Marché Mövenpick carries a wide selection of pizzas, salads, pastas, sandwiches and desserts, but it was the crepes that caught my eye with their interesting sweet and savoury variety. The savoury crepe we had was especially worthy of mention. It was stuffed with cheese, shrimps, broccoli and many other indistinguishable umami items. A distinctive capsicum-based paste gave the crepe a unique sweet and spicy flavour. When put together, this mish mash of seemingly diverse and incompatible ingredients melded together beautifully into a buttery soft and delicious crepe. We also had a banana-based dessert crepe with vanilla ice cream, and this too was a dream. It was not too overwhelmingly sweet, and the creamy ice cream, studded with vanilla beans, contrasted beautifully with the warm crepe. For a diverse range of melt-in-your-mouth crepe goodness, do check out Marché Mövenpick!  continue reading

This newly opened shopping mall has many nice eatery and restaurants available for you to choose for meals.  Among all, I have chosen to dine at Marche as I want to have my all-time favourite salmon salad.  For less than $10 of spending, this low fat and healthy main course really suit my diet.  Cabbage are very fresh and crunchy with light mayonise dresssing mixed in it.  The thinnly sliced salmon fish is chewy and refreshing, great to have it wih the salad.  Restaurant is cosy and comfortable, self -service as usual but still a friendly dining environment. continue reading

They are having a 1-for-1 breakfast promo from 8am-11am on weekdays. I had the pizza sausage with bacon 9.90and berry compote pancake which was their wednesday daily special. The berry compote was too sour and the pancake tasted average. The pizza was aromatic, crisp and yummy but there was very little bacon at one side only. Overall, it is worth the price! continue reading

Seafood baked pasta $10+. The seafood consists of prawns, mussels and there's mushrooms too. The cheese taste was distinct but not overpowering on the tastebuds. The portion was quite filling. The biscuit-like bread served at the side was crispy and delicious too. If you have tried marche before and you love it, you should try out Marche Bar & Bistro as their food items are rather good too. Recommended! continue reading

Unlike the typical "credit-card system" that most Marches utilise currently, the brand new Movenpick outlet at JEM serves their dishes in a la carte style, bringing about a whole new dining experience. Yet, the ambience and concept was pretty much similar, coupled with rustic furniture, miniature pots of greeneries and soothing light, that resembles the interior of a cosy country-side restaurant. Al fresco dining is also available for diners to enjoy their meals amidst the occasional night breeze.Their rendition of fried Ravioli was surprisingly good. The exterior was nice and crisp, but unfortunately, filled with barely sufficient fillings. This dish is served with their home-made sauce, which is difficult to distinguish between cheesy and sour creamy, kinda flavour. Makes a good side to go along with their beer.Served with two sides of garlic toast and portobello mushroom (..salad), Spaghetti Carbonara (S$14.90) was far from satisfying. Number one: Pasta wasn't al dente (way off undercooked). Number two: Sauce was clumpy and in a mess. These two which gave me enough reasons to leave almost half of the pasta untouched. Just one more, and I might get a refund.Almost 80% of their patrons ordered their signature thin-crusted pizzas, and I thought, why not order one and share it among us? There are more than 10 choices, ranging from cheese pizzas (feta, margherita, goat cheese, etc.) to more meaty ones, such as roasted chicken, prosciutto and smoked salmon. As democratic as we are, we went ahead with the most voted Smoked Duck Breast Pizza (S$20.50). Boy, it was humongous and tasted as great as it looked. Now, don't worry on how you're going to cut it, the service staff would kindly do you the favour.Recommendations for the pizza(s) is highly recommended, otherwise if you are just going to stick to the mains, head for the other Marche outlets...at least they serve rosti there. continue reading
