Secret Recipe

I dislike pastries in general but many thanks to giving both Secret Recipe and myself a chance, I feel that disliking pastries might be becoming a thing of the past! There is nothing not to like about cakes when one walks into Secret Recipe (I have not relaxed myself with other pastry cafes yet), because the cakes here look really delectable and yummy!

This has to be my favourite in the entire store, and I never leave this place without first indulging in a slice of it:Cheeze Choc
(Soft Chocolate mixed baked cheese and biscuit base)

Cheese cakes always have this addictive melty and soft texture that makes every mouth so appealing. When baked together with soft chocolate, the saltiness of the cheese and sweetness of the chocolate balances itself out so well that this combination is nothing short of magical. I'm craving for another slice of this cheeze choc right now!

This is the firs time coming to this branch at Plaza Singapura. Most of the time I will just pass by due to time constraint.The surrounding of the branch is very unique. From where we are sitting we can see the autrium where most events will be held. So if there are any special event held there be sure to be early to "chope" a seat.I loved the chocolate banana cake. As the name implies made of chocolate and banana. A bite of this will send the sugar level spiking high. Ok this is just exaggerated, I just like the feeling of biting into a mixture of banana and chocolate.As always I would order my favorite drink ice mocha, this one was different from the rest I had tried. It comes with a scoop of ice cream mixed woth mocha.That's the damge for a piece of cake and a cup of drink.

The food here was rather disappointing with very little ingredients inside the pasta. Also, the pasta itself is also quite little and my friend and I have to order another chicken curry puff in order to relieve our hunger. The price is also quite steep and the food is not really worthy for such pricing (about $10-$15). I guess the only nice food here is the cakes.

Secret Recipe is one of the restaurants that my best friends and I love visiting, and we’ve been to many outlets together including Vivo City’s and IMM’s. It’s our first time eating at Plaza Singapura despite walking past it so many times.

There was some event going on – a movie/drama introduction, and everyone was so fanatical over watching the activities which did not even seemed interesting. Secret Recipe has a few booths that had good vantage points from which they can view the event. As a result, many of the customers were glued to their seats despite the fact that they’ve finished eating. It made it hard to get a seat, but we were promptly issued to a seat by one of the staff. I was quite impressed how they did the crowd-control.

We ordered Chicken Lasagna and Spaghetti Meatballs (chicken). The chicken Bolognese was only okay. The flavor felt a bit lackluster, blander than I hoped it would be. I think the best Secret Recipe branch is still at IMM, where they served food of the best taste in their menu.

After the main course we also ordered a black forest cake. I liked the black forest cake since foreverrr so there’s nothing much to complain about it! Except that there could be more blueberries and lesser cream. It was also a bit expensive for the size. $4.50 for one slice. The cakes are priced at $4.20/$4.50/$5.50, depending on the flavor. Naturally, the more ingredients/pricey ingredients, the more expensive.

The chicken lasagna was $9.20++ while spaghetti meatballs was $11.90++.

Overall I think the dining experience was okay, and much of the pleasant part of the experience is the ambience and the service rather than the food.

This piece of cake is quite sinful as the thick coating of white chocolate over the cake is very fragrant and smooth in texture. The chocolate sponge cake is very smooth in texture and equally moist as well. The slice is also quite thick which is quite satisfying after one piece. However it is not advisable to eat too much as you will feel quite bored with the taste.

When I think want to eat cake, the first shop I think of is secret recipe. I always like to taste many flavor of cakes there. This blueberry cheese cake looks attracting to me. But they serve very slow even is just a cake. I need to go remind the waiter again only can get my cake. Anyway, this blueberry on top is delicious when eat together with the cheese. And the base of cake also quite crispy.

I had a craving for Secret Recipe's chocolate banana cake for quite some time already and finally, a friend accompanied me to Plaza Sing to eat it! I missed the smooth chocolate coating texture with chocolate cream and slices of bananas in it. I
ordered it without further looking at its menu. My friend decided to try the strawberry cheese cake which was rather disappointing. It tasted more like strawberry cream cake as we could not taste much of the cheese. Besides that, the service was really sucky as the waiters/waitresses needed multiple reminders before serving us water. (It was not even crowded that day!)

Cornish Chicken Pastry is one of the most enjoyable snack served by Secret Recipe. They do have the original and the spicy flavor for selection. I tried both and i do prefer the original one a little more. The filling within the slightly buttery crust is shredded chicken with carrot and potato. The size is rather filling so good enough to replace lunch or dinner. Try it and you will love it too.

Recently my family and I went to Secret Recipe for dinner. We went through the menu and saw Broccoli soup, so we ordered one serving of it to try out the taste as we it is new to us. Another reason to ordering that was, among most veggies, I love broccoli the most.. We also ordered Mushroom soup as all of us love it. My first thought about that broccoli soup was it would be weird and disgusting. However, it turned out to be more than acceptable. As expected, the mushroom soup was delicious. Both of the soup were thick and creamy. But in the end, all of us still prefer mushroom soup. Even though the broccoli soup was special, mushroom soup still stands up more because we are mushroom lovers. And that we simply love the milky aroma in our mouth after drinking the mushroom soup!

I liked their cakes over at Secret Recipe. It is because all the cakes look so welcoming that make me have a hard time to choose which one to pick! The display is nice and is also because they cut it so you can view from the side, actually how it looks inside the cake, like the layers.
In the end i chose this chocolate cake to be shared with my friends, all of us enjoyed eating it! (:
And it is such a big piece they gave though is their standard size cake.

I had the secret recipe's chocolate indulgence cake for tea that day. secret recipe was quite famous and known for their cakes. I've been wanting to try them out for some time already. All the cakes displayed looked so tempting and nice that i had a hard time deciding. Finally i decide to get the chocolate indulgence cake. It was pleasantly quiet at that time since its not peak hours. I felt peacefully and times seems to stop while i enjoy my tea time. The chocolate is indeed nice and moist. I didn't feel that it's too dry for eating. I would definitely be back to try other flavours next time round

Walked passed Secret Recipe saw the sliced cakes display. Can't stop myself not giving a try. Ordered a blueberry cheese cake, to my surprise that is a promote going on that is 1 for 1. WOW! So I decided to order a raspberry cheese cake. The cheese was okay, very smooth and the base crust was not bad!

Secret recipe's cheese cake is really nice.
Because the concentration of cheese is just right.
And those cheese cake is very soft and not oily after eat it.
Maybe is the size is just right,not too big or small.
This blueberry cheese cake is nice.
The cheese taste mix well with the blueberry taste.
Not too sweet nor not too concentrated,It is just right.
So i like it very much.

So there are 2 main dishes we had ordered, one is chicken cordon bleu < filled with ham and cheese in middle> with fries and salad; the other is grilled proper chicken pepper sauce with butter rice and salad. There is a lot of pepper sauce on the chicken which I liked it a lot as I like its spicy and tasty way. When you eat it with the butter rice, its definitely a match!
The chicken filled with ham and cheese gave you a really good taste too! Its nice if you eat it with the French fries or you can order one more butter bow of rice alone for just $1!
Overall the food was awesome!!!!!!
And the drink we ordered call '' strawberry lime juice~~with soda'' gives you an unique fruity taste. It makes me feel refreshing after drinking it

Whenever i am at secret recipe, I always order the tom yum seafood soup. This time round I ordered the tom yum spaghetti.

The portion was rather big. It was served with minced chicken. The dish was slightly spicy. The tom yum minced chicken tasted really nice and the taste was also very strong.
