Earle Swensen's

The meatballs at Swensens are one of the best i have tasted as it is made up of real beef meat. The sauce that the meatballs cook in are also filled with great flavour and the mash potatoes by the side sre really smooth and tastety. The meatballs are bigger than the Ikea meatballs and i feel are more tastety too. Great for sharing as it can be quite filling if one is to be eating all of these meat balls.

Seafood platterBought my friends to eat at Swensen Vivo. We ordered a variety of dishes such as the Clayfish pasta, Seafood platter which cost $30 and a few ice-cream dishes. The seafood platter for one person contained squid, 2 tiger prawns, 2 clayfish, 1 dory fish and fried rice and this dish cost $30. Although the seafood platter presentation was nice, I felt the serving portion was simply too little, for the price of $30. Also, it tasted slightly bland.

Only the 3 dishes of ice-creams tasted nice. Also the ice-creams were creatively presented and serving portions were just nice.

I felt Swensens still have lots of room for improvement in terms of their Western cooked food. But when it comes to their ice-creams, the taste and quality is still there.

Also their staffs were not attentive at all. It took us considerable efforts before we can get their attention to get our plates and utensils for us to eat our ice-creams. In the first place, when they serve us the ice-creams, they should have get the plates and utensils for us too but they did not. This is an area that they should look into and improve on it as it certainly impacts the dining experience of their diners.

Swensens have a large variety of ice-cream flavours to choose from. They also have an extensive list of desserts and milkshakes that will leave you spoilt for choice! Their ice-cream cake are nice too but they are served frozen. It is quite hard to break it and eat it. I have to wait for a while for it to defrost because it is so hard that I cannot cut it up with the fork!

SGD 10(Tea)

This is my favourite food. I always eat it once or twice a year. Because its so damn expensive and i couldn't afford more times It is tasty because the rice is tasty, chicken is not too plain, and most of all, the cheese. Yumm! The cheese is sticky and add more cheese powder to it as i always do. The cheese powder always get used finished by us, whole bottle.

This is their fillet fish in white sauce baked with savory rice and generous melted cheese. It looks totally appealing to eat for lunch. And the fish inside it is quite long, and it is tasty with a slight black pepper taste in it. Of course we put some toppings on top of the whole baked rice to enhance the overall taste. They have different baked rice like beef, chicken and others more!

This is their clam chowder soup bowl. And on the outside is a sourdough bread bowl and inside there's baby clams, diced potatos, carrot, onions and celery in creamy soup! It is quite a big portion and can be shared among friends for the starter. And of course they do have other more main dishes and salads to choose from! However i'm pleased with the soup bowl they served! (:

This is one of my favourite dessert from Swensen. The thick sweet banana flavour sauce is very tasty and blend in very well with the brownies. The scoop of vanilla ice cream once melt in this dessert will make it even more fragrant and delicious as well. The slices of bananas make this dessert looks more colourful and also added that extra sweet fragrant from it. The price is reasonable and good to serve two adults for per portion.

The moment I step in to this restaurant, I was being warmly greeted by all the staffs which really make me feel warm and welcomed. From the food menu, I decided to try their spaghetti with tomato paste. The spaghetti is cooked till the correct texture which is not too soggy and very chewy. The tomato paste is very appetitizing and really tasty. The portion is quite generous and really have a great time at this restaurant.

At Earle Swensen's the prices on the menu are pretty expensive. After much thought I decided to order their double cheese burger. The portion is huge! I had to share it in the end. The meat patty is succulent and tastes good. With melted cheese on top it is really delicious! However, the portion is large hence it would be recommended if you share the burger

Earle Swensen's has a salad bar!! The salad bar has a wide variety of dishes that you can choose to put in your salad. Includes fruits and things like potato salad and of course, olives! I am a fan of olives. I particularly like their ham pasta salad. Which is made with sliced ham and cold pasta. Delicious!

This bruschetta taste great as it mixes tomato, some kind of sauce and some vegetables placed on top of a piece of bread; (pardon my limited vocabulary). i don't know how to describe this heavenly taste because i am an individual who dislikes tomatoes but you can almost not taste the tomatoes (in fact, the tomato tastes different from the normal tomatoes you eat) and it's sweet yet sour at the same time, a great combindation to tingle your taste buds!I am not too sure what this ice-cream is called because we anyhow ordered, but if you really wanna try this you can just show them this photo! Hmm i think it's a bit too creamy, the marcaroon is kind of soggy, not too sure if this is what you like (becuse my friends didn't) but i love it

Bought some vouchers and decided to give Swenson's another try and found that they have somewhat changed their menu.

I had a Black Pepper Grilled prawn . I thought the prawn was rather ok and the grilling method was on commercial grade. The baked rice was surprisingly nice and fragrant, my bf ordered that. Together with the prawn in black pepper, the meal was actually better than I expected!

My order comes with free flow salad bar and I'm not a fan of salad so I would only attack certain food. I tried some of their Thai tanghoon and it was hard! Like it's not cooked and softened enough. That was disappointing... The coleslaw was also ok. They also have a variety of crispy yummies that you can sprinkle over your greens to make them not-so-healthy but oh-so-yummy.

Though their food seemed to have improved, I'm not sure if we'll bee-line here when we are in Vivo.

unlimited salad from the salad bar, money-worthy I'd say. Food menu is different from regular Swensen's, more atas, more varieties, better choices of steaks. Tasty for its price. Will definitely go back there again. I took 6-7 times of salad from the bar and just couldnt stop it

Fish fillet with herb
The fish is really very nicely pan fried, I have never ate so crispy fish fillet before. The sauce looks a bit oily bit it doesn't taste greasy with the fish. The side is pan fried potato which is also tasted nice with the herb sauce.

The main course plus the drinks and salad bar only cost less than 20. And I'm so loving their salad bar, there are a lot of variety to choose!
