Fish balls and Sardine puffs
Smile 2013-03-11

Snack time is always fun and filling with the delicious snacks you can find at Old Chang Kee. Just as I was heading home after my shopping at Jurong Point, I decided to pick up a couple of snacks for the kids. So I went to Old Chang Kee and picked up fish balls on a stick and a couple of Sardine puffs.

When I got home the kids were really happy to see I had bought them each their favorite snacks and they happily began eating them. The fish balls were nice and fresh and very chewy and delicious. And the Sardine puffs were hot and crispy and very delicious to eat.

Sardine Puff : $1.40 x 2
Fish Ball : $1.40

Although, the snacks have gone up by 0.10 cents they will still remain one of our favorite and will continue eating and relishing them smile

Chee Cheong Fun
Smile 2013-02-22

This is a must-have breakfast for me as the chee cheong fun is warm and it has a soothing effect eating when you just woke up. I simply love their sauce because apart from those sweet sauce that they used, they also added some sesame oil that adds fragrant to the overall dish. The chee cheong fun is soft and smooth and it makes one want to have more of it. Therefore, this is a great choice for breakfast.

Curry O'
Smile 2013-02-20

Curry puff is one of my favourite snack because the piping hot curry puff is so crispy on the outside and the curry filling is so fragrant and flavorful. My favorite part of the curry puff is the crust outside as it is so crispy and and crunchy. There were chicken meat and egg in the curry filling which makes one satisfy after eating it. This curry puff is so nice and everyone should give it a try. smile

evening snack
Smile 2012-07-27

I stopped by Old Chang Kee for an evening snack, normally in the evenings, we need to Q up to buy a snack from Old Chang kee. I picked up my favorite mushroom Chicken puff. It costs just 1.3 $. It is an awesome snack & really filling. The filling is a nice creamy mushroomy & saucy once with shrooms, chicken, potato & some veggies prepared with some white sauce. The outer crust is crispy & really tasty. This is one of the less oily snacks at Old Chang Kee. I love to hve the Chicken mushroom puff with my evening cup of tea.

Curry Puff
Smile 2012-06-09

This curry puff from Old Chang Kee is delicious, especially when eaten hotlollollol The fillings were generous, with loads of potato, chicken and sauce. The potatoes are so soft and tasty. The chicken were chewy. They just tasted so good with the skin. The skin crust isn't too thick such that it covers the taste of the fillings. It is definitely worth the money since it actually fills my stomachtongue The service was fast and good.

porridge
Smile 2012-03-07

I like old change kee "You tiao" and "curry puff".
The curry puff is very crispy, and i really like the inf=gredient inside.
The you tiao is big in size and it taste nice too.
I also order porridge to eat with this "you tiao".
The porridge is just normal, nothing special, but it taste quite nice with the youtiao.
The fried small onion on the top of porridge also increase the tastiness of porridge.

Prawn from OCK
Just OK 2012-01-24

I bought this prawn from Old chang kee at boon lay, jurong point. This has been my favourite ever since old chang kee made its inception to outlets in singapore. However, my personal observation is that the prawn seem to be degrading in quality. It seems very different when compare in the past where the prawn are much better. This stick contain up to 4 prawn. It is also one of the expensive 'sticks' in the outlet too. smile

Oily oily Squid on stick
Cries 2011-12-08

I regret buying this. sad Not that fantastic at all. It was really oily, tasted as if it had been left there to soak in its own oil for some time. Not fresh and the squid was quite tough although I chose the body instead of the legs (usually the more tough part). Furthermore, there were very few pieces of meat on the stick! sad

Cheesy Chicken Sausage
Smile 2011-10-31

After school today, I dropped by Jurong Point for a while and came across....OLD CHANG KEE!
Decided to give the cheesy chicken sausage a try as I've heard good reviews about it.

I devoured the 4 pieces of sausage within 2 minutes!
It definitely was delicious and very cheesy lol
However, it was a little too oily though!
I suppose that's the norm in Old Chang Kee!

Other than that, no complains!
Great place to grab a snack from smile

Sardine Curry Puff
Smile 2011-10-09

I always order the curry puff instead of others like this sardine puff or the chicken mushroom one because the curry'O is larger and thus I always felt it to be more worth it than the others. One day, I decided to try the sardine puff and it was really a great change. The sardine filling was really delicious. It was not too spicy or salty, neither was it too bland.

Carrot K8
Smile 2011-08-24 (Related Review)

Call me stupid, but it took me 5 seconds to realise "Carrot K8" is pronounced as "Carrot Cake", lol.

Anyway, I'm a big fan of the regular square carrot cake from old chang kee. I love the fried skin of the carrot cakes and the only problem I have with the regular carrot cake is that I'll get sick of the centre area, where it is all normal carrot cake.

The carrot K8 solves the problem. It is the sliced version of the regular carrot cake then fried. It ensures that I don't get sick of it while I'm eating, at the same time, it facilitates easy eating lol It costs only $1.10, 10cents more expensive than the regular carrot cake if I'm not wrong, but its totally worth.

To sum up, there is no taste difference between K8 and regular carrot cake. Its just a matter of preference so do give it a try and decide which type of carrot cake you prefer! smile

Chicken Wing
Smile 2011-08-10 (Related Review)

Whenever I'm craving for fried chicken wings, I'll definitely purchase it from Old Chang Kee. By buying from Old Chang Kee, I don't have to worry about purchasing dry chicken wings that are hard to chew and swallow.

The fried chicken wings served at Old Chang Kee are juicy, crispy and tender. All of that at an affordable price of $1+. It is also perfect to go with rice.

Curry Puff
Smile 2011-08-10

The curry puff is probably the most well known signature dish of Old Chang Kee. The curry puff consists of generous fillings of egg, chicken and potatoes. It has a crispy texture although often the crust of the curry puff is too thick and the flour taste overpowers the nice smell of curry puff.

Its a relatively filling item to have for breakfast at a low price of $1.20,

Old Chang Kee! :)
Just OK 2011-07-06

Old Chang Kee is like The place to go to each time you need a quick bite in between rushing for classes or work. They sell a wide assortment of snacks at a really low price. Sinful, but its so readily available, you are bound to come upon an Old Chang Kee stall practically anywhere you go to. Its nice but I try to avoid it as much as I can (to no avail) as it can be quite heaty for the body. Haha

seaweed chicken
Just OK 2011-05-22 (Related Review)

Everything used to be really hot and fresh from old chang kee but recently most food i bought from there are just mere warm and not as fresh as it used to be. I ordered zi cai ji, a really wonderful invention. The seaweed wrapped around the chicken simply taste awesome. Although it is just warm, it taste good already. But then, i miss the time when it is so hot that hot juice will burst out from the chicken. That is really awesome.
