SUFOOD is the first outlet outside of Taiwan and a collaboration with local Heng Hwa restaurant Putien. It's a new meat-free dining concept, which has a brilliant track record from Taiwan. SUFOOD is not only inspired by Italian cuisine but also by how it is prepared; through only using basic cooking techniques, Italian cuisine still exudes diverse and rich flavours. SUFOOD thus relies chiefly on the quality of the fresh ingredients to create innovative and delicious meat-free cuisines. continue reading

Second visit to SUFood has been as pleasing as the first. What you see on the menu is what you get on your table... Food ingredients are very fresh and tasty, portion is just right and service of staff was good and prompt. There are only two choices for pizza but both are of very different tastes. Crust is thin and crispy, thus you can really taste the pizza sauce and ingredients. The bibimbap looks just like the ones you get at korean restaurants, and taste just as good too. The roselle jelly is worth a try, light and refreshing. however, the lava cake dessert is a little of a disappointment with the lava not flowy enough...And we super love their salads. Served on big plates, the fruits and vegetables are given generously but not overwhelming. The blueberry yogurt dressing has us wiping the plate clean as it is pleasantly sweet and light. Matches all the fruits and vegetables in the salad so well.Restaurant is also super clean and hygienic... continue reading

Original review at http://www.nahmj.com/2016/04/30/sufood-singapore-celebrates-mothers-day-2016-raffles-cityI heard a lot of good comments about Sufood not from the online reviews but from my vegetarian friends and colleagues. It set me curious to find out how good could vegetarian dishes be. My Mom and I visited the outlet at Raffles City on a Thursday. To my surprise, it was almost at 80% capacity at around 7pm.The ambience is elegant and classy with creamy colour tones and warm lighting. The space is decked with cushy chairs. As such it was a comfy having meals with family and friends. At Dinner, Sufood is serving a 8-course Italian-Inspired Meatless Cuisine set meal at $29.80++ per person. The first 2 course consist of The Sufood Appetizer and Sufood Signature Cider. I like the Sufood Signature Cider, it has a good balance of sweet and sour. It helps to whet appetite. The plating of the Sufood Appetizer was exquisite. Each component was with different colours. It is not only attractive to the eyes but to the tastebud too.We were advised to start with the Japanese Yuca Root drizzled with a blueberry coulis and move on to the lady finger and finally the Savoury Cherry Tomato. The souriness get intensified as we moved to the next. The Rosemary Breadstick with either the Blueberry Coulis and another creamy sauce were served as dip. Bread was fluffy with light rosemary scent. I like the toasted version better that resulted in crispy texture. A total of 4 salads is available for selection. We opted for the Classic Garden Salad with Caesar Dressing or Sesame Sauce and the Lettuce Vinaigrette Salad. Nothing outstanding about the salad. The two other options are the Mushroom Salad and Tropical Fruit Salad.Like the salad, 4 choices available. We went for the Root Soup which we find it outstanding. While the Pumpkin Soup was sweet and isn't the heavily creamy kind of soup. Even though I am not a soup fan, I appreciate the soup.If you are wondering what other soup does Sufood Singapore offers, they are the Misto Mushroom Soup and the French Onion and Cheese Soup.12 dishes for Mains; 4 Pizza, a rice dish, a baked potato, a vegetable skewer and 5 pasta dishes. We ordered the Porcini Pasta and Macaroni Alfredo Casserole. We enjoyed the Porcini Pasta as we thought with the Red Pepper and Jalapeño sauce, it tasted unique. It has a little Sichuan flavour in this pasta dish. Macaroni Alfredo Casserole is a rich creamy with generous amount of cheese on top of the macaroni. There cream based has tomato added to provide a tanginess, to lighten the creamy feel. Finally dessert time. Our choice of dessert were Red Bean Dessert with Yam Cubes and Mango Frollino. The Red Bean Dessert with Yam Cubes was filled with home-made goodness. While our vote will certainly goes to the Mango Frollino. We ended our meal with 2 refreshing fruit, vegetable juices. I have The Purely (on the right of the photo) consisting of pineapple, choy sum and sour plum. While my mom has The Sunny with pineapple, orange and guava juice. Among the 2, we prefer The Sunny.More reviews on http://www.nahmj.com/ continue reading

