Came here with a groupon voucher to try the food here. One order was for black pepper steak and the other was for ribs and chicken. Both orders came with a soup of the day and a soda drink. We walked right into the restaurant and had to grab the attention of the staff at the bar to attend to us. We were then ushered to a seat of our chicken (they hv both open table seating, and seating with mid level backing types) and was told she will be back to take our orders, she never did. I had to catch another waitering staff who was also aware that we were waiting to hv our orders taken but did not do anything as well. Now to the food, the soup of the day was chicken and mushroom, not the cream based type, it tasted a little salty, didn't like the oil on it and quantity served was little, soup stains were even spotted on the bowl when served. The black pepper steak was served cut up and not the entire slice but it was good, unlike the service level. Same goes to the chicken and ribs, the chicken was nice to bite and did not feel dry at all. Likewise the ribs were well grilled and flavored. My only gripe is not much sauce is provided for both dishes. Also the fries could have done a lot better, sad to say it did not compliment the meat well. As you can tell, very mixed reactions from me with the food quality impressing but not the entire dining experience though. This joint has got to improve especially carrying the Australia outback theme, hope it can buck up on the finer things of dining and i'll be back soon.

Onion Ring + Cheese Fries + Drumlet

Onion Ring, chicken wing + Fries --> Taste was alright

Baby Pork Ribs + Spring Chicken.

Baby Pork Ribs --> i've tried better ones, but this one was pretty good in the sense that the meat was tender and falling-off-the-bone type, i think the sauce could be improved on though!
Spring Chicken --> It must be fully cooked for consumption.

I came here with the Groupon deal, The ambiance of the place is fine, but then is a very disappointed day for me & my group of friends, celebrate birthday end up their service was damn piss off...huffy

After we sat down, We wanted to order end up have to waited around 20mins to served where there's not much customer till 1 of my friend went to their kitchen to call them, I'm not sure what those staff doing at their kitchen, Getting waiters' attention was an impossible task.huffy

Waiters doesn't give a smile when ordering, serving dish is like so messy just anyhow put those plate without saying "excuse me" & hurt 1 of my friend's hand, what's more not a single apology from them too...huffy

Overall, i only sincerely enjoyed the finger foods. It is unlikely we will be back...

Yummy Dinner at Outback SteakHouse
Smile 2013-03-11
As we had just finished shopping at Millenia Walk by 7.30pm, we decided to go and have dinner. The kids wanted to have burgers and chips, so we headed over to Outback SteakHouse. Luckily, there was no rush and we were taken in very soon and seated. Once we were comfortably seated the waiter handed us the menu and we began to browse through it. The kids made up their minds very soon and one selected Kid's Chicken Fingers and the other went for the Kids Burger. I chose the Pork Chops since I love pork alot and hubby selected the Bacon Cheese Burger. We ordered a Heineken as well and relaxed as till our food was served to us. The waiter bought a a brown bread with some yummy butter and we all began to munch on it.

   Crispy yummy bread and butter

: The dark brown bread was really tasty and crunchy on the out and soft inside and it went very well with the delicious butter.

   Kid's Chicken Fingers

: The chicken fingers and fries were yummy and came with 2 different sauces. The little fellow enjoyed it.

   Kid's Burger

: The kids burger came with a sauce and fries. The bread was nice and soft and had a very yummy Pattie and a slice of cheese.

   Pork Chops

: I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw two huge chunks of Pork chops which was cooked to perfection and the texture was simply great. The liquid would just drip out every time I took a bite of it. I truly enjoyed this dish and look forward to having it again smile

   Bacon Cheese Burger

: My hubby was glad he choose the bacon cheese burger since it was delicious and very filling. It had 2 big slices of bacon, cheese, tomatoes and some salad which was simply perfect. I tasted it and yes it was really very good.

We paid a huge sum of $97.10 but no regrets since the food was simply yummilicious.

