International Buffet Delight
Smile 2013-02-23
The Food
Being rated as Singapore best buffet, I decided to try this dinner International buffet which serves International cuisines

Seafood Section
Featuring fresh lobsters, prawns, oysters, mussels and scallops. My favourite will be the prawns and oysters as is very fresh, big and juicy. I found the lobster meat a bit too chewy and tad too tasteless. They had lemons for us to squeeze as well for the oysters.

Japanese Section.
Featuring cold noodles, sushi, sashimi (tuna, yellow tail, salmon). My favourite will be the yellow tail sashimi as it was sliced thickly and most important are very fresh

Indian Section
Featuring all sorts of curry, briyani, and a very good spread of naan breads!

BBQ Corner
Featuring satays, grilled lamb, sausages, chicken, beef, portobello mushrooms and I was surprised they had a roasted suckling pig too.

Dessert Corner
Featuring Homemade icecream, belgian waffles, chocolate fountain, fresh fruits, DIY ice kachang, cakes, nonya kuehs and so on.

The Service
The service at Melt The World Cafe, is excellent as every time as I stood up and threw my napkin onto my seat and every single time I am back at my table, the napkin is nicely folded and placed at the side of my table. They also never failed to let my glass of water stay empty for too long, and cleared all my plates promptly without being intrusive hence tt brought my entire dining experience to another level.

The Ambience
What I enjoyed most about is the ambience and the decors with dim lighting. Perfect dining experience!!

The Price
Even though the price is very expensive at ($68++) but is definitely worth it for the ambience, wide variety of food to choose from and excellent service.

Overall
I will definitely come back again to try with my family and highly recommended to try !!

Fresh Oyster & Prawns
Smile 2013-02-20
This buffet restaurant is really comfortable and the service staffs here are always smiling and approachable. One of my favourite section here is their cold dishes section. The oysters here are very fresh and chewy, with their in-house chilli sauce on it, it is definitely the perfect appetitizer to have before having the main course and desserts. The cold prawns are also crunchy and sweet too.

Lunch Buffet!
Smile 2012-07-27
Tried Melt's lunch buffet on a particular weekday last month! For $56++, it's worth the money, and even better if you can eat alot! Remember to ask if they have any credit card promotion!

There were many sections of the buffet, pasta, appetizers (salads, sushi, cheese to go with bread etc), main course (like meat, fish, veg), waffles station, cakes, desserts, chocolate fondue and fruits! Really too many choices to choose from!

My partner and I focused mainly on the desserts, fruits and waffles.. our first dish was waffles! The waffles come with ice cream of your choice, it was really yums! we attempted to try every cake that was displayed, but unfortunately we were quite full by then because most of the cakes were the chocolatey kind and a mouth or two of each type would be extremely filling, but do try the chocolate souffle (at the waffles counter)!

Service was exemplary! Everytime we walked off to take more food, the staff would refill our cups and fold our napkins and would have cleared the plates.

Best Buffet I had so far
Smile 2012-07-23
I managed to take pictures for almost all of the food: http://madamechewy.wordpress.com/2012/07/10/melt-the-world-cafe-buffet-dinner/

Visited Melt at Mandarin Oriental Hotel for a dinner buffet with 2 girlfriends back in mid 2010. Wide variety, tasty, and the dessert section is to die for. Cost about $80 per pax after a credit card promotion discount.

The buffet is divided into different sections:

Western Desserts, Asian desserts, Fruits

Noodles, Pasta and craved meats

Indian

Western

Asian

Japanese, salads and cheeses

Cold seafood

Aglio olio pasta with fresh juicy scallops and mushroom, the must-try waffles with chocolate chip and chocolate ice cream, chocolate lava cake

Went to Melt on another occasion, this time on a weekend. On weekends, Melt has freshly prepared bbq foods by several chefs. The bbq pit is located outdoors

A waitress would take your order and table number. There is a display of raw foods which you can choose from.

The foods available are:

Eggplant

Sasauge

Fish

Prawns

Crayfish

Chicken

Lamb

Satay: beef, lamb, chicken

Cereal
Smile 2012-06-26
Cereal is usually one of an ideal choice for most of our breakfast. As for me, i also enjoy the different types of cereals offer in this restaurant buffet breakfast. i like to eat their crunchy corn cereal in the cold fresh milk. moreover, i also like to add in the raisins in it which will add on the natural sweetness from the raisins too. Is nutrition and delicious at the same time.

