Introduction
Paul Bakery's recipes for bread, viennoiserie and patisserie have been passed down the family for more than one hundred years. The shops give the impression of always having been there, whether they are designed as a rustic village bakery, all brick, beams and baskets, or like an Empire salon with reclaimed panelling, hand-painted wallpaper and chandeliers. continue reading

After the a lunch time gym session I walked past Paul’s and my legs just decided to stop and naturally I look at the delicious range of pastries, baguettes, etc. And suddenly my eyes stopped at the tart aux abricots. I order and pay for the tart and return to the office. I wait a time until there were less people in the office before I open the box. I do this otherwise I would have had to share. And this was a very good decision as when I did finally put the first piece into my mouth I just wanted to hide away and enjoy it to myself. The perfect combination of the light sweetness of the custard is balanced by the slight sourness of the apricots and all on top of a buttery and flaky pastry. This was perfectly complemented by a black coffee. continue reading

Lovin' it that Paul is infiltrating Singapore with the delectable Paris bakery cuisine. Indeed, it is as authentic as it can get! The flour is flown all the way from Paris, but they still keep the prices really low. However, the service was a little different because in France, the typical service is unfriendly expressions and the servers will be impatient if you stand there too long to think about what you would like to select. I love their service in Singapore, who explained to me what the different pastries contained! I love the way they present their pastries and savouries. The store layout is exactly the same as it is in Paris. The soft warm glow keeps the pastries hot, so that when you eat it, it'll taste warm and crispy.Croissant - SGD2.70I took away croissant and ate it for the next day's breakfast. It still tasted crispy after putting on the oven, and the best part is, Paul Bakery's confectionaries are NOT as oily as compared to other bakeries! The bread was still fluffy, soft and nice.Grille Pomme- SGD3.80This was too sweet for my taste, but it is how the French love it. The Apple compose was placed on top of the puff pastry, and additional apple paste are spread across the rectangular pastry. It was so filling and so sweet that I would recommend it to be shared among two people! Perfect with tea continue reading
