The first time I had their briyani was at North Point foodcourt. At first I find it costly because is around $7-8. After tasting it, I find that is worth the price. Because the portion is big. And I love their long grain rice. So tasty. And is not sticking together. So since it is available at Causeway Point Food Republic, I decided to try their chicken briyani. The chicken was big and I can't finish it. Love the spicy gravy over it. Blend it with the rice makes it heaven. But I took a little of it, bits by bits because I can't stand too spicy but I still go ahead everytime so long as food is good and savoury. The fragrance of the rice is there even before you eat it. And side dish which I probably think is peas cook in curry gravy, best choice made. Nice and soft.I strongly recommend all to try and I'm gonna try on their fish briyani next round. Worth the price, really. continue reading

Shami Banana Leaf Delights has probably been around close to a decade. Their first outlet was at north point shopping mall afterwhich the opened a restaurant along sembawang a year back. Now, their new outlet has opened at woodlands, causeway point. Boy, was I pleased! No doubt, we hate to pay so much for food that tastes like crap hence, its all about quality. This place exceeds my expectations of being located at a food court. The biryani rice here is pretty fragrant with orange coloring. A very decent portion is also provided to customers. They have a couple of good varieties for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. Must try's include their famous soya dish which is probably one of my favorites (soya cubes chunked with spices and marinated). Their tauhu sambal is pretty amazing too for just a dollar per serving.I paid $6 in total for the meal which was completely value for money as it was filling and consisted of a very decent portion! The other vegetarian dishes include brinjal, taugeh, egg sambal, cucumber salad, chickpeas among others. continue reading
