We went to Murugan Idli shop recently. Wow I simply Love that place for the food. The ambience is very simple & nothing fancy. I had got alot of reviews about the idlis (south Indian savoury rice cake) there, so we ordered for Idlis. The Murugan Idlies are the BEST in town. So soft & spongy, they just melt in the mouth. The idlis are served hot with about 5 different chutneys & all chutneys are yummy. We enjoyed some coffee after we finished the idlis, coffee was strong & tasty too. I feasted on Idlis that day continue reading

I was in Little India, and was in the mood for some Idlis so I went to Murugan Idli shop. The place was full, since it was a holiday,so I had to wait for a while to get a table. As soon as I took a seat, I was given a sidposable menu & a pencil,to choose & tick my order. I ticked 2 idlis & a coffee. It was served in no time. I was served 2 idlis with 5 different types of chutneys & a sambhar. The Idlis were hot & so soft, they almost felt like cotton & tasted so good. The chutneys were a great condiment. The coffe too was filter coffee, which was very strong nice,no sugar was added, but sugar sachets were provided. Loved eating at the Murugan Idli shop. continue reading

Went to Murugan Idli Shop for breakfast. My hubby and I love the Idli served here. They are, literally translated from Tamil, 'cotton-like', which means they are as soft as cotton. They are served steaming hot with four chutneys. Savour your idli with the hot coffee they serve here. You will certainly go back for more. continue reading

Idli is a South Indian Food usually made for breakfast or tiffin in South Indian Household. If you are craving for this, head down to Syed Alwi road where Murugan Idli Shop is situated. Don't be deceived by the size of the shop. These people serve the best of idli in town. Trust me. What's the difference between idli spread served here and elsewhere? Well, the idli at Murugan's are not pre-steamed and stored. They are steamed after you place the order. Therefore, you get a refreshing, soft, light and fluffy idli accompanied by sambar(lentil gravy) and four typed of chutneys to suit your palate. Coconut, tomato, corriander and mint chutney will certainly leave that aftertaste that would drive you to order more than a set of two idli. Great tasting food and good service at Murugan Idli. I've yet to savour idli better than those sold here. continue reading
