Aroma of coffee from the coffee buns
Smile 2011-05-15

This shop selling Hong Kong Dim Sum is quite popular in Clementi. Remember some years back, there's a craze for those Coffee bread and shops like Papa Roti, MaMa Roti can be seen almost every area of Singapore. Now, they have all disappeared but the traditional shops are still surviving well. This shop sells coffee buns. It's not difficult to differentiate the coffee buns from the normal ones as the skin is brown in colour. The aroma of the coffee is so strong even before you open the box it has already drifted out. Inside the coffee skined bun is the normal red bean paste. Have them while they are hot and you will never regrets.

Hong Kong Tim Sum
Just OK 2011-03-23

You can see few staffs stuffed in the small kitchen making the bao and dim sum from the entrance. All the bao, siew mai, mai kai and others also made by themselves. Using hands not the machine. So, appreciate each bite that you have in your mouth.

The price is average, Siew Mai selling at $0.80 each. You can find the chicken rice selling in this shop as well. I heard from someone that they selling the chicken rice first then only after that they start to sell dim sum. The residents there buy more dim sum from this shop than the chicken rice now. They provide seats in the shop and they selling tea/coffee as well. The drinks are so-so but the food is quite nice. smile
