I went there for dessert only, wanted to chill at dempsey and boyfriend brought me to PS cafe and relax. that wasnt the first time I been there with him. but I will jus review on my recent february visit. As usual it is crowded with people due to its popularity i guess. so since I wanted dessert, I went to order their cake..chocolate cake. It was very big that both of us cant finish and I brought home for my family to try haha. Will recommend you all to go try the cakes they baked smile delicious!

Just alright
Just OK 2012-12-15

Hidden in Dempsey Hill, this gorgeous 'glass house' restaurant is surrounded by greens. Cosy and nice ambience.

We kicked off the meal with a Foie gras ($22) entree. The strong subtle taste of foie gras goes really well with the crispy toasted bread. I like it because overall speaking, it is not too greasy.

Mudcrab and Caviar rigatoni ($29) is recommended dish. The pasta is served with generous amount of mudcrab cooked with lemon butter, heaps of spinach, tomato, parmesan and black caviar.. It's simply satisfying.

PS Bolognaise ($26) is a bit ordinary though, no wow factor I'd say. The spaghetti is cooked with homemade ground beef, bacon and tomato sauce, finished with a handful grated parmesan cheese and crispy basil leaves.

Rosemary kofta curry ($28) is rich in Indian flavour. The lamb meatballs are simmered in aromatic curry, served with coconut scented basmati rice, and minty yogurt. I like the pinenuts and papadum too. However, I reckon this dish is too huge in portion. Get someone to share with you, ladies!

The only branch that serves brunch?
Smile 2012-12-14

Different branches of PS Cafe serves different desserts. And my favorite is ginger pudding with earl grey creme anglaise and vanilla ice cream. The ginger pudding was served warm and the ginger taste was subtle.

My very first Eggs Benedict was eaten here. It was not good, their eggs benedict was inconsistent. A friend and i ordered the same dish - mine was overcooked and friend's eggs benny were fine.

Their truffle fries are not bad and one plate is not enough for 2!

Had their chicken salad since my friend can't consume seafood. Else i would have ordered their prawn ones. The greens are pretty fresh and juicy. The portion is really huge which can serve up to 3 i guess. There's a poached egg sitting on top of the entire salad with small cubes of bread toast, slices of cheese and chicken chunks. I didn't really like the chicken as they were a little too dry to my liking. Service wise is average only given the posh setting of the cafe, i was expecting more.

We ordered double chocolate cake, carrot cake and truffle fries to share. The serving of the truffle fries was really big, fries were fresh and crispy, but there could be more truffle taste. The carrot cake was fresh and delicious and we love the walnuts in the cake. The double chocolate cake came with vanilla ice-cream, it is a great choice and must try for chocolate lovers. Overall we enjoyed the food, but find it slightly pricey.

Too English For Me
Smile 2012-01-01

My friend insisted to have our brunch at PS Cafe since everyone of us was available so we went. It was full house during lunch hour with most of them Whites. Thus, we waited for nearly 30 minutes to get a table.

The environment is really nice and close to the nature and it suppose to make people feel calm and at ease but with such crowd and the hustle and bustle just make you feel uneasy.

The cakes sure got my attention but not for the menu...

Their cakes is really special, it is tall and comes in gigantic portion but the price is gigantic also. smile

Ultimate Fudge $14.90

You can have this cake alone and you will be full! Share it with 2 is still a little suicide. We shared among 4 of us and we still feel that the cake is too sweet to be indulged. But still, I love the cake with the mash mellow. It will be good if the cake comes in smaller serving size.

Four of us share 2 mains, 1 soup and a dessert as we booked a dinner at 5.30pm and didn't want to be too full.

Chicken Parmigiano $26

In simple term, it is actually chicken in tomato spaghetti sauce. I will say if you eat it alone, you will feel a little overwhelm.

PS Fish & Chips $28

Fish & Chips is great! I like the unique fries shape and the special sauce which I couldn't figure out what sauce is that.

Portobello Mushroom Soup $14

I will say the soup is too pricey and I don't really like the soup. It is too thick with too much starch and the taste of the mushroom is not clearly define.

