well boiled soups
Just OK 2013-05-03

Sometimes, healthy food is necessary to cleanse our system of toxins. Decided to try Soup Broth Asia at Raffles City after seeing the frequent long queues. It was surprisingly good. The soup we ordered was some kind of pig intestines with boiled carrots and some potatoes. The soup was clearly boiled for a long time, with each mouthful of soup tasting very rich with the taste of the pig parts infused into the soup. It was also relatively affordable.

three cup chicken hot pot
Smile 2013-03-02

I settled for dinner at soup broth asia. i ordered their three cup chicken hot pot. it was really good. the gravy was thick and tasty. goes absolutely well with rice. the chicken was a little boney, there were quite a lot of bones so it was a little messy to eat. you must eat slight faster or else the gravy will dry up. it was pretty good for the price i paid, a lot of chicken pieces. yummy!

sumo nabe hotpot
Smile 2013-02-20

Not only does Soup Broth Asia sell those normal soup, they also got sell some hotpots. I decided to try their sumo nabe hotpot. the soup was white in colour. when they served it to me, there was a raw egg in the centre. i broke the raw egg yolk so it would cook faster. there were a lot of ingredients in the soup like chicken, chinese cabbage. the soup tasted very milky but it was simply tasty. it absolutely went well with rice!

soup style!
Smile 2013-01-30

Soup Broth Asia is the Asian counterpart to guys at The Soup Spoon just next door.
A menu of twelve different soup offerings with exact calorie counts for the weight conscious.
Each soup bowl serves about 500ml.
And just in case you were wondering,
The gourmet stock used in the soups at Soup Broth Asia is prepared using a unique method that takes at least eight hours.
Ingredients are cooked separately, and are then cooked with the gourmet stock. This cooking process preserves the nutritional value of the ingredients without sacrificing on taste.

Fujian style fish stew.
Don't bother looking at the pictures. They were hardly appetizing.
But look past that and into these glass bowls and you'll find something worth staying for.
This was good. Savoury.
Perhaps with the addition of pork slices.
The beancurd puffs were filling and just this bowl of soup was enough for a light meal.
All soups are served with a generous serving of white rice.

heartwarming soup and tasty dishes

- The Shop
The 60-seater outlet offer an exciting variety of the best homemade delicious Asian soups with everything made fresh from the kitchen with No MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) added!!

- The Food
Sumo Nabe Hotpot @ $15.80

The variation of Sumo Nabe hotpot comprises slices of chicken, cabbage, lotus root, fried tofu and carrots. The soy milk broth is light yet thoroughly satisfying. The sweet beany taste enhance the savoury aspect of the broth. It's unique and interesting. I wasn't quite sure if I like it initially, but I quite enjoy the soup thereafter.

Three-Cup Chicken Hotpot @ $13.80

The thick homemade three-cup sauce has a divine aroma of sesame oil, rice wine and soy sauce. It was deftly flavored and braised succulent. Combined with basil and dried chilli is simply pungent!

Paper-Wrapped Herbal Chicken @ $16.80 (Half Chicken)

The delicate aroma and flavourful blend of herbs is a crowd pleaser. Not overly concoctions yet intensely good. The chicken was tender and succulent. Enjoy every bite with the inviting aroma as you tuck in. The dish is completed with a bowl of white rice.

Szechuan Style French Beans @ $6.90

The wrinkled and tooth tender french beans accompanying crumbled savory bits was drenched in flavor.

Braised Tofu in Sambal Chilli Sauce @ $7.50

This is comfort food at its best. The sambal chilli sauce was addicting, a tad spicy and sweet. The garlic bites also add an extra flavor punch.

- My Opinion
Being a soup lover, I likes most of the soups at Soup Broth Asia. They are very heartwarming and tastes of home.

There are plenty of options of soup to suit your taste. They are healthy (no MSG), flavourful (slow boil for at least 8hrs!) and low in calories. Anything better, you will have to cook yourself!

Expected better
Just OK 2012-12-26

I went in to this little shop expecting a hearty dinner with soups, only to realize it's kind of self-service, and you have to order at the counter while browsing the menu on the TV screen behind the cashier. It makes it hard for people who never visited the shop, hence long waiting queue at the counter, as you would have imagine.

We ordered the The Titanic which is a soup boiled with fish Maw, chicken thigh slices, mushroom, shark fin melon, carrot, leek, bamboo shoots, taro, peanuts, barley and ginseng roots. However, to my disappoinment, the soup broth is not warm enough, apparently sitting at the display counter for long.

Hainanese Festive Fish Maw which consists of fresh fish slices, mish maw, carrot, leek, round cabbage, shiitake mushroom on the other hand is bubbling hot and tastes good!

We also ordered the Thai style chicken ngoh hiang, and loving it. It tastes like the Thai fish cakes, slightly spicy and goes really well with Thai sweet chilli.

For desserts, Chendol tiramisu is quite a creation. The presentation is nice, and tastes authentic like chendol. Delicately nice.

However, I'm not really fancy about Red bean tofu cheesecake. The tofu taste is overwhelmed and I reckon it could taste better if there's more red bean in it.

