Billy Bombers American Diner

I go to Billy Bombers usually for one thing only…the Malt milkshakes!

Sure the burgers are good, and so the nachos which come with a generous amount of minced beef, salsa, cheese and jalapenos, but the Malt milkshakes are out of this world!

I’ve actually never ordered the normal milkshakes but I’m sure they taste good just with no malt taste, which makes all the difference.

Thick and creamy, you just can’t help but watch the server pour the malt from the metal tumbler into your milkshake glass…and the malt added gives it an savoury-like taste to the drink. It’s like a meal on its own!

There were eight of us and because there was no 8 vacant seats together, we chose to wait for roughly 15mins outside the restaurant. Some of them were late too, so it doesn't matter. But if you are coming in a group, better make a reservation! In my opinion, most of the food ordered were really awful and they are definitely not worth the price. What I ordered was even worse, it looks like KFC.
Their price actually has a huge range too. It really depends on what you ordered. Some food are not worth the price, you'll know why later. Can't remember the exact name of this, but it goes around that line. This is actually the best dish among what we've ordered, surprisingly! And it's the cheapest as well!

Okay you probably don't think an hotdog bun should cost such an amount, but it's really the best among the others and the price is apparently one of the lowest in their menu already. Looks pretty decent as well, comes with mash potato as a side dish and some vegetables as garnishing. This half chicken looks juicy as well, I thought this is quite a decent dish for $14.90.

The worst part is here.

I don't know is it my unluckiness or am I just not good at ordering, I ordered this: The most expensive dish compared to the two mentioned above, yet the most atrocious dish.
Tell me what is the difference between this and KFC.

I was really in shock to see my food and the others. I mean, this doesn't justify its price, not at all. The salad that comes with it was badly prepared. The three pieces of chicken are so pathetically tiny, smaller than that of KFC's actually. And come on, compared to Betty's Roast Chicken, I am paying more for 3 fried chicken. What the?

The meat itself was indeed juicy, but the amount of meat presented in this dish is way too little. In other words, I am paying too much for this dish.

No other sauce except mustard sauce, which was not appetizing at all.

The ambience:
To be fair, the place is quiet and relaxing, a good place for people to come and have some catch ups with friends. But definitely not a good dining place for lunch/dinner. I heard that their smoothies and milkshakes are good ($6.90), perhaps can give it a try next time.

Experience and price:
Overall, I totally didn't enjoy myself at Billy's and I probably will not go back again. Some of the food are way too overpriced. The waitresses seem to be polite and her service was acceptable.

The portion was pretty huge to my liking. Basically, this meal consist of terriyaki chicken. 2 huge pieces of it. Onion rings and rice. There are also vegetables and baby carrots at the sides. The carrot and vegetables were a little too hard to chew. As for the onion rings, they were pretty nice. Crispy and hot. The chicken slices were really juicy and succulent. Very well marinated and the rice was fragrant too!

All american dinner at Billy Bombers. My meal consist of rice, hotdog, tempura prawns and a chicken drumstick. The chicken was well marinated and tender. It was fresh. However, i didn't really like the prawns. It wasn't too fresh in my opinion. Love the hotdog as well. It was crispy on the outer layer and tasty on the inner. Drizzled with mustard sauce which goes really well! The rice was a little too dry for my liking. All in all, it's a great meal!

The food was really good! I ordered the half spring chicken. It was really good. The chicken was very juicy and tender, but the best part of all was the dessert. It was truly amazing. I really really enjoyed it. It had the brownie with ice cream which made my taste buds go to heaven. It might be a little pricey but its really worth it. The atmosphere also is really nice, giving you an original American fell to it. I would also give the service 2 thumbs up, really enjoyed myself. I would suggest it to everyone and also their drinks. I got the coke float. Its a really big mug, so my advice is to share it with friends.

A friend suggested we try out Billy Bombers and so we did. The food was so GREAT! The food portions are relatively large, and is enough to fill up two tummies! Ordered different kinds of the meat they offered, like their steak, fish, bratwurst, the works. Enjoyed the food there, and it would be good to bring friends there, as it has a casual dining ambience, and there's even a jukebox there!

This restaurant was styled as a classic mid-80s American Diner, complete with neon lights, checked floor tiles, pictures of American icons Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe and a jukebox on every table, Billy Bombers serves up classic American dishes. A very retro concept.

The german hotdog burger is really tasting and filling although they are a bit on the pricey side. Generally though, their food is average... good enough to compare with other restaurants, but nothing really stand-out or spectacular enough to make me want to come back intentionally.
it is a good Friday meet up place eventually.

got whisky added so a bit bitter.
The meat is not as tender as i've tried at other restaurant..
But overall quite nice..
I love the green vege sides, esp the carrotmixed grill!
consists of turkey meat fillet, fish fillet with herb sauce, pork bacon, beef sausage, sunny side up egg, fries and green vege!
Awesome mixed platter for one!

The burger buns are spread with butter before toast, make it more tasty!
The side dishes are delicious as well.
Potato salad is a must try and if you try their fries,
they are cut from whole potatoes before deep-fried.

what i left was the billy bomber's peanut butter shake~

what i would say its really nice~ but for those who don't like peanut butter.. you can always try other shake~ as milk shake is really nice~

or even brownie ice cream.. strongly recommended for that =) melts in your mouth ... hot and really tasty with ice cream~

Billy Bombers for a great meal! Ordered the Baked Mussels which were quite nice because of its cheese topping and because it is very fresh. The House Salad with Shrimps was a superb choice too. They are fresh leafy vegetables which are topped with large shrimps. It served as a really good appetizer!

This is really awesome! Just writing this is making me have this urge to drink it right now! Honestly, I didn't really want to order this cause it's quite pricey for a milkshake, but I didn't regret it at all. It got really addictive though it was slightly too sweet upon the first mouthful. Very smooth indeed. The metal cup fills to about 1.5 times of the plastic one. A perfect dessert~

The portion of fish and chips is so huge! We could not finish it, so I asked the staff to pack a takeaway for our meals. But when I got home and opened the pack, it seemed like only half of the portion we left on the plates. Well, anyway, the fish was good, even when it became soft and less crunchy after lugging that pack home.
