I heard from a couple of friends who went to Royal Copenhagen for tea that this place serves really great tea so decided to drop by and try it out. We ordered the homemade scorns, Prawn with caviar sandwich and tuna with caviar sandwich and Vanilla Dream Cheesecake and blueberry dream cheesecake. The scones were served with butter, whipped cream and jam. You have to apply everything on yourself. The sandwich did not have a top bread, as the ingredients were a lot. The prawn was very fresh and succulent, mixed with the generous portion of caviar. It was so good! The cheesecakes were awfully sinful yet very delicious! I love the ambiance of this café, very cosy and comfortable. It overlooks Orchard Road too! continue reading

Royal Copenhagen is located at the 2nd floor of Takashimaya, i cant believed that i have always missed it. they served really great food there. i ordered the Tuna with caviar sandwich, it is not like the normal sandwich we always eat, it's bottom layer is bread, lettuce, followed by tuna and mayo and on top is the black caviar. the tuna and mayo are very tasty topped with the caviar, it really brings out the flavour. i had some problems eating it cos the lettuce is very fragile and the prawn and caviar kept falling. i guess it is guess me being clumsy. the Prawn with caviar sandwich is as good as the tuna with caviar sandwich. the prawn version uses orange caviar and purple lettuce. the entire appearance itself look just simply delicious. the prawn is fresh and succulent, u can just taste the sweetness by taking one bite.the Blueberry Cheesecake is just so rich and cheesy. the blueberry lined the top of the cake, so sweet and yummy. as a whole the cake is not too sweet which is a good thing. i really like the generosity of the blueberries. very worth the moneythe Spinach Quiche is really good too! not too salty yet the taste of spinach blended with the cheesy taste, makes it really good and delicious.lastly the Plum & Prunes Cake is OMG delicious. a sweet dessert. they are very generous with the fruits. the cake isnt too sweet just the right taste.the view outside the window is amazing, u can see the orchard road! can be a place to bring a date too! or simply just chill out with friends. continue reading

Whenever I pass by Takashimaya level 2 for 1 reason or another, I would always see a queue at this Royal Copenhagen Tea Lounge. It looks quite classy & expensive, & I never dared to step in. That is, until the last Sat of October. The tea lounge is tastefully furnished with fine teaware & furniture. We were lucky that one of us reached just before the queue formed & was thus able to grab a table for 3 without waiting for long hehe.We ordered the Royal Deluxe Tea Set for two and an additional pot of Earl Grey Tea as there were 3 of us. Here's what the set comprised of:- 2 mini Open Face House sandwiches- 2 pieces of Homemade Scones- 2 slice of cakes (showcase selection)- 2 slices of Homemade Baked Quiches- Cup of Coffee or Tea (for 2 persons)Please do not expect the tea to be some exotic tea breed, it's jus normal tea, and you add your own milk & sugar according to personal preference. The additional pot of tea which we ordered, costs $6.90++, which was quite reasonable, but too bad no refill was allowed. The 2 mini open face house sandwiches are supposed to be Danish traditional delicacies, and there is only a small bit of bread at the bottom, below the "stack" of prawns & tuna. It tasted somewhat "raw" to us and we weren't used to such taste. Everything else in the set was fantastic hehe. The homemade baked Quiche was delicious! The 2 slices of cakes we picked - Almond Meringue & Chocolate Royale, were fluffy & nice too. I only took a small bite of the chocolate cake as 1 of my friends only wanted to eat this and drink her earl grey tea. Not too bad, but I find the Almond Meringue cake even better, really fluffy & yummy!Last but not least, our fresh-from-the-oven homemade scones came (served with butter, whipped cream & jam). It was really nice, even the jam had big berries in it We were really full at the end of the tea session. This tea lounge is good for a lazy afternoon of tea session with a bunch of girlfriends, perhaps after shopping hehe. But we guess a beta time to visit this lounge would be on weekday afternoons instead. We went on a Saturday & it was so noisy as everyone was busy chatting away! After we left the lounge, I could feel a bit of sore in my throat already, must be due to the fact that I tried to talk louder for my friends to hear me amidst the noise......So, do pick the right time to be there, so that u can make yr $ worth continue reading
