too small!
Just OK 2013-02-03
By the time we got up and out, brunch became lunch.

So when we got there, we were happy to see brunch items offered all day on the menu but decided we probably wanted something substantial.

Mistake.

How is this substantial?

A small fillet of crusted salmon on a bed of mash with a few greens and a few fries. Hmm.

Taste wise, it was good but left me wanting in a hungry tummy way.

I wish we had taken the brunch option.

Oh well.

Wonderful Xmas Menu @ Prive Grill
Smile 2012-12-11
Christmas came early this year and my boyfriend and I decided to have our special Xmas dinner at Prive Grill. Located on Singapore's only private island, Prive Grill isn't the easiest eatery to reach, but it sure is worth the journey.

We had the 5-course Festive Menu which was about $80++ per person. The dinner took about 2 hours and the pace the food was served at was perfect; they'd wait for you to be done with one before preparing and serving the other. We also had the BEST seats in the house, right by the waterfront! That evening we saw not one, but two firework displays right from where we were seated. Apparently, one of the staff told us that December sees weekly firework shows because of the festive season, so that was an awesome experience!

Tataki of Yellow Fin Tuna
Tataki of Yellow Fin Tuna was one of the starters and this was arguably one of my favourite items on the festive menu. The freshness of the yellow fin was unrivalled and it was seasoned so well. I gobbled this baby right up!

Josper-grilled King Prawns
The king prawns were huge, firm and juicy (must be the magic of the Josper grill). The bits of caviar added that burst of flavour to every bite, and the bed of truffled mash the prawns sat on was heavenly.

Pan-roasted Atlantic Cod
The cod was cooked to PERFECTION. What made this so tasty was the Niçoise olive and parsley crust which added a savoury touch to the dish. I love dishes that play with contrasting textures and flavours and the crust did just that, while complementing the smoothness of the fish meat.

Pineapple Carpaccio
Dessert was pretty out of this world. Thinly sliced pineapple topped with chilli, vanilla ice cream and olive oil coconut cake. Again, the contrasting textures and flavours with the sweetness of the pineapple and the spiciness of the chilli did it for me.

To top it all off, the service at Prive Grill was splendid. Our evening was perfect thanks to these guys. Bravo Prive!!

Affordable set lunch

http://madamechewy.wordpress.com/2012/07/24/prive-lunch-with-m/

M wanted to try Prive Grill Restaurant so we headed there for set lunch. At $35++ per pax for 3 courses, the set lunch was a steal for the quality of the meal as well as the romantic and sophisticated ambiance with the view of the waters.

It was a little inconvenient to get to Keppel Bay; we had to walk all the way in from Habourfront train station because there was no bus that goes in. We felt our efforts were worth it as we enjoyed the lunch very much.

The restaurant do not allow slippers, singlets or shorts. If you make a reservation, the staff would remind you about their strict dress code.

The breads were served with butter and salt. One thing I like about the butter is that it is very salty.

Mushroom soup which was thick and flavoursome but not too rich.

Classic Caesar Salad with baby Romaine Lettuce, Tomato Marinade, Bread crouton, bacon, hard boiled and shave parmesan

Pan roasted strip loin, Australian Grass Fed 170g. For this mains, there is a $15 extra charge.

Sous-Vide Turkey Cutlet: Turkey with Quenelle of Farci Dough, Parsnip, Dutch Baby Carrot, Grapes, Paris Mushrooms and Cranberry Sauce

Crème caramel with caramelized orange confit

Apple Gelee with candied Minature cherry apple and green apple foam. I felt the apple foam was light and refreshing; a nice change from my usually penchant for sweet desserts.

Coffee and tea is included in the set lunch smile

Privé Restaurant
Smile 2012-07-02
We visited Prive recently for their all day breakfast (9.30am - 5pm) for brunch and i ordered an Egg Royale ($16) after hearing so much raves from friends and from all the reviews here. Basically, it consist of English muffins, eggs, creamy sauce and smoke salmon. The English muffin was crispy topped with the egg, sauce and salmon. This is the best egg benedict i had so far. The place is pretty inaccessible unless you drive.

