My ultimate Jap Comfort Food! Clear Soup Udon with Sweet Beancurd. The soup was well seasoned with Katsuobushi and the udon was at the right texture (neither was it too chewy nor soft). I couldn't tell you how much I love tod eat beancurd, especially the one soaked in Sweet Soy Sauce. Definitely worth a second visit. When the grilled eel was bigger than the sushi rice, heaven seem got closer. The fillet almost covered the sushi below. If you really like the oily and sweet grilled eel, you will definitely like it. The sweetness from the sauce totally covered the sourness from the sushi ricce and the strong oily eel taste just make it too jelat (overwhelming) to finish by one person. continue reading

Sushi tei is one of my top places to for lunch as I really like the environment and most importantly, the food there. One does not simply visit Sushi tei without ordering its star item, the dragon roll. Deep fried king prawn and avocado slices, whats not to like? I will also order the cha soba as well, love the bouncy texture of the noodles and the sauce. Overall, quality food at reasonable prices. continue reading

This place has always been of my favourite places to go to if i ever want to get some japanese food! The flavours are good, and so are the freshness of the ingredients! One of the dishes that i always get and will never get sick of will be the sashimi salad or ramen salad! The reason why it's so good is because the ingredients are fresh and because the sesame sauce and sushi tei dressing goes amazingly with it!!!! This will always be one of my comfort foods! continue reading

Sushi tei is my staple whenever I crave for Jap food especially sushi... Not sure if I am bias but I think taka sushi tei has the best quality in terms of food and service. All the staff is very attentive and happy to help. The sushi is absolutely divine! Prices are reasonable as well Of all the sushi chains, I have always felt that Sushi Tei was above the norm and set the standards. I really love it especially the salmon belly *drool* their grill cod fish is very well done not too over cooked and generous servings... soft shell crab maki is the best of all.that’s the thing I like and appreciate about sushi tei. They always serve generous quantities on top of the good quality food! Give this a try if u is sick of Japanese restaurant with compromised quality or sky high prices. You will not be disappointed! I have tried several Japanese restaurant, high ends and low ends and I always end up back in here. Love it to bits! I think I patronize them on average once a week! Ha-ha... continue reading

Full Review & Photos @ http://www.celestialdelish.com/2013/05/sushi-tei-spring-is-springing-promotion.htmlThe well-known and leading chain of Japanese restaurants has kicked off its Spring celebration with the best of the best - Kagoshima Pork. Freshly imported from Kagoshima Prefecture by Sushi Tei, this particular type of Pork is sought after for its sweet flavour and rich fragrance, combined with its delicate texture and juiciness. Chefs at Sushi Tei have whipped up a comprehensive Spring menu showcasing Kagoshima Pork signature dishes, as well as other specialties for the season. The Spring menu is available from now till 15 June 2013.- Sayori Sashimi @ $12 (s size) / $15 (m size)The Spring delicacy is a sleek silver fish with a distinctive long and protruding lower jaw and it hence also known as Japanese halfbeak or needlefish. It has a sweet finish with a fine fishy flavour that not everyone will appreciate. Melded well with ginger and a light shoyu dip is enough to accentuate its sweetness and reduce the fishy smell.- Kani Gyoza @ $6Tender skin with every bite filled with succulent crab meat, seasoning was light yet flavourful. Served with vinegar and chilli oil dip.- Pinta Tofu @ $4.80Chilled organic tofu topped with century egg and fish roe, with creamy special century egg sauce. The century egg sauce do not have the distinct skunky after taste, in fact it was sweet and tasty. So simple yet so delicious.- Kagoshima Miso Yaki Pork @ $11.50Skilfully carved pork lion slices are impeccably grilled after being marinating in miso sauce. Each piece features tender and flavoursome lean meat coupled with just the right amount of fat for a buttery finish. The sweet miso complements the flavour of the meat perfectly.- Kagoshima Pork Hamburger @ $8Each pork patty is a dense 130g of finely ground Kagoshima pork loin, mixed with finely chopped onions, carrots and a balanced sprinkling of salt & pepper. The hamburger steak was prized for juiciness, rich flavour and tenderness. Accompany with a traditional Okonomiyaki sauce with a hint of sake for extra oomph. The sweet and salty sauce may be a tad heavy on its own, but it sure go well with a bowl of rice!- Salt & Red Bean Ice Cream @ $3.40The milky vanilla ice cream was loaded with large valvety red beans, along with slight hint of saltiness. This is somehow new to me, very unique indeed. continue reading
