This is my favourite among all the cakes which I have tried. Nutty almond meringue holds the light and smooth mango mousse together, creating a balance between the two.

The casual restaurant was nothing to boast of - simple wooden, rectangular tables with simple, matching seats. A couple of Japanese paintings hung around the walls, but that was about it - no fuss, no muss.

A simple garden salad consisting of lettuce and tomato was being served to us first, while waiting for our pasta dishes. Don't be fooled by the boring-looking combination - we had thought it would be tasteless, but on the contrary, the sweet-sour dressing set the vegetables on a tastebud rampage - it was oishi ("tasty" in Japanese)!

The first pasta dish - the Scallops and Asparagus Spaghetti - was strong in a delicious garlic-based flavor. Yes, the taste was surprisingly good, and the spaghetti of the right texture (springy, not too soggy). Infused with the goodness of two of my favorite ingredients - bouncy scallops and crunchy asparagus - this dish made my evening.

The pizza here is definitely one of the outstanding items sold in here. For less than $30, is really worth the price. The pizza crust is very thin and not too dry. The large fresh prawns topped on it are very crunchy and juicy. The mild amount of melted cheese really make it fragrant and not overly sauced. Scallops are also very juicy too. Restaurant is very cosy and spacious, service is prompt and friendly too.

 Providing many choices of Pasta, I was wondering which to be picked. At last, I decided to try out their signature Pasta. It came with an extremely generous serving of large, the shrimps was fresh and springy. Too bad, the broth was diluted and watery for me. It tasted all right, just that I prefer thicker version for the paste. $16.80 for it, the price was not low enough to accept this unimpressive Pasta.

Tried this Teriyaki Chicken Pizza at this Japanese Restaurant, Pasta de Waraku for the first time and it was unbelievably delicious. The main ingredients on the top are only Teriyaki Chicken, Seaweeds and Mayonnaise but yet it still tastes good when the pizza was placed in my mouth. However, the amount of Teriyaki Chicken on the top is really little and this can be seen in the photo. The environment of the restaurant is good as the place is well furnished.

I had always been tempted to try this dish since the first time I stepped into pasta de waraku. Hence, one day I decided to order it. And I discovered that it is really very good! The tofu is lightly steamed and placed in a thick cheesy sauce. It tastes really delicious! Cheese and mentai is a really good combination!

I was glad I listened to the waitress’s recommendations to try their prawn and scallop pizza. It is really awesome. The thin crust is very thin and very crispy. The pizza is topped with prawns and scallops which are very fresh. I especially loved the prawns since it is very crunchy and qq. The amount of cheese spread on top of the pizza is also quite substantial as well. The onions beneath the cheese also add a little sweetness to the pizza. I will definitely come back again for this!

Soft shell crab, asparagus scallop pasta and potato salad. The soft shell crab is really crispy but I find it very oily. I like this restaurant because they always have many types of special designed pasta which I would like to try all. Very surprised by the combination of asparagus and scallop. Highly recommended for all their pasta.

Have you ever tried Takoyaki Pizza?? There you are. I LIKE this fusion, special, creative and tasted nice too. the takoyaki is so fragrant we could smell it from far away. and the pickle vege on top added some extra mark for the pizza. so refreshing. the crust is thin one, a lil' crispy too. the sauce /dressing is my fav, it is the sauce served for takoyaki.

Had Lunch at Waraku, Novena

Ordered a couple of things:

Salmon - 3.5/5
Had their salmon, which was fresh and came in a pretty large portion. Nothing extraordinary but since i'm no expert in salmon, i found it to be pretty good.

Pepperoni Pizza - 3.5/5
I had always loved their prawn and scallop pizza, but decided to try something diff. this time. Ordered the pepperoni pizza which was made the traditional way; aka thin crust. Loved the pizza! However, dont expect too much since their pizzas are always made with the most minimalistic ingredients (there were only 4 slices of pepperoni and some pizza sauce)

Carbonara - 4/5
Carbonara has always been Waraku Pasta's signature dish and it sure lives up to its name! I loved the creamy white sauce that came with the pasta, and the spagetti was cooked to perfectiont- 'al dente!'

Most of their pastas came with and egg and so did mine. Once again, a very simple dish, consisting of a half cooked egg (where i always loved to take the pleasure of bursting the yolk) and bits of bacon with spagetti that boosts in taste.

When my date's pasta came (cant rmb what he ordered by it was some seafood pasta with clams and all) we were shocked to see that the egg was RAW.
When we asked the waiter to cook the egg, he came back with, well, a COOKED EGG. We were so tickled by it i could not stop laughing!


Corn Soup - 4/5
Came with the set meal. Loved the chunky bits of beans, and veggies in it. Soup was thick and creamy, just the way i liked!

Overall, this is a great place for affordable pasta! The pasta flavours here are numerous and very interesting. Do try the spicy prawn carbonara if you like a twinge of spice in your food.

However, the service was just terrible. The manager spoke in a very singlish manner (alot of chinese when our conversation was purely in english) and was very curt. Staff were curt and inattentive. We also had to wait very long for the bill to come and to be seated. The worst part was the unprofessionalism of the kitchen staff (raw egg). Although we were not particular about the egg, it would only be professional if the staff had given us a new plate with the half egg instead. Oh well.