Slurp!
Smile 2012-12-12

It was my second time here on a tuesday early evening. It was pretty empty at that time.

The food

   Ice lemon tea

This iced lemon tea was so good that I finished it, which I usually don't as I'm not a fan of sweet drinks.

   Hainanese fish maw soup

The soup was loaded with many ingredients, which tasted flavorful. Really love it. They were quite generous with the fish maw too.

However, the prices of the soups were more expensive, probably because of its location. In general, the soups are priced on the higher side compared to Soup Spoon.

The Ambience
It was okay as it wasn't very crowded at that time. It's free seating.

The Service
Service was not bad as I asked the lady to recommend me some of the dishes and she seemed quite familiar with the dishes.

Overall
I will visit this place again for its awesome soups as I am a big fan of soups.

soup, and more soups
Smile 2012-12-10

Soup Broth Asia is one of my favorite soup restaurant among others as they offer really different chinese style soups to their patrons at reasonable price. I have frequent this place for 3 times and almost tried all their soups listed in the menu.

I would recommend you to visit their website to decide on which soup to order if you are going there for your meal as you will be spoil for choices.

Currently they are having their couple and family promotions which entitles you to have 2 soups, 2 sides and 1 desserts. Was there last week so I decided to try their "Titanic" and "Fujian Cabbage Fish Stew". For sides, I ordered their Stir Fried Kailan with Oyster Sauce and Thai Basil Chicken.

"Titanic", which consist of Fish Maw, Shark Fins Melons and Chicken Thigh boiled in real chicken stock taste really nourishing and fresh. It tasted light too, which is a good sign of a no MSG soup.

"Fujian Cabbage Fish Stew" is like a hokkien style soup with big serving of the cabbage and fish slices. I would say this is something very healthy with only 230cals which is a good choice for people who is watching their diet.

The restaurant is spacious but with limited seats (seating capacity is about 50 I think) so try to avoid the peak dining hours. They also provide a ordering machine with NETS machine at the entrance of the shop if you want to skip the queuing crowd and self service on your orders instead. The servers will serve your pipping hot soup to you and their service is prompt and friendly.

Guess I'll be conquering all their soup menus soon with only a few more left to go!

nice soups
Just OK 2012-09-20

the soups here are fantastic! love the amount of ingredients and serving size. and the yam rice is one of the best in singapore! the vegetables are sometimes not very good - as you can see from the photo. sometimes they are yellow and with worm holes. however, generally the food is great. love the authentic home cooked taste and it's not overly salty. about $10

lovely food and soups
Smile 2012-08-23

The soups here are great. And some times they have new soups on the menu, which are great for a change. Their meat dishes are good too. However, I find that the quality is not always consistent and different days yield different results. Everything tastes home cooked, and even the presentation is home style. Service is efficient but not overly helpful. Love their yam rice here! But it's pretty expensive as it's a very small bowl only!

Soup Broth Asia
Smile 2012-07-29

Soup Broth Asia was having a promotion where all soups could be redeemed with the $5 voucher which they were giving out. With that, I only paid $2.90 for my Korean Ginseng soup as the original price was $7.90. It was really worth the money and we could see a substantial crowd with the ongoing promotion. There were 2 chicken drumsticks in the soup which tasted really delicious which came with a bowl of rice too.

We had:

1) Chicken Daikon Leek Soup ($7.20) - juicy chicken thigh, delicate and tasty. The leeks cut through the rich depth of flavour

2) Indonesian Chicken Opor Soup ($7.20) - thick stew

3) Chinese Cabbage and Fish Soup ($9.20) light and refreshing

4) Hainanese Fish Maw Soup (10.20) - clear, light and choc-a-bloc with chewy bouncy fish maw

Set Meal
Smile 2012-04-29

This Asian Cuisine shop actually sells many ranges of their unique combination of foods to form into their differnent types of in-house dishes. I have bought their chilli egg plants which are smooth and the chiili flavours has absorb into the egg plants. The clear soup with a mixture of white cabbage, pork ribs and deep fried bean curd pockets are light and not too oily. The pork ribs inside is also quite tender too. A tall glass of ice lemon tea and a bowl of fragrant plain rice comes along with the set meal as well. A good bargain and satisfying meal which I have here.

love it here
Smile 2012-03-30 (Related Review)

i love everything on the menu here. especially their yam rice. however this time the quality seemed to have dropped as there was not a single piece of yam in my rice! not sure if they did not mix it properly or if the bowl of rice was too small. it costs extra to have yam rice here - wish they gave a bigger serving for the extra price! but their menu is fantastic anyway - everything goes well with everything else. i really wish they would hurry up and come out with a loyalty program!

Smile 2012-03-29

I LOVE this place. Since day 1, I've loved this place. I wish they have a loyalty card program as it is costing me to travel to eat here every day! I love their generous vegetable portion. The vegetable wasn't super fresh as there were holes in the leaves but otherwise it was cooked properly and not limp. High quality ingredients used. Service is always wonderful. I love it here! Fast and efficient. Highly recommended!
