They are known as the worthy replacements of the now retired Ming Kee folks at East Coast (Ming Kee was crowned Street Food Master in 2007). Their sauce is perfectly balanced, it is sweet, spicy, savoury, nutty and yet smooth.  The cured cuttlefish is softly chewy. The lean pork, prawns and cockles all comes fresh, just slightly pink. The bee line here day and night is a proof for their diligence and craft. They sold out at 9pm when we were there on a sunday night!Check out the satay sauce covered bee hoon. I know for sure, that the next time I order this, I will have to top up for more stay bee hoon sauce! The bee hoon portion is enough for 1 hungry person or also enough to shared amongst 2. It comes with 2 prawns and sizeable pork slices.Sin Chew Satay Bee Hoon ($5.50) and Kang Kong cuttlefish ($3) is always one of the rave about stalls that make it to the must try list when visit the food centre. The sauce with the kang kong and cuttlefish is sweet, similar to that of the sweet red sauce that you eat with yong tau foo. The cuttlefish was delightfully chewy with lots of bean sprouts to crunch on with every bite.Overall, Sin Chew satay bee hoon has its uniqueness in the taste, those prefer the creamier gravy and less pungent in the peanut flavor may please with the dish. continue reading

As you walked up the flight of stairs to Bukit Timah Food Centre, you can never missed the long snaky queue that has lined up in front of Sin Chew Satay Bee Hoon. I had seen the crowd ever since I started eating their Bee Hoon 10 years ago and till recently I decided to patroness them again to see similar scene again. This was good, at least I know the standard is still well kept.Sin Chew's Satay Bee Hoon is one of my favourite in Singapore, for those that who love "Bak Gua" (pork liver) in the plate of Bee Hoon, you are going to disappoint as their ingredients does only have, Beansprouts, prawn, cuttlefish, lean meat, kang kong, cockles & tau pok included. However their ingredients were fresh.Gravy was excellent, sufficiently drenched on the plate ensuring that every strand of Bee Hoon is coated with the mild spicy peanuty sauce. It has a right degree thickness and sweetness. It's just more than words to say. How about a trip down to Bukit Timah and experience yourself? For more details, visit http://umakemehungry.blogspot.sg continue reading

This is one of the popular stalls in Bukit Timah Food Centre. Firstly, they make their own satay peanut gravy, which is excellent! It has smooth texture and I love peanuts.... For the Bee hoon it was boiled to perfection, not too hard or too soft. Fresh ingredients are served in a bowl with bee hoon, cuttlefish, prawn , lean meat, kang kong and cockles! Anyway, I love their Satay Bee Hoon! continue reading

There is always a long queue right at this stall. This stall offers satay bee hoon and cuttlefish kang kong. I have only tried satay bee hoon so far. A good portion of bee hoon was served with their homemade satay sauce. The sauce has got an aromatic peanuts taste coupled with a comforting sweetness. It served with fresh ingredients like cuttlefish, prawns, lean meat, kang kong, bean sprouts and cockles. It tasted superb delicious. This is one of the better satay been hoon that i ever eaten in Singapore. continue reading

This has been one of my regular choices for satay bee hoon. I have no doubt that this is the stall that got the longest queue in this food centre. The best timing would be here about 10 minutes before their opening time to avoid long waiting time. But one good thing is their service is pretty prompt. The satay gravy is excellent. You can clearly tasted the coarse grounded peanuts in the sauce. The superb satay sauce complemented the bee hoon really well. i would like to commend their effort in ensuring the freshness of their ingredients used. Such a plate of satay bee hoon served along with prawns, lean meat, cockles and kang kong. You have the selection of $3, $4 or $5. Strongly recommended. continue reading
