A bockwurst set is for $5.00. It consists of a piece of smoked pork sausage, a soft bun then a cherry tomato with a leaf of lettuce. I think it is indeed pricey. I do not feel the quality of the pork sausage is particularly impressive. It tasted like those branded sausages from Cold Storage. The presentation seemed to be a bit boring as well. No sauce nor butter is given to go with the soft bun. That single cherry tomato and that leaf of lettuce seemed a bit lonesome. continue reading

When i first heard of German Imbiss, i wonder what is the relationship between this outlet and the Wuerstelstand Sausage Kiosk at Chinatown. My partner recognised the picture and told me it is indeed Mr Erich Sollboeck, the owner of Erich's Wuerstelstand in the picture. According to a particular interview found online, he ordered most of his ingredients from Germany or Austria on a regular basis and he mentioned what he offered here and at his sausage kiosk are the real thing. We have heard a lot about him but never gotten a chance to try it so far. We ordered a Bockwurst (smoked pork sausage) set for $5.00.The bockwurst tasted meaty together with a soft bun that came with a cherry tomato and a leave of lettuce. It would definitely be better if a more generous portion of green is given. It was quite an experience no doubt. continue reading

Finally! A German food place that doesn't serve pork knuckles!! Don't get me wrong, I love my meat. But a massive lump of pork deep fried half to death just doesn't really appeal to me! Gimme a nice sausage anyday!I gotta say that this place does a great hotdog! Apparently the German concept of the hotdog comes with the sausage separate from the bun. I ordered the German platter for one and got the following: A sausage ( I don't know what type)An egg fried sunny side upA slice of meatloafSauerkraut! Some veggies pretending to be a saladMashed potatoesAt first I was a little skeptical if it was worth 8 bucks but it turned out pretty ok.The sausage is really tasty, there's a depth to the flavor you don't usually get from hotdogs. A little smoky but juicy and BIG! Good mix of quality and quantity!Surprisingly the star of the platter was the meatloaf! Looks a little like luncheon meat, but with a crispy crust and nice chargrill marks on the sides! The meatloaf had a texture that's totally different from what I expected. It's quite light! Went great with the yolk from the egg too! Next time I'm gonna go for a double slice of the meatloaf!! continue reading

Happened to see this stall and it was the only one at Suntec which didn't have a long queue. Browsing their menu, I saw that they got some pretty good and affordable menus, and so, I ordered their Pork Cheese Sausage which came with a big piece of bread and lettuce.Anyway, the sausage was really tasty and meaty. I enjoyed every bite. As for the bread, it was too dry and could've used butter. But since this isn't really a restaurant, you can't really expect much.Veggies were also good but they could've added more on my plate. Hehe. IM just saying.. but anyway, it was a good meal that wasn't too heavy even if it was sausage. continue reading