The ice water here is very special! They added vegetable in it and it somehow taste more refreshing.

The total bill was $97.55, luckily for us it was 4 of us and not 2. It is still affordable for us but for 2 I will say, not really that worth.

Chill out @ PS Cafe
Just OK 2011-10-30

PS Cafe is a good place to chill out with mates, the interior design gives a cosy feeling, with style.

 Cosy interior!

 Stylish

For the starter, we ordered Veg & Dip. It came in with a variety of fresh crunchy raw vegie, i.e. carrot, celery, asparagus etc. and 3 different dips: hummus, salsa, and beetroot. It's a very refreshing appetizer. Out of the 3 dips, I like the salsa the most.

   Veg & Dip

For the mains, we ordered the mudcrab & caviar Rigatoni and the Chermoula pork pie. This rigatoni is highly recommended! It tastes very good, with the strong seafood flavour and the sauce is very well-done too!

   Mudcrab & Caviar Rigatoni

However, the pork pie is a big disappointment. The pie has a huge pastry 'topping', which is so dry that I couldn't get myself to finish it.

   Chermoula pork pie

Also, I reckon the pork chunks could be little bit more saucy. But the plus side is, the couscous and the grilled vegie brochette actually tasted not bad.

Overall speaking, this place has a good dining environment, and the service is good too, perhaps I just ordered the wrong dish.

Had a nice dinner with my friends at PS Café. I tried the PS. Cafe’s Banana Toffee Cake which was good! It was slightly sticky and moist but we were delighted to see bits of chocolate chips in the cake. Which is quite unique as the usual banana cakes I tried before does nothave chocolate chips. Great dessert! lol

PS Cafe Lunch
Just OK 2011-09-02

I went to Dempsey to meet a friend for lunch recently and we decided to try PS Cafe because we heard alot of good things about their food. Indeed, taste wise, it was a pleasant experience. I ordered a chicken in a basket - the presentation was really cute, the chicken was crispy and not too oily and the fries were my favourite thick cut fries.

Ambience wise, PS Cafe certainly isnt the most comfortable place. If you sit indoors, the noise echos all around the room such that you start to feel a headache coming. Whereas if you sit outdoors, beware of the mosquitoes!

PS Cafe@Dempsey
Smile 2011-09-02

I was overwhelmed by the cafe with full length glass window as though dinning inside a greenhouse when I first visited them. The ambience definitely cozy and comfortable and the cakes at the counter top were quite different from the usual cakes at other competitor's cafe. I fell in love with their key lime pie at the first bite, the custard filling was filled with the zest of the lime and not very sour as they topped the pie with some fresh cream. As for the crust, it tasted more like digestive biscuit and blended well with butter. The overall taste was heavenly. Eversince then I have been recommeding to friends on this pie and couple of them did agree that it was good. It's around $12 plus per piece.

Smile 2011-08-31

my girlfriend and i were supposed to wake up early for our usual breakfast, but we both were so tired that both of us overslept, so by the time i went to fetch her, it was brunch time. we could not think of where to go for lunch so we headed to ps cafe at harding road for our brunch. we both love the food at ps cafe. the soup is especially nice, creamy and warm. rich in flavour as well. it really does wakes us up.

price wise it was quite ok depending on the food we ordered. the service there is really good. a nice cosy place to have a great meal!

We were craving for desserts and we decide to head to PS Café at Dempsey Road. We ordered the chocolate cake with ice cream and yes, the portion was huge. The slice of cake tasted delicious with the rich chocolate. The ice cream tasted smooth as well. It costs around $15+ for the dessert and I think it was quite expensive for just desserts.

ps cafe is a quiet place to chill and relax with friends and enjoy good food.
tried out the truffle shoestring fries at this place. it is indeed no ordinary fast food fries. for one thing the portion is huge. and they sprinkle some parsley and cheese on top. it was also not as oily too. making it a delicious flavourful snack. although pricey, the ambience and food is well worth it.