1 Heineken 12oz : $9.90
1 Kid's Chicken Fingers : $11.90

Outback Steakhouse: Feast your eyes on their huge
Smile 2013-01-30
Feel free to visit my site here: http://thedessertprince.com/outback-steakhouse/

Hidden amidst all the pubs and bars of Millenia Walk is Outback Steakhouse. Do not belittle this steakhouse just because they have only one outlet in Singapore. Despite having Australian name, Outback originated in Florida during the 1980s and since their inception, they have spanned 1000 steakhouses in 20 over countries. Now that’s something to boost right?

As for me, I am no stranger to them since I have cravings for steaks most of the time. I daresay they have one of the best steaks in town. If not I wouldn’t come back time after time again and still recommend to my friends once in a while right?

Would you just feast your eyes on the juicy slab of Ribeye ($39.90). One can opt for more flavours. Maybe drizzle some peppercorn sauce or pair up with grilled onions. But to me, the best way of having steaks is just having it grilled over an open fire and then savouring it plain and simple, medium rare. Honestly speaking, the ribeye was so good that the sides seemed secondary…

What else could be better than to have something to spread butter and munch upon? Another thing worth sharing is the complementary bread served upon each table. I did a little bit of research and as I am aware, it’s call honey wheat bushbread. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I just wished I had another so I wouldn’t always need to share! Such is the mentality of a glutton indeed…

And who says you can only order steaks at a steakhouse? I always have a good impression of their pastas. Composed of fettuccine tossed with homemade marinara and meat sauces then finish off with fresh basil ribbons and parmesan. And voila! Steakhouse Pasta ($23.90) is one I will recommend!

I love the huge portion of their food which is great for sharing if not more than enough to make a meal for one. Service was also commendable. I have heard about their Lunch Specials but never had the chance to try but I believe there’s always another chance…

Cream of mushroom and bread (comes with the main course)
The soup is really creamy and thick and full with ingredients too. I love the way they serve the soup, not the usual soup that we can find in other restaurant, the taste is slightly different, though not "very delicious" but sometimes i was bored by the usual taste of mushroom soup outside and this gave me a fresh impression. The bread is for two person portion, quite fragrant but it's the sweet type so i think it's not very suitable to eat with the soup.

Sirloin steak $28.90
The steak is definitely the top 3 steak i have eaten so far! The way they marinate it is something to wow on. The spices and herbs were so fragrant and tasty, but after finishing half way i feel a bit sick already. The seasoning is too intense that i need to drink something or eat the steak together with the mashed potato. Anyway it's still a good steak as the way they cook it was just perfect.

Dessert trio $18.90
The dessert trio consists of the chocolate brownie w ice cream, strawberry cheesecake and banana fudge w ice cream. The chocolate brownie is nice, rich in chocolate taste and correct moisture. The chocolate syrup is really sinful but is also a must. The strawberry cheesecake is okay, fine ad smooth but i feel sick after too much of it, maybe because i cant eat too much of cheesecake. The banana cake is something i dont like, it's too strong with the cinnamon taste which i cant accept. I only can accept cinnamon in apple cake or apple pie. Banana cake isn't it suppose to have fragrant banana taste?! Anyway we didn't manage to finish this plate of dessert because we are already very full with the steak and soup and bread. The dessert is really very large in portion!

good place to unwind

- The Shop
The Australian themed steakhouse restaurant exudes a casual ambience and contemporary decor. The warm lighting, wooden furniture and bar setting goes perfectly with its casual, laid-back appeal.

Best known for its generous portions of just right steaks, chicken and seafood, Outback also offers an assortment of crisp salads and freshly made soups and sides.

- The Food
Cherry Limeade

The sweet maraschino cherries and tart limes mixed with grenadine and Sprite was sweet and tangy. The refreshing drink guaranteed to tickle the taste buds with its limey- sweet flavor. I simply love it!

Boston Bread

The freshly baked honey wholemeal Boston bread was addictive! The thin chewy crusted bread was light and pillow-soft on the inside. Can't decide if I should have the fluffy and lightly sweetened bread on its own or slathered with their slightly salted homemade butter. I like that nice buttery fragrance!