Buffet At Melt The World Cafe
Just OK 2012-04-10

Wanted to have a luxury nice buffet meal with your loves one? Think Melt the world cafe will be one of the ideal choice. Very wide variety of foods, desserts, apettizers, cold dishes and drinks are available for their buffet. The service staffs here are very friendly and attentive towards all your request. They are quite popular for their crispy waffle with home made ice cream for their buffet. The waffle is only made upon your request and you will be glad to see the wide range of ice cream fo you to choose to eat with the waffle. Lots of ice cream toppings are available for your selection as well. The price of their buffet may be quite high, but you may feel the worth of your money after your first visit.

Melt The World Café
Smile 2011-11-03
This is our second trip here,i'm a buffet lover
as you can get to eat differences variety of foods
They have an incredible selection of cheeses, breads& grilled antipasti.
They also have parma ham with the slices displayed on top. The quality was good ,deep red hue & not overly salty.
their duck rillette -an entire terrine dish of fatty goodness
they have a good selection of sashimi & sushi too
their smoked salmon is good too, especially since they provide mini bagels & chive cream cheese for you to assemble your very own smoked salmon &cream cheese bagel.
Overall i rate 8/10

spoil yourself
Smile 2011-10-13
I have been eating a lot of sinful breakfast lately. This time I went to melt the world café. Since my daddy was treating, my sister and I could help but stuffed ourselves silly with all the food. This was an international buffet so the spread had almost everything. Out of all the food, my favourite section was the dessert section. There were all kind of sweet stuffs, ranging from cakes to waffles to ice cream. The cakes were such a heart warmer, it was so good, totally moist! The price here is kind of steep though, but if you wanna spoil yourself. This is the place!

International Buffet Dinner
Smile 2011-07-13
At The Oriental, they have very nice International buffet at Melt The World Cafe. The environment is nice and spacious, great for makan gatherings with friends and family! The different food ranges of the buffet spreads are display at almost all areas of the restaurant, almost like playing 'hide-and-seek'. They are specialist in their desserts, especially thick cream cakes and also their ice-cream with hand made waffles. Two thumbs up! My verdict: 7/10

Outstanding Buffet
Smile 2011-03-30
This is the most expensive buffet till now, coz around 200 for 2 person during weekend.
Service is excellent and super great, when u get there, their crew will show u where is for indian food , where is grill , where is hot dish.... a short presentation and with good attitude.
Taste is really good, better than average, even compare with other brand name hotel buffet. it is good and with many variation, got grill, roast chichen, japanese dish, lobster, and the food u dont need to quene or stand by for waiting lobster........you dont need to quene for all of the food, even lobster, u can pick whenever food u want n dont need to quene, they keep refesh and refill all the food even lobster, when i left around 2200 but lobster still refesh n refill. This is quite good and nice.
Place is quite good and not really close to other table.
although price is around 100 per head, i still think it is worth and reasonable, i am sure will back n dinning again. i think u need for a try, once u did, u will think the rest of other hotel buffet just ok or average.

Yummy satays
Smile 2010-12-29
Melt is one of the most expensive buffet i tried. The buffet range was huge, there was quite a lot of food for you to choose from.I had a bit of everything but what really catches my attention/tongue bud was the chicken satays. The chicken satay came with big chunk of chickens, it did not have those oily fat chunks, It is as if the chicken satay was made with 1 whole strip of chicken meat and not small bits. The peanut gravy was normal as compared to the chicken satay. They are well grilled, no charred parts, they were hot, juicy and tender as well. The most food i had there was the chicken satays, really addictive

Melt the world cafe buffet
Smile 2010-12-22
This is one of the best and most expensive buffet i have tried so far. There is a wide array of food .And the overall standard is good for most of the food here. They have a interesting outdoor bbq corner, where they serve roasted pork knuckles, roasted corn, satays.I was wow-ed by their cold seafood selection. There was a big section cut in the middle of the restaurant, filled with cold oysters, scallops, prawns and baby lobsters.I wasnt a big fan of cold seafood but i could see that a lot of the diners loved the cold seafood corner,it has the most queue.Melt is a truly authentic international buffet, there were indian, thai, chinese dishes and many more.I love the thai style stir fry prawns, the prawns are big and fresh and taste real good with the thai sauce. They also had a cheese and salad bar with many varieties. My favourite here is their desserts, they have a wide variety of desserts, and even a hot on the spot made waffle station where you could request for waffles topped with ice-cream/toppings of your choice. The staff here are all very friendly and passionate, water constantly replenished and empty plates cleared on time. They make it a point to ask for your name before you start eating, when you are about to leave, they address you by your name and bid you goodbye, very good manners they have.smile
