Toast Box is another eatery that belongs to the Breadtalk Group Limited and have been going very strong lately with increasing number of shop seen. Being in Jurong Point countless times, this is my first visit to Toast Box Outlet.

Order two sets meal at $5.80 and $5.00.

Set Meal $5.00 consists of a drink, 2 eggs and 2 half slices of butter toast.
2 small plates are provided and having let the opportunity to the customers to crack the eggs themselves.

The 2 half boil eggs are substandard. One of the egg yolk is hardened while the other is fine and passable. Soy sauce & pepper were placed on the table by default to facilitate customers in adding the seasonings to a suitable flavour.

We had a cup of hot and another cup of cold barley. Sweetness is mild and there are no signs of barley grains.

The toasts are sandwiched with a piece of butter. Crispy and "ironed" with some brownish look on the outside. Also, when you bring them closer to your nose, there are some soury smell. When I looked up onto their cupoards, long loaf of bread were placed there. And that is the bread they used.

The $5.80 meal consists of the egg noodle with luncheon meat & half a boiled egg. Taste is not much difference from a packet of instant noodle. This was chosen as Mee Rebus was sold out.
The soup is light with seasoning and finely cut spring onions. Luncheon meat is deep fried and turn soggy after soaking a while in the soup.

Queues were long at about 4pm on a Saturday afternoon. Environment was packed with occupied tables and chairs. Tables and chairs are of smaller sizes and we have to take note not to rub our elbows against each other (we were sharing table) when dinning.

A buzzer were given to customers who needs to wait for their order. Once its light up, we will have to collect the food from the counter. All along, self service was practised. The clearing up of emptied plates and cups were done shortly after customers left.

Overall, I will say I have an average dinning encounter here.

Healty Breakfast @ Toast Box
Just OK 2013-03-09

I need to meet my friend in the early morning in Jurong Point, so me and my boyfriend decided to have a breakfast in Toast Box. My boyfriend ordered a traditional breakfast set; two eggs, a cup of tea and a pork floss toast. The temperature of the tea is just nice so that you can drink it fast (in case you are in rush for work). However, it took some time for them to prepare for the toast if there is a crowd.
I ordered a nasi lemak and a cup of horlick. I didn't enjoy the nasi lemak as it is very troublesome to remove the fish bones out and there is no peanut inside! The price is slightly expensive than normal coffee shop (of course!), my nasi lemak actually cost around $2.40.

I was having a mild sore throat so my girlfriend urged me not to eat the thick toast at toast box as it was pretty crispy. instead she ordered me the butter sugar soft bun instead. never tried this before so it was a new experience. the bun was very soft and fluffy. its centre is spread with butter and sugar. the sugar gives the bun a crunchy texture. the butter made it taste very smooth. as a whole i was very satisfied.

breakfast the great way to start the day
Smile 2013-01-28

i went with my sister to Toast Box for breakfast. It is good to start the day with breakfast so your brain can have energy to function. Anyways, i ordered their french toast while she got her favourite peanut butter thick toast. i like my french toast one a lot. it was well coated and they topped it off with butter. as the bread was pretty hot, the butter melted when i glide my toothpick across. it was really filling,

just one slice.

Tea time
Smile 2012-07-27

This time I wanted a cold tea,

since I was out in the heat all day. SO I went to toast box & ordered for a Bundung with pearls. It costs about 2.1$. It had loads of ice in it,it was chilled, perfectly sweet & very refreshing, especially since it was a hot day in Singapore. However, I din't like the pearls in the bandung. They were kinda hard & not chewy like they are supposed to be. They were rubbery. I loved the bandung, but not the pearls. I remember having Bandung at Toastbox before, but I also remember that the pearls were nice & chewy. .....

Toast Box
Smile 2012-07-08

Being a fan of toast, I frequent Toast Box quite often for their delicious thick toast bread. I ordered the peanut butter toast which costs $1.90. The toast bread is spread generously with peanut butter. The bread is toasted at the right temperature which enhances the moisture and crispiness of it. There are many other flavours to choose from and the prices vary at $1.80 to $2.20 for the different choices.

