We were there on a weekday evening for dinner,it was full house, with queue outside the outlet as well.Luckily we made reservations in advance. The restaurant was quite big but the tables and chairs were quite closely spaced together. There was a good selection of food for the buffet and price was about $24.80++ for dinner per person. There was also fried food such as fried chicken wings, fish nuggets, steamed gyoza. There is also a salad bar with corns, veges and hams.I love their kimchi soup which is richly flavoured and their garlic chicken taste really good when bbq-ed with onions and enoki mushroom. There is free flow iced water and drinks such as lime juice, barley water.I enjoyed the dining experience and we would be back again. continue reading

After work have went to this bbq restaurant with my friends to check out their popular bbq buffet. Restaurant is spacious and cooling, service here is also friendly and fast in clearing the table plates as well. Love those juicy thinly sliced pork belly which is fresh and chewy. The corn salad is refreshing and appetizing. Crunchy lettuces to wrap the cooked bbq pork meat certainly is yummy and healthy! Their kim chi is spicy and fresh, and great to eat with their bbq meat. For the price of $21.80, is cheap! continue reading

Recently i went to Ssikkek, the branch at United Square, on a weekday. My friends and I were the first to reach and we had to wait because the lunch buffet have not started yet and they were still preparing. Still we were allowed to sit down on some chairs before we were showed to our seats. Ssikkek proved to be quite the popular Korean bbq joint when the place became quite pack as the lunch hour peaked. I like the selection of food there. They have slices of potato, ham, some cooked food like the Korean cellophane noodles (MY FAVOURITE) and small bowls of bibimbap (easy for the customer to take and more effective serving wise. People go for bbq for the meat. duh!), and of course meat! They have several variations and so its good for people who like more choice. Anyway the place was bustling with customers and korean music videos~ Quite entertaining. Imagine watching TV as you eat your food. I quite like the food here for they offer a wider selection and its also quite affordable. The price you pay for the buffet. Overall good place to return to and since they have so many branches, its not too difficult to go to another to satisfy my craving for Korean food! continue reading

Not long ago my clique and I decided to have an awesome brunch at Ssikkek Korean Grill BBQ Buffet. One of its older outlets was relocated to here at United Square, a pretty centralized and accessible place. The restaurant itself is really big and spacious and there are also several televisions hanging on the wall playing Korean variety shows and K-pop performances. The main buffet selection includes 5-6 trays of meat including spicy chicken, garlic chicken, pork collar, squid and different kinds of beef. Their cooked food selection comprises of glass noodle, spicy rice cakes, sushi as well as 4 different types of soup like creamy ginseng, seafood, seaweed and kimchi. There are also other side dishes like salads and fruits. They also offer miniature version of bibimbap like the one below and you can feel free to add your freshly grilled meat to it or any way you like. And after having mouthful of meat one after another, we figured it'd be fun to eat creatively like the Koreans by wrapping the meat with some lettuce and more. It's delicious. After including GST & Service charges, each of us paid exactly $16.50. Although the variety and selection isn't that greatly extensive, but taking into considerations the 1.5 hours we spent there at that price, it is overall a wonderful experience to enjoy Korean BBQ without burning holes in our pockets! continue reading

The Korean BBQ store relocated from novena lodge, and its better than before. Their grill is new and without aluminum foil, and throughout the 2 hours that i was there, I didnt have the problems of burnt meat being stuck on the grill. Even though the price increased slightly, but it is still a worthwhile meal ($26). Though ice water is provided, i preferred the pomegranate drink. It is very sweet and refreshing! All their meat is well marinated, and taste the best when wrapped with raw lettuce. Try to put the kimchi on the grill and add it to the wrap too, its good! Selection of meat wise was limited for a buffet, but sufficient. There are fruits and salad for the health conscious. continue reading
