For sumptuous food, service and ambience, Aquamarine is the place.
Thanks to my daughter who had purchased a High Tea at Aquamarine deal from Groupon. Aquamarine offers assorted salads, an array of sushi, satisfying main course such as Chicken Rice, beef and fish, soups and rojak etc. They have a superb range of desserts, beautifully presented.
The place can be very cold. So, be prepared. This place is definitely worth going to.

Hightea Buffet
Just OK 2013-04-10

Bought vouchers from deal to celebrate my friend's birthday with their high tea buffet lunch. Since I have tried their lunch and dinner buffet in the past, I had high hopes of nice food that late afternoon. But I was a little disappointed in it.
This is my plate of appetisers and sushi.

The sushi was alright but tasted like any other sushi outside and was not special in anyway. The appetisers are not bad and my friends took a round of their salad. I wasn't exactly a salad fan so no salad for me XD

This is my plate of cooked food.

Ok lets just say, if you are serious about offering some sort of dim sum for high tea, you might as well add in the common har gao or siew mai instead of lor mai gai and lotus paste pau(though both are not bad). The cooked food was passable.

And finally the desserts, it was the part where I was most disappointed at.

The only nice dessert on the plate was the egg tart and the chcoltate tart with strawberries on top. The rest tasted a little weird or just normal desserts. Being a fan of good desserts, I was really hoping for delicious desserts since it was a high tea buffet, but Aquamarin disappointed me.

The only dish that I went for second round was its Cream of Brocolli which was really tasty.

Halal Buffet
Smile 2013-03-14

Aquamarine is a Halal restaurant in Marina Mandarin that serves an international buffet. When we went for dinner, they had a Thai theme for the restaurant in addition to the usual buffet menu.

We had a starter with a thai salad, some fried cheese ball and in the shot glass is a creamy chicken mix with a cracker. My favorite is the chicken mix. It's creamy with chunks of chicken that works well with the crispy cracker.

This is their coconut base chicken soup. It's very nice, creamy and not too overwhelming.

The sticky rice mango dessert is very nice! The mangos are sweet and there is a small bit of yam and crunchy crackers (I think they're crackers or something like cereal) which is really YUMMY (overused word).

Fresh oyters, prawn, tasty sushi . A lot variety of various seafood and petite savoury sweets desserts available!
If you are a big fan of these two different categories of food, you will enjoy eating here!
Whats better than eating at a place where they serve small size of food for tasting ? This way you wouldnt waste food and further more you could taste a lot more of different food available. Really value for money considering the fact that buffet is to eat a wide variety of food smile.

Nice Buffet
Just OK 2012-07-15

My Second Trip to Aquamarine, this time round , the spread is good.
Buffet spread was rather good. The oysters were huge and fatty. Plently of cold seafood on ice.

Sashimi cuts were fresh. Didn't really eat much mains. But the chill crab was good, same goes for the pork knuckles. The tempura prawn was great.

Desserts wise - wide selection of ice cream, mousses and cakes. Cheese variety was rather limited but considering its a weekday dinner buffet, it's acceptable.

Overall, this place deserves a visit.

International Buffet

This restaurant is really beautiful and the service staffs here are really friendly and approachable. Enjoyed most of the cooked dishes here such as their stir fry rice noodles, mixed vegetables and stewed beef. The rice noodles is chewy and with lots of diced peanuts and sesame flavour in it which give it a thai few taste. The beef meat is very juicy and tender with really nice dark sauce gravy cook to it. The vegetables are very crunchy and you wil be attracted by the colourful presentation on the buffet spread. Moreover, they still have lots of cakes, pastries and icecream served on the buffet spread which you just can't stop eating!

The restaurant layout is really spacious and the design is more towards the 'sea' feel. A very soothing and relaxing venue to have a lovely high-tea with your loves one. I have tried several types of desserts from their buffet spread and I can say most of it suits my taste really well. Especially like to eat their different ranges of square type fresh cream cakes which really soft on their sponge and not to sweet. The apply tart is quite crunchy for the crust and the apple slices on top of the pie is also still remain some crunchiness to it and not too sweet. Overall have really enjoy my trip to this restaurant.

The layout is poor however; it is more about the buffet.
AquaMarine is really under the radar! A hidden but wonderful find. It’s the kind of buffet with good dishes that you keep going for multiple helpings.

Aquamarine has few customers as compared to other hotel buffets of similar prices, but that doesn't stop them from offering a good and fresh variety of food. You don't have to compete with other diners for the seafood, unlike at certain places. I actually wonder what they do with the all the uneaten food at the end of the night...

Buffet Lunch Treat
Smile 2011-10-09

I was treated to a sumptuous buffet lunch at Marina Mandarin Hotel Aquamarine Restaurant for my birthday. It was really value-for-money as we went for the 1-for-1 deal. Here's a glimpse of some of the food available at the buffet.

