Good:- Wide variety of pastas to choose from!- Taste good.Bad:- Some pastas are hard in texture, making it dry to swallow.Overall:The wide variety of pastas available means that you could return to eat again and again! Generally the pastas that I have eaten tasted good and worth the money. Will not hesitate to return again in the future. Will also recommend this place to friends! continue reading

One does not need to go very far to find a place with cozy atmosphere and good food. A crowd pleaser like Pasta De waraku makes a great place for dining in with your loved ones! There is usually very few people in the restaurant. The service, however, is quite slow and the staff wasn't very friendly. We changed our order a few seconds after ordering and she grimaced at us, saying 'tsk, haiz' to show apprehension. That aside, the restaurant is famous for its pasta! This bacon and ham carbonara pasta (SGD9.90) is quite small in portion, and I felt hungry even after finishing it. It comes with rich creamy sauce and a mouth-watering oily sheen. It was a treasure hunt for the bacon, but thankfully they were quite generous with their ham! The pasta was soft and evenly cooked throughout. We ordered this as an a la carte (a separate menu from the set menu).I really love the set menu which grants a sharing portion between two people (friends, lovebirds, family) at an affordable price! The total set meal, which consists of a drink and a soup of the day, costs SGD26.80.You can choose from a wide variety of food items. If you're a pescetarians, fret not as there are salmon steak to go along! We ordered the iced lemon tea soft the drink and mind you, it was so refreshing that I really wanted to order another cup! It was not too sweet and the tea was strong in flavour. This is how the food looked like when it came. We asked for an extra plate so as to share the portion. Don't belittle the look of a small portion, it was actually quite filling!Cabonara Waraku SauceThe carbonara waraku sauce pasta actually contained deep-fried bacon & poached egg yolk with Carbonara sauce. Here's a tip: if you don't like your yolk to be half-cooked, do inform the waitress of your preference! The pasta was a light creamy taste instead of the usual rich flavour, and the bacon wasn't too oily or fat. The side dish was a fried tofu and potato salad (at the background). Anyway, don't be deceived by how it looks! Despite looking like the one you can buy from supermarket and cook yourself at home, the fried tofu was quite delicious! The potato salad, however, tasted a bit stale.Salmon Steak with Teriyaki Saucemoving on to the salmon steak, i thought the teriyaki sauce did a GREAT job masking the awful smell of the salmon. It is a truly decadent addition to the meal!If you're looking to visit Pasta de waraku, here are some tips for you.1. Don't be surprised if there isn't anyone serving you while you queue outside. Just walk in and sit yourselves as the waitresses, well, pretends to be busy in a restaurant with almost no customers.2. Look out for food deals online from Pasta de Waraku. The restaurant usually upload great deals (e.g: Groupon) online!3. Visit in the evening or when the sun sets. You are able to watch a beautiful view of the Singapore river! continue reading

It's been a long time since i have my meal at Pasta De Waraku!Perhaps we went there quite early around 6pm so there wasn't a crowd at the restaurant, in fact it's quite empty except for 2 tables We decide to order a pizza to split between us!First time trying out a seafood pizza, we had the scallop and prawn pizza!I was quite astonished by it.The pizza was quite thin, in fact more like biscuit! However i love the prawns and scallops They were very big and fresh, definitely worth the price Super yummy with cheese, love it! continue reading

I remember Waraku used to be the talk of the town when it first started out in Singapore.. starting the Japanese restaurant hype. When I visited, the place was almost empty. Tables aplenty to choose from. Wait staff all fighting for your service. Glad too that it was quiet, nice to have a quiet leisurely meal with a friend. As the name suggests, don't expect anything other than pasta and more pasta. Every dish is accompanied with pasta. So we have here the Mushroom Chicken Pasta and a Seafood Pasta. The pasta was alright but the Seafood sauce mix proved too overwhelming - it was too salty. We had to wave the manager over to ask if the dish is usually this salty. "Yes" was the reply. Too bad then. We just had to finish it with no chance of an exchange. Nothing to shout about about the Mushroom Chicken Pasta. Simple meal. Rather pricey I must say, averaging S$15 per person. Won't be back in the near future unless suggested or forced by others. continue reading
