Tiong bahru food market. continue reading

Prawn Noodles - S$3Depending on my mood, sometimes I will go for the Dry version and sometimes I will go for the Soup version of the 'Prawn Noodles'. For a start, ingredients like 'Prawns'(Of course lah), 'Meatballs', slices of 'Fish Cake', 'Beansprouts', 'Kang Kong' and few slices of 'lean meat'. If you are into spicy stuff, the dry version of the 'Prawn Noodles' over here can really be very spicy. Besides for the powderish 'Chilli Powder', you can also add the 'sliced chilli', which can really spice up the overall taste of this dish to the MAX and that's where the bowl of non pepperish, tasty soup steps in. The reason why I keep going back for more 'Prawn Noodles' was mainly due to the fresh ingredients and the tasty soup that they are offering over here. On top of that, the stall owner is pretty polite and he keeps saying 'Thank You' for patronising his stall and he really puts his heart in ensuring the quality of the delicious bowl of 'Prawn Noodles' that will be delivered to all the customers everyday. continue reading

Grabbed some prawn mee for dinner that day after seeing that most of the other stalls were already closed. Was really satisfied with my choice of meal, with the noodle soup dish being very yummy. Prawns were fresh and the portion reasonable for $3. Noodles are cooked just nice and are not too soggy. I really like the fish cake and beansprouts that came with the dish too. continue reading

The prawn mee here is pretty good. I guess that's why the queue is always so long. Priced reasonably, the prawn mee soup has a pretty good flavour and the prawns used are fresh and cooked to perfection. I must prefer the dry version though, the delicious sauce is absolutely delicious and complements the ingredients and noodles super duper well. They also give lots of beansprouts for crunch. continue reading

This is one of the stalls that i have been patronising on a regular basis. Their attentive customer service is one of the main reasons that gotten me to come back. Their standard has been quite consistent but it can be disappointing at times just like this time. The pork ribs did not cook well enough so the meat was extremely chewy and a little tough too. The prawns tasted really fresh though. The mee pok was nicely cooked to give it the amazing springiness. I always like my bowl of noodle with extra chill added. And, what made this bowl of noodle delightfully tasty was that amount of sinful fried pork lards added to enhance its taste. It was a hearty meal nonetheless. continue reading
