces and condiments, among other ingredients. It is a dish usually one must have during Chinese New Year, as yusheng is considered a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigo...

I really enjoyed our first visit to Man Fu Yuan as their quality of food was outstanding (albeit a couple of slips here and there) and their service level, commendable. Although the menu was on the pricier end, the overall ambience and dining experience justified the cost. Siew Mai ($6.80++) Topped with fresh scallop and fish roe, the Siew Mai was tastefully prepared. The firm yet texture was a delight to savour. One of the must orders here! Beef Ball ($6....

How much the prices of mooncakes drop after Mid-Autumn Festival. So if you're just looking to satisfy your mooncake cravings and not as a gift for your friends/relatives, you can actually choose to buy the mooncakes after the festival itself. From a price of $40+ per box, we got our mooncakes at only $15 (for 4 mooncakes)! lol What a great deal, eh? This is the Double Yolk Mooncake, 4 pieces per box. The lotus paste is very very luxuriously thick, smooth,...

My uncle has passed to me a piece of this man fu yuan mooncake when I visited him on this afternoon. It was a complimentary gift from starhub to his company. Before I taste it , I can really smell the nice lotus fragrant from it. The first bite was really good, which it is not too sweet and the white lotus paste was really smooth and moist which is not too dry. The baked skin was not overly baked which is fragrant and not too hard as well. The egg yolks are decently good...not too dry...

I'm pleasantly surprised by Man Fu Yuan's mooncake offerings this year, especially with their Green Tea Paste with Dragonball Jasmine snowskin mooncake. Embodying the true essence of the Mid-Autumn Festival is when you have a mooncake boasting of a paste that glistens with a silky emerald shade bearing semblance to green jade, and subtly enveloped by a layer of smooth ivory skin that echoes the luminescence of white jade. The delicate fragrance of Jasmine enthralls the...

Went on a Friday afternoon to takeaway liu sha bao for the weekend for breakfast. The place was quite empty for a lunch. I have been eating their liu sha bao since i worked at Raffles Place which is about 4 years now. It is the most accessible place for me as the rest of the better places are quite out of the way, while some places dont allow takeaways for liu sha bao, sad isnt it. Also takeaway luo mai gai (glutinous rice wrapped in tea leaves) and it is the bomb! It is so terr...

The restaurant had setup a stall first floor at the main door of InterContinental Hotel. The small little stall sells a variety of buns and dumplings. They offered their char siew bao, big bao and their custard lava bun. There were also a number of different dumplings or lotus leaves wrapped glutinous rice as well, believe was extended from the Dragon Boat festival. White fluffy bun with delicious roasted pork at $1.50 a bun. Note that since it is near Mid Autumn festival...

My mum read about Man Fu Yuan’s 17th Anniversary Special promotional menu in the newspapers and the next moment, we were booking a table for lunch the next day. Man Fu Yuan is celebrating its 17h Anniversary this August and they are offering 17 of their signature dishes for just $17+ each. Each dish comes in a one person portion, but $17 for delicacies such as shark’s fin, lobster, sea cucumber, abalone… is just a good deal! But for some reason, we ended up orderi...
