The Nam Nam Noodle Bar was founded by Director and Owner Chef Nam who was born in Vietnam. Under the Les Amis Group, it is considered one of its cheaper restaurants. The casual restaurant is know for its banh mi and pho with no GST and service charge. One of the best deals in the restaurant is its value breakfast set.$5.90 for choice of any banh mi (excluding wagyu beef) + Viet coffee/ Lotus tea/ Bottled water$6.90 for choice of any pho (excluding pho wagyu beef) + Viet coffee/ Lotus tea/ Bottled waterI had tried its pho before and wasn't a fan of it as I felt it was rather tasteless. So I decided to go for the banh mi this time.Caramelised 5-spice pork belly ($6.90 ala carte)Toasted baguettes stuffed with savoury meats, topped with chicken pate, mayonnaise, hot chilli peppers, pickled carrots, daikon, cucumber and fresh cilantro.Quite a yummy combination with the tangy pickles, melt in the mouth fatty pork belly, and the creamy pate (I though it was tuna mayo at first as it was too creamy to the point of watery). Quite messy to eat with the pate dripping all over.Had it with a cup of hot Viet coffee with condensed milk. The drink was served in a metal cup which the older generation would had it associated with the poorer time. The coffee was a bit too bitter, but there was condensed milk on the counter to help oneself to. The drink tasted more better after that.Service was fast, may because there wasn't much people for a weekday morning. continue reading

Since saw a number of post and review about Nam Nam Noodle Bar, Vietnamese cuisine. I was quite curious on their specialty of Vietnamese Food. It is known of the good serving of Pho and Banh Mi. Pho means noodle and Banh Mi is Vietnam Sandwich.Full Blog review : http://cennds.blogspot.jp/2014/12/nam-nam-noodle-bar_9.htmlTaking a look at menu and we would like to go for Banh Mi instead of Pho. Before finalized the order, we looked around on whether they are serving an ice water and i realized that most of the guests didn't order a drink.Banh Mi Toasted baquettes stuffed with grilled chicken meats, egg omelette, chicken floss, and various healthy vegetables such as pickled carrots, cucumber, and cilantro. Suggested to remove the chili peppersif you are a non-spicy foodie. I was dazed when on my half way enjoying the chili pepper, and didn't know that there was a pieces of hidden chili pepper in the midst of the ingredients.Serving ingredients is very fresh and quite full enough for the packed stuffed ingredient in the Banh Mi. The non spicy Hoisin sauce is delighted which i use it to for the compliment of the  sandwich's topping sauce. It taste sweet and have a smell of vietnamese cuisine. continue reading

The queue looks super long. We waited 25mins for a table of 4 & started queuing at 6.25pm. However, I have to say for a franchise chain... Nam Nam does serve one of the best vietnamese food in Singapore, at convenient locations too. I would highly recommend it.I always get the beef steak pho (well-done meat). They put red chili slices in the soup so if you're not a big fan of the spicy stuff remember to ask them to take it out. The imperial rolls are another one of the must-try items. Unlike typical rolls, these are imperial ones are traditional rice paper instead of the egg-based wrapping. This makes them crispier which I love! The only item that did not blow my socks off was the banh minh which I found to be pretty ordinary (unlike the ones I had in Vietnam!). continue reading