Coffee
Smile 2012-06-29

Toast box is another regular hangout for good coffee whether alone or with good friends. They expertly served every cup of coffee well by making effort to ensure the balance of the ingredients like coffee powder, sugar and milk are added in right amount. Their standard has been quite consistent so far. I have had many cups of good coffee from Toast Box and yet to be disappointed. Recommended.

Milo
Smile 2012-04-13

During my evening tea time, which is a habit for me, I decided to go to my favourite place ' Toast Box'. I ordered for a Milo -hot. I tried Milo at many other places before, but none compare to a Milo from "Toast Box'. Its so perfect, in terms of richness, sweetness, thickness & quality. If you have not tried the Milo at 'Toast Box' , You have definitely missed out on the best Milo in town. You have to try the Milo at ' Toast Box'.

For the laksa
Smile 2012-03-22

A heaping bowl of goodness: a flavourful coconut laksa booth for your spicy craving.

Long story short, this is my new favourite place for cheap eats with air conditioning. Laksa is solid here and the quality has always been consistent. The coconut curry soup base is fragrant but not heavy. what i like about it they serve with mee tai map, very chewy and not too soft, goes well with the gravy.

For only sgd5.50 comes with a huge cup of barley, all day long. a real steal.

Tips for you all, request for additional laksa gravy, you will not get enough of it!

chocolate cherry cake
Smile 2012-03-10

Everytime I go to toast box, I would either order their toast or their main course. I would not even think of ordering their cakes. However, this time I went to toast box with my parents and they ordered 3 slices of cake to go with the hot beverage. It turned out pretty good. I had the cherry chocolate cake. The chocolate sponge cake was really soft and moist. They added cream to make the cake taste smooth. it was not too sweet, nor did it have any bitter taste. in fact I actually like it, it was light and refreshing, went well with the teh-c.

Apparently their nasi lemak is really delicious. the rice itself is very fragrant. The chicken wing is really good. it is deep fried on the outside, the batter they coat the chicken wing is very fragrant. The meat inside is a little oily but very juicy. there is also a fried egg and some ikan bilis. I love their sambal. Not too spicy and very sweetish. A must try at toastbox!

my friend ordered the peanut butter toast. it was really good. the peanut butter was not too sweet and the coat they spread on the bread was not too thick. it was very fulfilling! it was worth waking up early!

Laksa @ Toastbox
Cries 2011-06-20

From the outside, the setting of the restaurant brought us back to the coffee shops in the old days, those that we see in old photographs, but now in air conditioned comfort. My friend and i decided to try the laksa and curry chicken dishes which looked so yummy and impressive on the poster menu. The floor and tables were quite dirty. There was a chicken bone under our table and spills on the table. ): Service was great, the food came fast. The bowls of food are not as big as those shown on the menus. My friend had had the chicken curry set while I had the laksa set which came together with a barley drink. I love the barley drink, it was thick and natural. The laksa tasted normal. I was disappointed that the noodles was mee tai mah. I prefer the thick beehoon. The lady at the counter did not even ask what I preferred. The ingredients was a huge disappointment. There were no cockles and eggs at all! ): And it was just filled with tau pok, fishcakes and bean sprouts and the gravy. My friend's chicken curry only had two pieces of winglets. It was not even the full wing! shocked Now i know why most people only eat the toast and drink the coffee at Toastbox! The main dishes' sets are not worth the price of about six dollars each!

Ice Milo
Just OK 2011-05-31

Was tired after shopping so I went to Toast Box for a drink with my friend. I ordered ice milo and the milo there is really thick! I'm not a fan of milo dino or any milo drinks that are very thick so I find this a little to heavy for my liking. My friend loved it though, saying that it was sweet enough and the milo taste is strong. The place is a little crowded especially during the weekends.

toast box
Smile 2011-03-21

I love the toast at toast box. The thick slab of bread coated with a thick layer of peanut butter. Totally sinful and fattening. But it is so nice that you will completely forget how fattening it is and just enjoy eating the whole thing. The spread is kind of sweet but with the thick slice of bread, it somehow neutralizes the sweetness. A great breakfast to kick start a long day!
