The cafe was finally reopened after being closed for a period of time for renovation. The outlet was painted in light blue and gold, trying to look old school English. The cafe offers the same menu as other Toast Box outlets. The Food Opera also reopened with new food stall outlets. As the outlet was newly opened, the cashier was faced with problems such as unable to key in the products into the system. Credit cards and NETS machines were down too. The staff had to take orders manually and collect cash only for orders. For order that needed time to prepare, one would be given a pagar. Food will be served at your table in this case.Golden Lava French Toast 黄金土司Salted egg yolk custard sandwiched between two slices of golden-brown French toast. Delectably crispy on the outside, yet fluffy on the side.$4.40 with a cup of kopi or teh.The toast was quite dense and difficult to slice through. It was the old school french toast type with thick fried egg coating the bread, not the commonly found thick toast with light coating type. The filling was the liu sha pau type, more like custard than salted egg yolk flavour. The tea was pre-sweeten, and tasted just right.Kaya Cake ($1.80)The cake was old school type and looked yummy. But it was rather dry in texture, and one can barely taste the kaya in it.Overall the food was average and took awhile to arrive for the french toast. The rest was done ala minute and collect at the cashier while making payment. continue reading

Went for a meeting there and took away the curry chicken and bread from here. The curry chicken was packed in the paper container with potatoes and chicken wings. The curry was not too spicy but got coconut taste. The potato was soft and nice. The chicken wings were cooked to right texture. The curry sauce was nice when eat together with bread. It was quite filling for lunch. continue reading

Had a quick dinner here with my friend because neither one of us felt like having anything heavy. I ordered the kaya and butter baguette, together with a cup of teh-c. The food was average, basically how any toast would taste like. I like how they have toasted the baguette till it's crispy on the outside yet the inside remains soft and the entire baguette does not look burned at all. Service was pretty okay too. continue reading

My lunch at tea loft, orchard food opera today. It's beside of the food court. There's a lot of dishes to try at food court but it's a bit noisy and crowded. That's why, I went tea loft. The shop decoration quite nice and what I like most is mirrors at wall. You can see urself and others at there without turning your headI had chicken curry & rice at there. The curry is not too spicy, chicken is tender.I finished the whole plate It's so yummy but costs $5.70 T_T continue reading

not really a food review but just want to share this is a nice cosy place for a quick La Kopi break after lunch or around 4pm tea break. You queue to get your orders and self service to collect the ordered items. something about the teh-c kept me going back, also the wooden furniture makes the whole experience comfortable. Saw people ordering chix rice also, maybe can try out for lunch next time. Paid $1.60 for the teh-c. continue reading