   Great sushi/Jap spread

The seafood served were very fresh & tasty!

The hot food section with nasi lemak ingredients

   Dessert selection

   More desserts!

   Yummy Yam ice cream

Most of the food served were of great quality. I like the Japanese section and desserts section very much. The sushi and sashimi were very fresh & tasty. I asked the chef for a plate of mixed fish sashimi, & he gave me salmon, swordfish & tuna. Frankly I always only dare to eat salmon sashimi but the swordfish & tuna were really fresh & delicious too! I didn't regret asking for a mixed plate.tongue My colleagues helped themselves to a lot of the fresh seafood available too. At the desserts section, the most attractive food to me was the Durian Pudding hehe. It was quality durian! Of course the ice cream too, especially the yam flavour! smile

Some of the food that you may miss include: the rojak, as the sauce was too salty and the youtiao too tough; the char siew puff; and the beef at the first cooked food section which was quite tough.

If you have time for a sumptous buffet lunch, don't hesitate anymore, just come here. smile

Aqua Marine

For the price you are paying, this buffet is overrated. Basically what it serves is very simple local dishes that you can easily find in hawker centers and other international dishes of the same standard as those you can easily obtain in shopping malls around Singapore. I guess you are paying for being able to sample a little bit of everything all at once.

For the Chinese cuisine section, the duck and roast pork was nice, though the vegetables were abit hard and the dimsum wasn’t well made. For the curry section, most of the curries weren’t as fragrant as what you can find outside, however, as they also cater to international diners, I guess not everybody can take the kind of spice. For the western food section, the steak was well done (so if you prefer them medium rare then you can skip this dish). The good thing about their spaghetti was they cook it on the spot for you, so its hot and you can choose what you want to go into the sauce. At the same counter, you can also get hot plate beef which is FANTASTIC. That would be the one dish I would say made the whole dinner satisfactory after all. For the vietnamnese/ thai section, the rice cakes were cold and hard, the crackers were exposed too long and the samosas weren’t crispy anymore.

The desserts comprised of local varieties such as ondeh ondeh, 9layer kueh, egg tarts etc. and the international section were mostly small cakes and a tonne cream stuff. The ice cream was a mere few flavours and they tasted like our no frills ice cream from NTUC.

What saved the entire experience (apart from the beef)was the service. I celebrated my birthday there with my family and the staff brought out a slice of cake and sang a birthday song for me and were generally very happy to do so (much unlike the unpleasant experience in Shangrila).

Overall, taste would be a 7.5/10, variety 8/10, service 9/10 and ambience 9/10.

Buffet Lunch @ AQUAMARINE
Just OK 2011-06-29

Japanese foods at AQUAMARINE are very fresh and delicious. Other than their Japanese foods, I think the rest of the foods are alright. Buffet includes free flow coffee and tea as well. The environment is very nice and relaxing. Great venue for couples, family and friends gathering. Some credit cards also have incredible promotion for this lunch buffet too. My verdict: 6/10

Marina Mandarin - Aquamarine
Smile 2011-05-19

A unique concept restaurant serving a sumptuous international buffet/cuisines alongside an enticing array of a la carte seafood and local delight/favourites.

Singapore is known as buffet paradise, everybody loves buffets. As a food reviewer, I dropped by here to visit this buffet restaurant this afternoon for lunch.

This is a beautiful restaurant with outstanding looks and modern touch. The decor setting at Aquamarine made me feel blue. Nice environment compared to Shangri-la Hotel or Marriot Hotel.

The good thing about eating in a hotel is that there's plenty of space.

The seafood at Aquamarine is extraordinary.

Sashimi cuts were fresh and was quite impressed.

Roasted section was good such as roast duck.

Desserts wise - wide selection of ice cream, mousses and cakes.

Overall, I just to comment that the food and service quality here are consistently good.

Based on the price I pay for at 5-star hotel, I think it's really good value for buffet and nice place for seafood lover.

As a conclusion, Aquamarine is a convenient stop for a buffet with families before embarking on an afternoon of shopping at Marina Square.

I like this place because of the serene environment for dinner where we can start our dinner in a relax way from 6.30am to 11pm. The food has a wide variety spread. It ranges from Japanese corner, Indian corner, Asia corner, Seafood corner, Pastries and dessert corner. I love the fresh sashimi, fresh oysters, scallps, big-headed prawns and other shells seafood in steamed or fried form. There is also the fried chilli or pepper crabs, beef, mutton, chinese or western soup, salad, barbeque chicken, duck, vegetables, lots of fresh fruits, wide range of pastries, cakes, dessert, ice-cream.

Recommended Dish(es):
