The dimsum here are quite good and they serve almost everything at one go. I bought a deal of $19.90 for buffet lunch on a weekend here. There's a range of varieties with free flow of chinese tea. I love the custard bun they serve smile and the best thing is there's no limited eating time and you can stay for as long as you like! My friends and I stayed for around 3 hours or more and the staff were still friendly.

As compared to the Old HK branch in Novena, I feel that this restaurant is kinda old. The seats are torn and the paint on the wall are flaky. Honestly, I am kinda shocked that the management did not make any effort to renovate. As for the food, I feel that the dim sums are not as nice as I have expected. They seem to have been kept in the cooker for very long. However, the cooked dishes such as si ji dou, fried carrot cake and porridge taste quite good.

Prawn Dumplings
Smile 2012-07-14

This restaurant may look really simple in their decoration and the layout may not be as squeezy, still the crowd over here is almost endless which most of the youngster love to hang around in this tea house to have some snacks and drinks and and great long chat. Have tried their steamed prawn dumplings and was not too impressed with it. The dumpling skin is abit too hard and not smooth at all. Fortunately the prawn meat in the dumpling is consider fresh and crunchy. Overall was quite alright only.

Dim Sum
Smile 2012-05-18

I love eating dim sum, especially when you go in a big group, you can order many different types of dim sum to be shared among everyone. Do try out the dim sum here, they offer a wide range of varieties at an affordable prices. The ingredients used were generous, fresh, and tasty. Could not find any fault with the food there as there were simply too delicious.

hongkong delights

In this cafe, you get to try out various of the food offerings that will be very commonplace in hong kong's char can ting. I ordered the poluo buns, beef chee cheong fun as well as the egg tarts. The polo buns are quite ok, taste something like those plain poluo buns that you find in crystal jade bakery so I wouldn't recommend this. The beef chee cheong fun is the dish that you should order here. The beef is tender and soft and the chee cheong fun is very smooth and thin. It goes very well with the sauce. The egg tarts are the flaky kinds and are also worth ordering.

i was craving for some nice dim sum, so i asked my friend where would he recommend. he recommended me to old hong kong. i hopped onto the car, picked my girlfriend and we headed to old hong kong. the dim sum there is really good. there were quite a number of choices. even though there were only two of us, we still ordered a lot. my favourite were the egg tarts. love the custard, not too sweet. the pastry is very buttery, crumbles when you take a bite. really delicious!

My wife and I went to Easst Coast Area to visit one of friend, Darren, who just came back from Australia. When we are heading towards his place, Darren called me to go for dim sum lunch at Old Hong Kong Tea House. I replied him okie and will picked him up at his place. It was 11am when we reached there and we did not waited too long to get ourself seated. We orderd quite alot of Dim Sum and we stayed there for almost 2 hrs just to catch up. Overall the food taste not too bad.
