Full Pacific Coffee Company review here: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2014/11/pacific-coffee-company.htmlPacific Coffee Company is an international casual coffee house franchise that traces its origins to Hong Kong in 1993. Styled after the major American coffee house franchises, Pacific Coffee Company exudes a relaxing, comfortable vibe, welcoming customers to linger over coffee and conversation.Ambience at Pacific Coffee Company is the most outstanding aspect here. Open, airy, and bright, the interior is decked in warm woods, with comfortable furniture. It's possible to just linger here and watch the world go by, or curl up in their sofas with a book. Relaxing, homely, and casual.Service at Pacific Coffee Company is largely self-service, where ordering, payment, and collection is done over the counter. Fortunately, staff are very quick at fulfilling orders, and you'll rarely have to stand around long. I like that staff are pretty friendly too, but don't expect to have much conversation with them.Food at Pacific Coffee Company is largely limited to drinks, with a few finger foods, pastries, and snacks, so don't expect to get a proper meal here. While the food menu is limited, they do offer a good range of drinks, specifically focused on coffee, of which they have a house roast / blend. Prices are similar to other major coffee houses, budget about SGD $7 per person for a drink here.I loved the zesty, refreshing taste of the Mochorange (SGD $6.40), with its orange infused flavour that lent a sparky mouth feel. The Double Choc Brownie (SGD $4.50), warm and dense in texture, rich in chocolate taste, cut through with the crunch of the nuts. The Ham & Spinch Quiche (SGD $5.80) is generously stuffed with tasty spinach and slices of savoury ham. I like that there isn't too much fillers, as is common in other cafes. continue reading

Tried Pacific Coffee Company at the reddot design museum -it's a really lovely place to immerse yourself in. The whole decor of the place gives off a royal feel, with plush armchairs and teak wooden tables with chic lampshades. The place has an indoor seating and an outdoor portion that extends onto the museum courtyard. This being my first time at Pacific Coffee Company I decided to go for a safe option of a Vanilla Latte with ice cubes for $6.40 (size: Small). The service was brisk and I got my order promptly. With the tunes of vintage music crooning in the background the entire vibe of the coffee place was really enchanting -the coffee was good, not too bitter and not too sweet -the flavours fused seamlessly in an iced beverage that tasted good even when diluted. I didn't tire of the sweet vanilla aftertaste -it was really pleasant!I wouldn't pretend to be a coffee connoisseur with a discerning palate for coffee types -but this coffee was worth my $6.40. Drawing a comparison to other large coffee chains in Singapore such as Starbucks or Coffee Bean, I wouldn't say that it is any much different. Each place has its distinctive quality that draws its loyal customers. That being said, the factor that will lure me back to this quiet hideout would be it's soothing environment -quiet and reflective. It's a sanctuary for thought, and the spaciousness of this cafe ensures that people aren't jostling for space, squeezing next to each other, gulping down their coffees in a hasty fashion so that they can leave quickly and make room for other cafe users. Here, it's just you and the coffee -another reason why I would think that the importance of the taste and quality of the coffee served would be amplified. In this aspect, they did not disappoint. continue reading
