For more reviews, visit www.umakemehungry.comIf you have been a regular of Hong Ji Claypot Bak Kut Teh located in Marsiling, you will have probably seen Sin Kee Seafood Soup since they are located in the same Coffeeshop. Though it is located just beside the bustling hawker centre, I'm rather surprise to see a fully occupied coffeeshop with many family or couples enjoying their meals. At a glance, perhaps 80% were having our local delight, Bak Kut Teh, while about 15% were patrons of Sin Kee Seafood Soup and the rest were sticked to some others stall in there.Sin Kee stands up from most seafood soup stall as they offer unique soups instead of just the usual boring stuff we had. Their Seafood soup comes with, prawns, Promfet Fish, Dory Fish, Batang Fish and even Crayfish. Any permutations you name it, its all ready for us. If you would like to have them in Tom Yum, no problem, its also available here.I had Crayfish with Batang Slices to go with a bowl of white rice. It caught me by surprised when I saw the chalky orange soup as I was expecting some clear soup. I quickly dig my spoon in and took a sip. Oh Boy! It was delicious! The sweet nature of the soup from the marinated minced meat and seafood together with the tangy flavours of tomato were absolutely appetizing. Tomatos were cooked to the point where it disintegrates in the mouth with the slightest pressure. Chunks of Batang Fish and minced meat were ever generous, whereas for the crayfish, we only have 1.5 of the portion. The bowl of seafood soup is definitely up to the mark and value for money.
