This place boosts of a very relaxing ambience totally suitable for gatherings between friends or simply unwinding after a long day. The restaurant is brightly-lit, and there is music in the background. As typical bar restaurant goes, the seats are leather-on-wood and low, so rest assured they are comfortable.

For chilling out, one can order their beers - my personal favorite is the Schwarzer - where they mix Weissbeer with Cola. I love the unique blend of bittersweet beer with Cola. This is my signature drink whenever I am at Brotzeit.

For those who would like to do dinner, trust that the German delicacies will please the taste-buds as well. If you are sharing, feel free to order the Brozeitplatte (platter) consisting of their famous pork knuckle, sausages, pork schnitzels (fillets) and two side dishes of choice (we chose potato salad and fries).

Or you can just order the pork knuckle on its own - the skin is crispy and the meat within is tender. The homemade sauce that comes with it enhances the taste greatly - it is a savoury sauce that contains a sourish hint.

The sausages come in different flavors and are very springy in form, so makes for great munchies over beers.

Was finding a nice place to chill around 313 somerset and me and my friends came to brotzeit.Really like the ambience here. very relaxing and nice place to catch up with your friends. As we wasn't very hungry that day, we only ordered wedges and a sausage set. I would say that their food standard is rather average, nothing fantastic about it but it isn't awful too. The hotdogs are nice and tasty but the fries and wedges are average. Each of us spend $8 (there are 3 of us) on this meal.Overall, i

Ordered the German sausage madness and the pretzel. Pretzel is a little hard and it is quite dry. At 3.00 a piece it is quite a huge portion for 1. The German sausage platter is filled with items boosting a robust flavoured meal. Super yummy and worth to order for sharing. At 17.90 is it pretty worth the order and perfect to be washed down with beer! Looking for a place to chill out after work this place is totally somewhere to check out!

Ordered the Knoblauchwurst / Garlic Pork Sausages at $17.50. The smoked garlic pork sausage has a hint of garlic, topped with roast potatoes and sauerkraut it adds additional flavour to the sausages enhancing the overall texture. The Brezn / Typical Bavarian pretzel at $3.00 is warm, soft and a typical slightly salted pretzel. Overall the food here is great for dinner and beer.

For 2 people sharing these 2 dishes, it was extremely filling. Even though its pork knuckle is different from the ones I had back in Germany (those were the softer kind), it was still a good dish to have. One thing though, I didn't really like the sauerkraut after taking more than 5 mouthfuls of it, as it's sourness became quite overpowering (or maybe I was too full
) Highly recommended to go try!

I prefer the mashed potato than the sausage, and the cabbages beside was marinated by vinegar I think was nice too. The pork sausage was slightly burnt, too salty for me.

We like the pizza most. It was the signature dish for the restaurant. Mozzarella cheese baked along with Bacon, Onions, and Tomatoes, surprisingly it consisted of Chilli Paddy inside.

It would be better if there was air-cond there, because it was quite stuffy when we having our meal there and the lightning were not sufficient too. We enjoyed our time anyway. Somehow I like to chat with somebody who are mature, their perspectives towards the topic we discussed were different and I felt I can gain something from them.

Known as one of the places to get awesome pork knuckles, that fact simply cannot be disputed. I still frequent Brotzeit for their knuckles. Often, the portion is still too big for 2 to share. Tried the curry wurst, which was just a wurst with curry powder peppered on top of it. Nothing too impressive, and the wurst wasn't anything special, neither was it extremely yummy. Will definitely give this a skip.

Lighting was very bad because of the outdoor area. It is a very good idea to order cold beers, because of the humidity, and also because nothing goes better with such greasy food than beers!
If you're lucky, there will be a live band playing, which only happened the one time I was there out of the three.

This $88 platter is more than enough for 4 pax. For the other table, i saw 7 army bowls sharing one platter. It consists different kinds of sausages (with cheese etc), pork cutlet and one big pork knuckles. Also We get to choose the 2 sides.

Another main and recommended dish to order is definitely the pork knuckles and this is what german cuisine is all about! Love the pork knuckles' crispiness. Heavenly though the skin is about rough and hard to bite. If you dip the meat into the sauce that comes with it, we will all want to go back again. the bad thing is that they did not have sauerkraut in the meal.

This is one of the sides that we have chosen. The other is the potatoes wedges which i find it very normal.

Service
Service is moderate.

Ambience
Like the open air windy dining area on the 1st floor. However perhaps it was earth hour that is why I was feeling quite hot with candles and no aircon. 2nd floor was more of pub resemblance.

Price
A enormous portion for me! Price not only tells us about how great the portion is but also their standard, qualities of food. I will rate them as reasonable pricing.

Recommendations / Tips
Beer is a must try

The pork knuckle looked pretty impressive and huge. Its skin was so crispy such that you can probably still hear the crunch amidst all the live music and beer talk. I found it to be rather tasteless though, even with the sauce that they provided, the pork knuckle seemed less flavourful compared to the one I had at Aust Wine: Cafe & Wine Bar. The sausages were rather small too and the lamb schnitzel was just dry and tough. Well, perhaps German food is not exactly the kind of food that I fancy.

My friends recommended me to try out their Affensaft ($12.50) which is basically a mixture of mango juice and German beer. You can even ask for more Mango juice if you want it a little sweeter. While it had a rather unique taste to it, I kinda prefer lychee beer if I want to go for something sweet.

to be honest, this was just A LOT of meat. The sausage platter option was good.every single one was juicy and full on flavour. The pork knuckle was satisfyingly crisp andso dangerously fatty. It's good but eat at your own risk. The pork schnitzel I wish, could be thickerbut then that'd hardly be a schnitzel already.it was good. and the breaded exterior added for crunch. If you are those who do not really like your pizza dough to be thick and compact in texture, then the pizza here at Brotzeit will be able to suit you. The pizza dough here is more towards the thinner version, which is almost like tasting a piece of crunchy biscuit or cracker. The cheese and the different types of ingredients topped on it are very fresh and fragrant. Overall was really not too bad except that the price of is it quite expensive and may not be suitable for everyone's budget.

Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant is among the few restaurants in Singapore that serve authentic German / Bavarian food. Their Sausage Platter is a good sampler of the various types of German sausages. There are 5 different varieties; a spicy chicken sausage (Huhnerwurst), a cheese pork sausage (Kasekrainer), a garlic pork sausage (Knoblauchwurst), a mix veal and pork sausage (Weisswurst), and a traditional pork bratwurst sausage (Nurnberger).