Ahi Tuna Chopped Salad

Not only it is loaded with healthy veggies, the dressing adds quite a punch of flavor in the wasabi vinaigrette. Topped with crispy wonton strips and savory pan-seared sashimi-style tuna coasted with black pepper. So light and refreshing.

Alice Springs Chicken Quesadila

The soft and chewy thin grilled tortilla layered with zesty grilled chicken breast sauteed with mushrooms and bacon are a succulent delight when mixed with the melted cheeses. The great flavor and texture is so good on its own that you can forget about the honey mustard sauce.

Seafood Pasta

The fettuccine was nicely cook. Shrimp, calamari and fish fillet was succulent. Definitely a good choice for non meat-lovers.

Ribs and Alice Springs Chicken
The rack of pork ribs was tender that it fall off the bone easily, wish it was juicier. Paired with grilled chicken breast topped with bacon, honey mustard sauce and sauteed mushrooms was tender but a tad salty.

Outback Special (11oz)
Outback's signature sirloin seasoned with bold spices was on the tough side for me. This could be the sirloin has a thicker cut compare to ribeye and it was prepared medium done. Personally I prefer my steak medium rare.

Ribeye

Ribeye was tender, juicer and more savory compare to the Sirloin even it was prepared medium done too. It was seasoned and seared with Outback's secret 17 seasoning blend and chargrilled over an open flame. No wonder it was more flavourful.

Dessert Sampler Trio

Sampler three of the most popular desserts, Chocolate Thunder from Down Under, Cheesecake and Banana Nut Cake.

My favourite was the chocolate brownie with ice cream, and whipped cream. Brownie was fudgy and moist, what can go wrong with ice cream and anything chocolate?

- My Opinion
The staff at this warm and welcoming restaurant are attentive and friendly. If you are looking for a place where you can unwind with your favourite drink round off with a flavorful dinner, you might want to give Outback Steakhouse a shot.

A perfect meal
Smile 2012-07-04

I had not eaten a good steak in a long time and while chatting with a friend I got to know from her that Outback had some very fine steak and I should go try them out. So the very next day I headed over to Outback Steak house which is located at Millenia walk.

When I arrived, I was greeted with a smile and shown my seat and then the waiter came over to me and gave me the menu. I quickly browsed through it and first selected the Soup of the day. While the waiter went to get me the soup, I looked through the menu again to find the steak I had come to eat. I looked and found a variety of them and couldn't make up my mind on which one I should try. So I waited for the waiter and when he arrived with my soup, I asked him which steak I should try and he suggested the Outback special. I said I would love to try it out. He then asked me if I would like some fries along with it and I agreed and started to enjoy my delicious soup with the crunchy bread.

Finally, my steak arrives and my mouth began to water just by looking at the juice oozing out of the steak. I soon began to indulge in the steak and yes it was really very yummy and delicious that I took my own sweet time to chew and eat it up. I was very happy with the choice of steak and recommended it my friends smile

Hearty western food

For pictures and more reviews, visit my blog at www.ms-skinnyfat.com

Was invited by the nice people at OpenRice.com for food tasting at Outback Steakhouse! Thanks Celes for the link up! It's always nice to meet up with fellow bloggers over a meal. This time i finally got to meet Misterchewy, the other half of Missuschewy. So here you go, the whole shebang of the night's meal. Warning: Do not read on an empty stomach.

We started with the freshly baked honey whole meal Boston bread with a home made buttermilk butter. The bread is good on its own, with a tinge of natural sweetness. The centre was pillowy and fluffy when warm. The creamy salted buttermilk spread is smooth, almost like clotted cream minus the stickiness.

Starters
Alice Springs Chicken Quesadilla- Grilled flour tortilla stuffed with grilled chicken breast sauteed mushrooms, bacon, melted cheese and served with honey mustard

This is a dish that i'd order as a main. The quesadilla had a buttery pastry texture that reminded me of roti prata. I like that it's moist and creamy on the inside. How can anything with cheese, bacon and mushrooms go wrong right? This is good even without the sauce.

