Roti prata is one of the choice for me when it comes to breakfast since young. I love the crispiness of the prata crust and the one at RK Eating House does not disappoint. Has been visiting this prata house for many years and their standard still remains the same (don't know about other food cos I only ordered prata...) Ordered my usual egg prata for breakfast and true enough the crust is crispy and hot from stove. The egg in the prata is spreaded evenly, thus you get to taste the egg for every bite of the prata. The curry sauce to dip the prata is tasty too, not too spicy but really shiok!

Ordered myself 2 egg prata for supper. Their prata is not oily and the egg is not overcooked. The curry to dip the prata is quite diluted, if it's thicker it will be much better. Nothing much special about the prata though.

Also ordered a plate of maggie goreng in pattaya style. A disaster dish I must say. The omelet which wrapped the maggie mee has a very strong chao-tah (burnt) smell. The maggie goreng is very oily and to the extend I feel that it was being soaked in oil... definitely not recommended.

RK Eating House

I was introduced by my friends to RK Eating House. We went for supper by cab to this place and it is like a coffee shop. And we ordered plenty of roti prata with milk tea to come along with when eating. The prata they have is less oily and compared to other and it is so crispy on the outside! It is very tasty and yummy! The sauce by the side- curry is very thick and tasted good when dipped with roti prata! (: Awesome

I always like to have my prata with an egg. I could not quite remember the actual name for this type of prata. The dough is fluffy and light with a slight buttery taste. The egg complemented the taste quite well. I like it on its own or have it with the curry gravy provided. The spiciness level of the curry was rather mild. This is the typical type of breakfast that i enjoy. I like it to go with a cup of coffee or an iced milo.

Roti John
Smile 2012-05-07

This bigger version of roti prata is so crispy on the outside and very fluffy on the inside which make me crave for more and almost make me visit this stall for almost three to four times in a month. Like the curry mutton fillings in it which the mutton meat is very tender and with no stingy smell in it. The dry curry is very thick and filled with lots of fragrant and nutritions from the Indian spicies used in it. The roti john is make only upon your order so you can ensure the best and freshest roti john is served to you.

Prata
Just OK 2012-03-17

Having been here so many times, i cant believe i have yet to write a food review about this place! Like many of the other restaurants at night, RK Eating house at serangoon gardens comes to life during the night times, and many people can been seen having their prata fix at RK eating house at night!

I was one of them and i ordered my usual teh terik and egg prata! The prata here are not bad (i heard from a friend that they bought their dough shocked) but my prata my cold ):

Teh terik was not bad though, sweetness-level just the way i like it.

Overall, a cheap and quick late night snack!

RK Eating House for supper! Great that it is opened 24 hours to cater to the hungry ones at night! Love their cheese prata, it is super cheesy and nicely fried until it is quite crispy. Each bite is saturated with cheese overflowing in your mouth! Good food and super affordable prices! Now there’s one more reason to go supper!

Comfort mamak food
Just OK 2011-08-30

Otherwise known as the tea version of cappuccino, teh cino is best described as milk with a layer of tea on top. I like how RK do it in layered as you still can see the layer of the milk and tea when they serve it. After i tried this at RK, i totally fell in love with it.

RK do serve very nine mee goreng too, it is not so oily like the rest. squeezed the lime on the noodle to have better taste bud. All the ingredients provided their different texture and taste, contributing to the overall savory and spicy satisfaction. It taste kind of like char kuey teow. Other than that, rk house do serve very nice rojak too! you can DIY your own plate of DIY by selecting the item you would like to have from the display.

plaster prata.
Smile 2011-07-29

The night is always young here at Serangoon Gardens, especially on weekends when Chomp Chomp closes later compared to weekdays. RK Eating House is always 24 hours though, prata is supper food.

I ordered 2 plastic prata to aid my cravings. They are the tastier version of egg pratas, it's like sunny side up attached to a plain prata. I also ate it with fish curry. Yummy.

Mouth-watering Murtabab
Smile 2011-06-30

This 24-hour coffee shop at the Serangoon Garden Circus is always busy - especially in the evenings. My favourites here are the Maggie Mee Goreng, Bee Hoon Goreng and Roti Prata;
not forgetting the Teh Tarik.
Decided to try the Mutton Murtabab this time with mutton gravy.
The Mutton Murtabab is just $5 and it is full of minced mutton pieces.
The mutton has been well marinated before being minced and with the right blend of spices,
the taste is something to savour. Together with the mutton, the diced onion and eggs also add flavour and when they are all added carefully to the well kneaded dough, the result is wonderful.
The murtabab is not too thick and the sides are crispy. It goes very well with the thick mutton gravy. It is a little oily, but thats important to retain the taste.
Therefore, I limit the number of times I can have murtabab in a month.
You can also ask for chicken or sardine murtabab.
Service is fast, if it is not during peak hours.

A common spot for people to hang out when 'the night is always young'. People are often here for supper but some do come here for lunch and dinner too.

I ordered 2 pieces of plain prata, I'd usually have mine plain, sometimes with egg or onions and cheese but most of the time, I like plain.

I enjoy dipping half the serving in fish curry and the other half in sugar. The prata here is pretty good, it isn't like soaked in oil, not overly crispy, neither is it soggy.

Great!

Maggie Mee Goreng - after a long time!
Smile 2011-03-30

This Halal 24 hour coffee shop has a wide variety of dishes - from roti prata to indian rojak to bee hoon goreng to Malay chcken rice to North Indian cuisine.
In addition to Mee Hoon Goreng and Indian Rojak, you can also get my favourite - Maggi Mee Goreng - here!
This is actually the usual Instant noodle that we all know of - with a spicy touch!
I love add ons with my fried noodles - chicken sausage and fishcake.
Together with tofu, potato and vegetable, both the Mee Goreng and Maggi Mee Goreng
are absolutely tasty. Everyone should try the Maggi Mee Goreng - you must!
The Indian Rojak, with a wide selection of ingredients, is another popular favourite at this coffe shop.
Very often, the Indian Rojak finishes very fast, so you have to go early!
My favourite place for Indian food in Seranggon Gardens - and I will definitely go there at least once a week.
The service is great and the staff treat the customers with fantastic hospitality - it is like one big happy family!