For dinner, we went to Privé Restaurant at Marina at Keppel Bay. The ambience of the restaurant is splendid with a fantastic view of the bay. We ordered the set dinner, of which is the cream of corn soup and crispy tiger prawns with shimeiji mushroom salad. It costs around $40 per person for the course dinner. The food is of quality and I enjoyed the dinner.

Egg Royale @ prive
Smile 2012-03-29

We visited Prive recently for their all day breakfast (9.30am - 5pm) for brunch and i ordered an Egg Royale ($16) after hearing so much about it from friends. Its basically a dish of english muffins with eggs, a creamy sauce and smoke salmon. I liked it because the english muffin was crispy! which was a surprise considering the egg, sauce and salmon piled on top of it. Probably the best egg benedict/ egg royale i've had in Singapore so far!

To get to Prive at Keppel Bay, its easier to drive than to take public transport because the bus stop isn't near the cafe at all. Having brunch at Prive is a nice way spend the morning - enjoy the seabreeze, the sun and the sight of yachts at the habour.

Dessert @ Prive
Smile 2012-03-01
Cousin suggested going to prive restaurant for for dinner and dessert. Wouldn't mind going to a restaurant to have my meal and dessert. since she is treating. >.< The main course were delicious, have to be tasty given the price paid. The dessert were really nice and tasty. I find it is not too sweet and the taste stays and lingers in your mouth. Makes me feel like going back for more!

So i went for lunch with my cousin. The place offers a stunning view of the placid wharf with docked yachts dotting all over the little port. The place doesn't come with windows..However the ambiance is really nice. We ordered a plate of Fish and chips and pancakes. The fish and chips was good. The fries were Not overly greasy and oily, the fries were seasoned lightly with salt and crispy on the outside and not soggy and the fish was Fried to perfection, crispy on the outside on soft and juicy on the inside. they served it with tartar sauce. The pancakes was really soft. they served it with syrup and cream. and also fruits on the of the pancakes. This two dishes were worth the money. I would go back to try other dishes.

a great way to kick start the day
Smile 2011-11-21
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The only way to kick start the day is to have a filling breakfast. I went with some friends to prive for breakfast. I simply love their egg benedict. It is so good. the egg yolk practically ooze out when you slice into the egg. Totally mouth watering. It is not too filling yet really hitting the spot. Totally love prive’s egg benedict.

started my day with the most awesome breakfast. it was so awesome it lingered in my mouth and mind the whole day. i went to prive and ordered their most delicious egg benedict. the egg york was still running when they served it to me. how awesome can that be. the taste of the runny egg york on the egg benedict is totally awesome. even thinking about it make my mouth waters. the food at prive is indeed top standard. glad my friend brought me there.

Go to Prive often when my friends and I just want to sit in the open facing the yacht and relax. Tried their breakfast and ordered the Eggs Benedict with 2 Poached Eggs, Honey Baked Ham, Streaky Bacons, Hollandaise Sauce, English Muffin & served with Arugula and it was not too bad. As for dinner, I've tried their Mushroom Linguine Organic Mushrooms tossed with White Wine, Garlic & Cream,Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Bacon, Sundried Tomatoes, Bird's Eye Chilli & Baby Spinach which both were good and also the Fish n chips which was not oily and the batter was fluffy. Also tried their Straight Cut Fries with Truffle Mayonnaise Dip, quite addictive. And their milkshakes I will have to go for the Bailey's Irish Cream with Hershey's Chocolate Sauce, it's really very good and rich. Somehow for the cakes, it was only the carrot cake that I felt was good. As for the service, they are a bit slowsad

Very nice ambience overlooking the bay. A great way to relax and just enjoy the beautiful scenary during your meal smile Ordered sared US scallops with capellini, melted bottarga buter and Ikura. Very nicely done. The US scallops were lightly seared, not overcooked, and has a bouncy and soft texture that instantly got you hooked onto it. A little pricey but all's worth it for good food smile Had an enjoyable meal especially with the beautiful setting.