Ahi Tuna Chopped Salad- Fresh iceberg and spring mix lettuce and cucumbers tossed in wasabi vinaigrette with crispy wanton skin. Topped with sashimi style pan seared tuna (S$12.90/22.90)

This was one of my favorite dishes because it's really refreshing. Trust me, after having so much meat, you'd want to eat the veg. The pepper crusted tuna sashimi was splashed with citrus to give it that tangy taste and that really helped to reinvigorate our taste buds.

Combination Appetizer- Sharing portions of Kookaburra Wings, Aussie Cheese fries and Crispy fried mushrooms (S$25.90).

Fried food galore! Perfect snacks to accompany an ice cold beer. The batter is a little on the high blood pressure end but who can say no to wings and fries? I love the skin on fries which still had remnants of its rootiness (not that it's muddy) and hello to more cheese and bacon. Ngoms.

Typhoon Bloom- Hand cut, fresh onion strings dusted with Outback's secret seasonings, whirled into a circular stack and fried to a crisp. (S$15.90)

If you like onions and you like fried batter, have this. I could only do a few strands of this. Same sentiments around the table.

Mains
Seafood Pasta- Shrimps, calamari and fish fillet with fettuccine tossed in homemade marinara sauce and Parmesan cheese (S$26.90)

There's something comforting about a simple tomato based pasta. Perhaps it's the reminder of the youthful carefree days of smearing bolognese all over my face as i slurp my noodles. The fettuccine was perfectly cooked to maintain a nice crunch. Simple and hearty dish.

Ribs and Alice Springs Chicken- 1/2 rack of pork ribs with chicken breast topped with bacon, honey mustard sauce, sauteed mushrooms, Monterey Jack and Cheddar

I'm not a fan of ribs but this was marinated very nicely. The sauce was dry and probably the marinate rubbed on prior to grilling instead of a sauce being slapped on after. There wasn't a lot of meat but it was tender and fell off the bone easily. The chicken was moist and tender. I suppose it's the same combination as the quesadilla and you already know what i said about it.

Outback Special 11oz- Sirloin steak (S$33.90)

Ribeye steak seasoned and seared with 17 different seasoning and char grilled over an open flame for the extra smokiness (S$39.90)

Among the 2 steaks, i preferred the Outback special because sirloin is obviously more tender. Perhaps it's also to do with the doneness of the meat (both were medium done) and i like mine medium rare. Ribeye is the tougher cut obviously but if you love your meat, you would probably go for this. The mash was chunky with bits of potato skin and bacon. Finally something that's a little bland. The sodium level of all the dishes combined made my tongue feel like sandpaper at this point. The meats were undressed because they didn't know what we wanted but take your pick from peppercorn, pepper and mushroom sauce (if i'm not wrong).

You don't go to Outback Steakhouse for desserts. Period. We had the Desserts Sample Trio (S$18.90)- Chocolate Thunder from Down Under (Brownie), Cheesecake and Banana Nut Cake. Edible, not fantastic. Save that calories for a starter instead. It's more worth it.

Food: 4/5 More hits than misses. Somehow the non steak dishes fared better.
Atmosphere: 4/5 Great place to hang out with the dudes over beer and snacks. There's a tv screen for soccer. This is where i would have my JC or uni gatherings.

If you are looking for a good steak, you can probably consider Outback Steak House located at Millenia Walk. We ordered a plate of Onions Rings to share. The onions very really good! The sweetness from the onion rings and the crisp from the batter was goody.

The ribeyes cames with sides of vegetables and mashed potatoes. The sides were rather pedestrians. However the meat itself was tender and juicy.

The Outback Special also cames with the same sides of vegetables and mashed potatoes. The meat itself unfortunately was a bit tough and dry.

Cheese Fries
i ordered a plate of cheese fries for everyone to share. the cheese fries are simply delicious, the fries are golden brown and crispy. the portion of the cheese is very generous.I'm a sucker for fries and cheese so anything that combines these two ingredients together works magic for me. It definitely helped that the fries were chunky and crispy while the cheese was thick and had lots of bacon chips in it.