Part of the Wowprime Group from Taiwan, Sufood is a meat-free, vegetarian restaurant offering wholesome, Italian inspired dishes prepared according to the Chinese 5 colour vegetable philosophy (Yellow-Sunny, White-Comfy, Purple-Tasty, Green-Pure, Red-Lively). Opening in May 2014, the innovative concept of Sufood was among the first of its kind in Singapore, quickly attracting competitors into its niche market. Ambience at Sufood is modern refined, with curvy, wavy lines reflecting a serene atmosphere of calm. Quiet alcoves, lined with functional tables and plush booths, have been carved out, with splashes of red intersecting the space. While great for privacy, the layout also makes attracting the attention of staff very difficult. The 5 colour philosophy is also reflected in the design, straight lighted bars of yellow, white, purple, red, and green, adorn the place.Service at Sufood is very good. Staff are attentive and efficient, speaking quietly and professionally with diners. They even check for dietary requirements, before making recommendations on what to order! I note they clear empty / dirty tables and plates very quickly. Orders are fulfilled fast, usually within 10 minutes. Staff also regularly check on your dining experience, and ask for feedback on the meal. During payment, I was overcharged by accident, a mistake which staff quickly rectified and apologied for.Food at Sufood is vegetarian, a healthy, wholesome, completely meat-free dining experience. Each dish uses fresh ingredients, prepared according to the 5 colour philosophy, plated to resemble Western Italian presentation, and is tasty and healthy. Ordering the set meal is possibly the most value for money, instead of the individual ala-carte items. Prices are slightly high for the quality and quantity of food, budget about SGD $32 per person for a meal here. Personally, I feel other similar places execute this concept better.Loved the Mushroom Salad (SGD $6), with its mix of button mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and broccoli, dressed in a savoury sour vinegar and garlic sauce. The vegetables are fresh, clean tasting, juicy, and earthy... comforting and satisfiying! Highly recommended!Loved the filling Lucky Clover Pizza (SGD $15), shaped like a 6-leaf clover, designed to bring luck! A crunchy pizza dough base is topped with broccoli, lion's mane mushrooms, bell peppers / capsicums, and scallions, making for a crunchy, chewy, sweet, savoury, earthy treat! They even provide a plastic glove if you choose to eat it with your hands. Highly recommended!Full Sufood review: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2016/03/sufood.html continue reading

Tonite I am being invited to a tasting of new dishes which will be lauching on 1 Nov. A 8-course meal here costs $29.80++ and consists of starter, bread, cider, salad, soup, main, dessert and drink. We start the meal with the usual which are vinegar cider and breadstick.SUFOOD Signature CiderIt is tasted sweet and tart, which is used for palate cleansing.Rosemary BreadsticksIt is served with either Mustard or Blueberry Dip. I myself prefer the blueberry dip as it is sweet and rich in taste.Soup:Misto Mushroom Soup hearty stew of mixed mushrooms simmered in vegetable stock that deliver a refreshing tasteThe soup is made of 4 different types of mushrooms - Button mushroom, White Shimeji Mushroom, Bai-ling mushroom (bai ling gu 百靈菇), and Brazil mushroom 巴西蘑菇. The Brazil mushroom has a unique dried up appearance but taste crunchy. The soup is light and flavourful. I wish that we  could have been served more of it.Main courses:Rainbow Baked Pasta classic Italian baked pasta filled with broccoli, cherry radish and oven-baked in signature creamy tomato sauceThe dish is kind of similar to another dish Macaroni Alfredo Casserole in this current menu, but this version is made with pink sauce which kind of make the dish less rich in taste.Zesty Oyster Mushroom Rice King oyster mushrooms infused with spicy sauce, served with oven-roasted rice and garnished with colourful vegetablesIt is the restaurant's version of Bibimbap, but the taste is a far cry from the actual stuff. I feel that too much doenjang (a salty soybean paste) is added, which makes the dish rather salty. The rice has a odd curry powder taste which the staff replys that it is from the spinach. This is just not my kind of dish.Lucky Clover Pizza A lucky 6-leaf clover shaped pizza filled with Lion’s mane mushrooms, broccoli, pepper and scallionsThe part that is topped with scallions, kinda of reminds me of the chinese style of Spring onion pancakes 葱油饼. Almost want to ask if there is vinegar dip to go with it. The Lion’s mane mushrooms is diced up to represent meat cubes. Interesting.White Ferula Pesto PastaItalian pasta sautéed with fresh basil pesto and topped with White Ferula MushroomsThe pesto sauce is quite rich and flavourful, which is balanced by the shredded pickled red cabbage in taste. The pine nuts give a nutty texture to the dish. One of my favourite dish tonight.Dessert:Mango FrollinoA flavourful layered cake with fresh mango cubes, custard sauce and blueberryThe top and the bottom are covered with egg crepe. The custard is served frozen with the mango cubes in it, in order to hold its shape. Feel that it would be better if there is more mango in it.Fruit Juices:For Fruit Juices, there is 5 new drinks whose colors assoicated with the restaurant's logo, but only 4 are served in this tasting. The Comfy White in color, the drink is made of pear and yucca roots. Refreshing and cooling in taste. I am expecting the drink to be thicker since yucca root is used. The Lively Red in color, the drink is made of tomato and watermelon. Tastes mainly the watermelon. Would have prefer a stronger amount of tomato juice in it. Seem that cherry tomatoes are used here which is why the amount is not noticeable. The Purely Green in color, the drink is made of choy sum and sour plum. The sour plum lends a unique sour taste to the otherwise rather green drink. It really shooks one awake. The Sunny Yellow in color, the drink is made of orange and pineapple. Light and refreshing in taste.Overall the food is not bad. Although the servings are in tasting portions, we are all quite full at the end of the meal. Looking forward to the launch of the dishes on 1 Nov. continue reading

