This is the first time I went to Old Hong Kong Legend at Raffles City Shopping Centre. Not easy to find this restaurant because it is at the corner of the shopping mall. Luckily it is next to Esprit so I could see it. When I step in, there is a stone dragon pillar in the middle of the restaurant. Very very attractive. I've ordered quite a lot of food and enjoy so much, especially the soup of the day. Hong Kong soup is so nice. Roasted pork and Typhoon Shelther-style fried crab are perfect. This is the first time I tried the HK style fried crab - 避风塘炒蟹. Good, spicy and fresh. I definately will come back again because of the soup and 避风塘 dishes. The manger told me they have afternoon set - milk tea and French toast. Cannot believe the restaurant sell HK cafe tea set. Old Hong Kong Legend opens even the first day of Chinese New Year! How to believe they are so HK style---work hard and good quality of food!

Dim Sum is one of those comfort foods that I really enjoy eating, but sadly my experience at Old Hong Kong Legend wasn't a very good one. The only interesting dish that was good is this deep-fried prawn ball which had a nice springy texture to it. The meat they used in the Char Siew Pau is not the high quality char siew you would expect to find at a Chinese restaurant, but tasted more like those you get for $1 at a kopitiam. Overall, the food wasn't that great and I don't think I would return again after this visit.

I was with my family and we decided to get some food from Old Hong Kong Legend, since it's conveniently located at Raffles City. The Yi Pin Guo was very good, consisting of sea cucumber, broccoli, scallops and abalone; portion was generous as well, and the food well braised. I also liked the noodles with prawn, as the gravy was flavourful and the prawns big and fresh. The stir-fried pork with ginger and leek was average.

Interesting combination served piping hot are the baked avocado seafood puff. Within this sweet Chinese pastry are combination of generous pieces of avocado, vegetables and crab sticks. The amount of egg added to the puff gives a rich brown top and good flavour together with the generous amount of toasted sesame seed on top of each flaky puff. These bite sized puff goes well with a cup of hot Chinese tea.

Dim sum is one my favorite especially on a weekend morning =) Was supposed to go Royal China at Raffles Hotel but we were getting a bit late and they have a certain time slot for you to finish so decided to change venue.Closest to us will be Old HK Legend so here we are! I find the dim sum are decent. Char Siew Sou was pretty good! It's always one of the must order whenever i have dim sum. Love the buttery texture of the skin and the moist char siew filling! Simply bliss with every mouthful i take. This place may not have the best dim sum but for the convenient location (ok parking + it's linked to the mrt too, i don't mind coming back again.
