2 weeks later, I'm right back at Miss Molly's after trying their super delicious and pretty cakes, I was back to try more!! I sat on the other side of the dining area this time and I realized that if you sit closer to the entrance it is alot brighter Okay, this wasn't here the last time I visited. You can download an app, or use the NFC chip in your Android phone and order right from your table, rather than getting up and walking to the cash register.Checking out the menu, I decided to get a full rack of Miss Molly's sticky pork ribs to share and a cake to try! I had high expectations of their cakes and I couldn't wait!1. Miss Molly's Stick Pork Ribs $30When I first placed my order, as I just arrived at 12pm when the cafe just opened, the young man at the cashier said it might take awhile. But nope, the ribs came pretty quickly after ordering! We amazed at the size of the ribs! For $30, this is big enough for 2 or more!I highly doubt that any one person could finish all this by themselfs! The bones weren't huge and there was a lot of meat. The meat was tender and juicy and came off the bones with ease. The sauce was sweet and delightful. I wasn't feeling thirsty after the meal either! YAY!It came with a side salad, which I can only say, I wished that there was more of it. I liked their salad and also their french fries. It was whopping, huge serving of fries! Yes! I will be back for their ribs!2. Vanda Miss Molly $9This cake blew my mind away. It is so pretty with the multiple layers of purple and they decorated so pretty with the little heart shaped sugar bits and chocolate syrup. The cake was just as awesome as the rainbow cake. It was moist and the sugar level was well balanced. I cannot get enough of the cakes here. You will never feel that the cakes here are gerlat, but rather, light and enjoyable for any time of the day!3. Mocha and LatteWe got complimentary drinks when you snap a selfie of yourself and their dishes. Their latte tasted good and perked me up.The mocha was more to my liking, so I preferred sweet drinks more, and you could taste the chocolatey flavour in this drink. All in all, my newest favourite spot to grab a delicious slice of cake and Miss Molly's never lets me down! continue reading

Decided to try out one of the newer but not so new cafe anymore since there are so many more popping up almost any other days. Went to Miss Molly to try out their set lunch since it has been looking good on their facebook page. Decorated with a distinct bicycle hanging on wall. Furnished with wooden furniture and different signage boards on the rustic greyish walls. Not extensive but definitely sufficient food choices from the respective salads, mains, pasta, all day breakfast, sandwiches, pizza and drinks sections. Not forgetting, they have their set lunches too! They change their set lunch menu from time to time.Their set lunch ($12.80 – $15.80) consists of the typical – Soup of the day, Iced Lemon Tea and the respective mains. My first trip there, i ordered their lunch set and chose the Baked Chicken with Mozzarella & Mushrooms.Soup of the Day – Mushroom Soup: Well-blended mushroom soup topped with croutons. Not too rich but definitely not those typical diluted campbell soup.Iced Lemon Tea: Aromatic and well-brewed. A lil to the sourish side though but at least it’s not like iced tea with slices of lemon where some of the dining places are serving those kind now. It’s still decent!Baked Chicken with Mozzarella & Mushrooms: Chicken thigh baked with mozzarella and mushrooms and served with fries and side salad. The thigh is tender, juicy and flavourful with the sauce, mozzarella and mushrooms. Salad refreshes your taste buds after the heavy mains. Generous serving piece of thigh, fries and salad!I went back there the second time for my farewell lunch. This time round i ordered from their ala carte menu – Laksa Pasta with Prawns ($13.80). One of their Must Try dishes, so i decided to try and see if it’s really must try.Laksa Pasta with Prawns: Linguine tossed with own home-made laksa pasta in rich coconut milk with prawns. I would say its a very special dish with unique taste. Its has the creamy laksa taste. But the mouthfeel and texture of the laksa sauce is not that of a typical laksa with coconut milk but has the feel of eating the vegetable lady fingers. Very special. Prawns are fresh and crunchy and pasta are al dente, cooked just nice. I would say this dish did not disappoint me and glad that i’ve tried! continue reading

Tucked away in Craig Road, this little cafe has a cool vintage interior that sports naked bulbs and quaint interior furnishings. My colleague and I each got a Cappuccino and Latte. The coffees were plainly average, perhaps a little under average standard as the aroma wasn't strong and the coffee taste was a little understated for both.My choice of 'Har Cheong Gai (Prawn Paste Chicken) sandwich came with thai sweet chilli sauce. It was disappointing though, exciting as it sounded. The accompanying foccacia bread wasn't fluffy and somewhat crusty and a little stale, while the Har Cheong Gai missed the taste of prawn paste and it was overcooked, resulting in a piece of dry meat that was nearly too hard to down. The best on the plate, would perhaps be the paprika fries instead. For full review, go to http://herpenandfork.blogspot.sg/2014/06/miss-mollys.html  continue reading