Thanks to the people at Su Food, I got to try out their 8 course Italian-Inspired Vegetarian cuisine. I have never been a big fan of Vegetarian food, but the dishes served at Su Food definitely made me a convert. I can't wait to bring my parents there to savor them in the near future!------------------------------Background Story:Founded in 2010, SUFOOD is the first meat-free concept restaurant under WOWPRIME GROUP, the largest F&B operator in Taiwan. Through a joint venture, SUFOOD is launching in Singapore for the very first time at Raffles City in May 2014.SUFOOD is not only inspired by Italian cuisine but also by how it is prepared; though only using basic cooking techniques, Italian cuisine still exudes diverse and rich flavors. SUFOOD thus relies chiefly on the quality of the fresh ingredients to create innovative and delicious meat-free cuisines.Their manifesto of using the rule of five:5-colour groups of vegetables & fruits to give you a variety of nutrients5 natural spices for an added flavor boost and5 cooking methods to present you with an utterly gastronomical indulgence!------------------------------The set course costs $29.80++, but I can assure you that it is definitely value-for-money, especially with the standard of food served and the pleasure of dining in such an amazing ambiance. I highly doubt you can find any restaurant that serves quality Vegetarian cuisine at such an affordable price. PROMOTION:They're currently having a promotion for DBS/POSB card members!Enjoy a 1 for 1 8-course meal (worth $29.80++), valid from 2 - 4:30pm daily!(But I mean, I would also go even without the promo because yes, the food is THAT good. I'm not trying to oversell them here. It's truly based on my personal opinion!)Su Food is located at Raffles City Shopping Centre, Level 2!Opening Hours:Lunch: 1130am - 430pm (last order at 3pm)Dinner: 530pm - 10.30pm (last order at 9pm)Tel:6333 5338Before ordering, the servers would check with you if you're allergic / can't consume Garlic or onion!Definitely a thumbs up for their impeccable service! The menu at Su Food is pretty structured and fitted to your personal palette. It focuses on an 8 course meal with various choices of salads, soup, mains, dessert and drinks. We were first greeted with a cup of Mulberry Cider Vinegar to cleanse our palette before each main course. The vinegar might be a little strong for some on the first sip, but you'll gradually get accustomed to it after the consecutive sips! 1) AppetizersWe were advised to dine from right to left so that the end taste would not be too overpowering. From right to left: Japanese Yam with wolfberry dressing, Taiwanese, Oriental greens with Sesame dressing and a savory Cherry Tomato Jelly. 2) Rosemary Breadsticks - FAV!Homemade rosemary infused breadsticks ith a choice of Thousand Island / Mustard Dip. Couldn't get enough of the mustard dip!3) Salads Mushroom Salad (Button and Shitake mushrooms with steamed broccoli and sliced cherry tomatoes glazed in a vinegar dressing) Summer Salad(A colorful array of sweet potato, carrot, pepper. and seasonal fruits served with Thousand island dressing and sesame sauce) 4) Soup Cabbage and Sweet Potato Stew(Konjac root stewed with cabbage and sweet potato)Mushroom and Pea Pottage (Button, Shitake and King Oyster mushrooms stewed with blended sweet peas)5) MainsWild Mushroom Charcoal Tagliatelle - MY FAV!(King Oyster mushrooms sauteed in light olive oil and homemade dressing on a bed of fragrant charcoal tagliatelle) For those who might not know what Tagliatelle is, they're long, flat ribbons of pasta. The Tagliatelle at Su Food brought pastas to a whole new level. They were so springy, chewy and light!I would highly recommend you guys to order this when you are there as it's one of their signature dishes as well! Star Pizza - MY FAV!(A golden star-shaped pizza, filled with oyster mushrooms, cream cheese, mustard and wasabi mayo sauce. Topped with salted seaweed)The mains were the star dishes of our entire meal (no pun intended). Like seriously, how can you say no to a cream cheese stuffed pizza? The seasoning and toppings worked really well together!6) Desserts Vanilla Ice-cream with Hot Chocolate (Coat your vanilla ice-cream in as much warm, dark chocolate fudge sauce as you wish)Banana Cheesecake(Banana cheesecake drizzled with blueberry sauce, accompanied with chocolate waffle roll)7) Drinks Left: Passion Fruit Calamansi Drink(Refreshing aromatic calamansi tea with fresh passion fruit)Right:The Ashitaba(Restorative Japanese Ashitaba leaves, blended with aloe vera juice and honey)------------------------------Thank you so much for the invite once again!
