This place seemed to be run by Korean owners, however, the food didn't taste like it. The portions are small, with each dish costing around $10-15 on average. While this is cheap for Korean food in Singapore, I have tasted far better at a similar price. However, the service was pretty quick, and our food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. Now the food:First of all, the complimentary kimchi was quite flavourless and mushy. This was also evident in the kimchi jiggae, which seemed to rely on its spiciness to mask the fact that their was a lack in kimchi flavour. The pork used tasted like canned pork, and there was such a lack in vegetables and glass noodles, it ought to have been marketed as a soup, rather than stew. The $10 portion of bulgogi without glass noodles is quite small, what I would consider to be half the size of a regular plate of bulgogi elsewhere. To make it quick, it was a small plate of cheap meat that lacked the signature bulgogi flavour. All in all, I would not recommend this place. continue reading

I told my friend, Miss Sharyl Poh that Manna Story is a Korean restaurant, which serves authentic Korean cuisine. Instead of eating dessert, we walked over to have a queue in front of that dessert store just now. The food was tasty and tastes so fresh. The place has good ambient and good services. I liked their house decorations and it gave me a feel like go back to kindergarden school or korean friend's house with a very homely and cosy atmosphere.Although the waiting time for the restaurant seat is a bit long, it worth to queue up just because of the food. When both of us looked at their menu, we found out that they have an extensive Korean menu. After that, we decided to try their set lunch because it is until 4.30 p.m.I was surprised when the service crew served Minute Maid White Grape instead of Mirinda Grape because can drinks usually cost much than the machine dispensed drink.Their set lunch menu had Kimchi Jjigae and it came with rice and the side dishes. Steamed rice was served in stainless steel bowls and typical Korean stainless steel. My friend ordered the 김치볶음밥 (Kimchi Fried Rice) for herself, whereas for me, I ordered Spicy Pork Cutlet.A generous portion of pork cutlet and spicy, which really enhances the flavour of the otherwise plain pork. continue reading

For full review: http://uniquelious.blogspot.sg/2014/01/manna-story-korean-restaurant-plaza.htmlManna Story is a Korean restaurant that serve authentic Korean cuisine. Beside the wonderful food that they serve, in house decorations are nice too. Just look at the entrance of the stall, doesn't it look homely?4 Sides Dishes if you order set meal - Include Kimchi, preserved radish, beansprouts and salted Ikan bilis Bibimbab - Lots of vegetables such as carrots, beansprouts, mushrooms, seaweeds and choice of meat such as beef, pork or chicken. Do not be deceived by the plain presentation, the rice is actually very tasty. When mixed, it give all a nice fragrant and very delicious combination. Not spicy dish.Kimchi fried pancake - Crispy pancake with kimchi, vegetables, onions and bits of squids filling. Almost every bits there are filling in it. The pancake is mildly spicy. Dipped with the chili sauce provided enhance the spiciness of the pancake.BBQ Chicken - Choice of meat include chicken, pork or beef. Mildly spicy and very nice when eat with rice.Very authentic Korean food, price is reasonable too. Complimentary Side Dishes that came with each main dish. You can ask for 1 extra serving at no cost. The surprising thing about this dish is that it came with Yam! I like yam so it was a nice surprise for me! It comes with 3 layer pork (3 Zam Ba). It is a tad too sweet and gooey for my liking. I havent tried any good Jajangmyeon, but likes just say that if it all taste like this, I wouldnt be going for it a second time.Over-floured (is there even such a word?) battered pork pieces which actually made us feel like we were eating fried dough. Super humongous big NO NO.Plentiful and taste pretty good too. One of the value worth item in Manna Story.I wonder if it is just that Red Pig Korean Restaurant had been such a great place for me, this one pales soooo much in comparision. Cheaper by say 30% than Red Pig, but I will pay that extra 30% anytime to head back to Red Pig.READ ABOUT THE OTHER DISHES @ http://roundtumtums.wordpress.com/2012/07/30/manna-story-plaza-singapura/ continue reading

I was at Plaza Singapura and we were looking for a korean restaurant to dine in. So we google and came to manna story, which only serve normal korean dishes, not korean BBQ. Their MenuI had Kimchi Jjigae and it came with rice and the sides dishes. Personally, i like the kimchi and ikan bilis a lot. The kimchi jjigae was quite average. the soup is quite diluted in my opinion. Will rather have this at places like ju shin jung or superstar k instead. continue reading
