My boy loves roti prata. After watching a movie at Shaw Nex, he said he wanted to eat roti prata, so the 2 of us went to Prata Wala in NEX level 2. He had the plain roti prata and I had prata with onions and egg. The roti prata is not the crispy type that I like but they are generous with the onions and egg, the prata is full with onions and egg. The waiting time is not long. continue reading

For me, Prata is the most delicious North and South Indian food in casual ambience. Prata Wala at Serangoon Nex which I visited was one of the prata experts, usually served with a vegetable or meat based curry. I ordered normal prata with egg, mushroom and cheese ($4.20). It was crispy while it is still hot and the taste was wonderful when you eat along with their curry and sambal. The mixture of egg, mushroom and cheese makes me feeling that I was eating Pizza at prata stall. Prata Wala always serves unusual prata fillings and flavours such as vegetables, chicken, mushroom, milo, condensed milk and etc. They are also selling prata set, price ranged from $6.90 onwards.Other signatures : Naan, Thosai, Tandoori, Nasi Briyani and also Teh Tarik. For those big eater, don't worry, the portion on our plate is pretty generous. continue reading

Had my dinner at Prata Wala. As it was their peak period, waiting time was quite long. Ordered a set of butter naan with mutton curry. Took more than 25 minutes before the food was served. It was quite a huge portion. The naan was not too hard and it was covered with the fragrance of the butter. It tasted quite good even on its own and tasted even better with the mutton curry. continue reading

Went there for lunch with friends. We ordered Plain Prata and Chicken Branyani. When we recieved the food, it was quite tempting and piping hot. First bite, the prata was crispy and it have a little bit margerine flavor, somemore its not oily too. The fish gravy was quite good and not overly thick but it a bit cold, a bit disappointed. The fish curry gravy that go along with it has blend well with these pratas. The briyani was not bad too. The chicken was juicy and fresh and the gravy really goes well with the chicken. The rice was soft, fragrant but a bit oily. Overall, the food was average. continue reading

I was shopping around with my girlfriend when we got a little hungry and decided to look for snacks. We spotted a prata wala and headed in for some prata snack. We ordered their egg and cheese prata. It took a little while to come, the prata was fairly large size, it was very fragrant, when they served it, you can practically smell the buttery fragrance. The egg was cooked in the centre. The curry dip for the prata was really tasty, it was not too spicy nor was it not too salty. The prata was very crispy on the outside but chewy on the inside. It was a really good afternoon snack. continue reading