Time for some meats
Just OK 2012-05-30
We went to Outback for lunch. The place is cosy, but the lighting was a bit too dim. We ordered for a outback steak special & a pork chop. The steaks were served with a drink & a soup & a bread. we could add 1 $ & have a bottomless drink, which we opted for. The soup was really yummy,it was pink in color. I wasn't able to figure out what soup it was, but it was really tasty. The brown bread too was great. We enjoyed drinking the Iced tea & coke & looked forward to the steaks to arrive.

When the steak arrived, the Outback steak was a real tiny piece of steak,we had asked for it to be well done, but it wasn't well done & was really tough. The Pork chop was ok,but bland. We expected juicy & tasty steaks, but we weren't satisfied with the steaks. The staff were friendly & the service was prompt, but the steaks were a disappointment sadsad

Steak with wedges
Smile 2012-05-05
Quality steak can be found here and usually I will order their steak with wedges. The beef meat is thick and dry juicy and normally I will request my steak to be medium well done. The slice of the steak is quite generous in portion and just by having the steak is already very filling before you eat the side dish. The wedges are smooth inside and is very crispy outside and is not too oily. The full presentation of it looks really delicious and the actual taste of it is equally good as well.

Kookaburra Wings
Smile 2012-03-27
Outback steakhouse is known for its steaks. Do you know they serve delicious chicken too.
I was blown away when I tried the Kookaburra Wings. It is actually one of their appetizer dish. I think it is very well seasoned, the taste of it makes you want more of it.
It goes very well with the creamy bleu cheese dressing dip that matches just perfectly for it.
I will definately order this when I am dining at Outback steakhouse.

Average western food
Just OK 2012-01-14
I realise that I've never written anything about Outback Steakhouse despite quite a few visits to to the restaurant both in Singapore and overseas, so here goes. Popped by with my gf on a not so quiet Thursday evening.

The interior is cosy and cheerful with wooden booth seats for extra privacy. Signs and stickers adorn the wall with overhanging lamp shades for a casual laid back atmosphere. Interestingly, while Outback is supposed to embody the spirit of the Australian outback - rugged, friendly and casual, this successful chain actually started out in the US and the owners have never stepped foot into Australia! So much for authenticity I guess.

Cheese Fries & Complimentary Bread - The complimentary bread was relatively huge and came served on a cutting board with a knife and butter. I thought it was rather average tasting though.
I'm a sucker for fries and cheese so anything that combines these two ingredients together works magic for me. It definitely helped that the fries were chunky and crispy while the cheese was thick and had lots of bacon chips in it.

Prime Minister's Prime Rib - At 8oz, this is one of the smaller prime ribs that I've had (I usually prefer a 10oz or 12oz). Slow roasted in an oven, the medium rare rib was succulent and tender but I did find it a little too fatty. It could have done with a dash of salt and pepper as well to complement the natural beefy taste of the rib. There's an option to add on homemade mushroom sauce or peppercorn sauce, but at $6.90 a pop, I'd rather pass.

Sizzling Chicken - The sizzling chicken had me salivating at the fragrance it emitted at the table. However I did find this dish a little lacking. The boneless chicken came across as a tad too dry though still reasonably fibrous. Nothing special but still very palatable.

Chocolate Thunder from Down Under - Warm and rich chocolate sauce drizzled over soft and moist pecan brownie with a nice smooth scoop of vanilla ice cream. Whats not to likeHowever, at almost $20 for this dessert, I had expected a humongous slab of brownie topped with yet another humongous scoop of ice cream, enough to stuff 2 people. What I got was really disappointing, size wise. To be fair, the brownie and ice cream was bigger than usual, but only by that much. A very nice and sinful dessert!

>$60/pax is certainly on the high side for a hearty but relatively unimpressive dinner. Food quality is above average at best but what I like is the casual setting and friendly service. Soft drinks are free flow if you order a glass.
