Was craving for their Niku Udon (beef udon) which is one of my favs at Sushi Tei, so I decided to head there for lunch to satisfy my craving. What I love about this dish is the generous amount of beef and how tender the meat is. The udon is also soft and chewy. Combined with the soup and seaweed, this is really comfort food for me However the soup this time round was a lot cloudier and oilier than normal, which is very strange because I've ordered this dish many times and the soup is always very clear. Not sure what happened today...however the taste of the soup was still equally good. Was feeling peckish so I also ordered some sushi for myself - Ebiko Avocado Maki. I wished there was more ebiko (flying fish roe) but I was still very satisfied with this maki. I really loved the soft creamy avocado within...makes me want to have more of it right now!I don't think the food at Sushi Tei is all yummy but I definitely love the 2 dishes I ordered today and they have been consistently good too. continue reading

Since i have been quite a long time not eating sushi so while organizing dinner outing with my clique, i suggested to go to Sushi Tei. The ambience at west coast plaza is very cozy and warmth. Upon reaching the place, thanks it was not a peak time yet so there was no queue.More review on my blog = http://cends.blogspot.comTempura Cold Soba Cold noodle chilled with ice cube. Ice cube was founded inside the soba when i digged the soba. Tempura was fresh but it was a bit too oily.Fried Salmon BellyThe number of salmon belly of its red plate is quite a lot and we ate it till too fully due to the oilness as well. Rest assured with non-smelly smell but it was not crispy enough.Pork Katsu DonKatsun don is a popular japanese food. Served with bowl of japanese rice topped with a deep - fried pork cutlet, egg and condiments. the pork cutlet / tonkatsu was filled with enough meat. definitely would serve as an appetizing emalSoba with SalmonIt is not a cold soba with the referring to first dish. Nonetheless, it is still a noodle. Same taste and type except it is not a cold type. Salmon is fresh and nice to eat together with the soba and the soup for its soba. The served soba may be quite dry, shall put the soup/sauce to release the driness. DumplingDumpling was a bit dry and over fried. But ingredients wrapped in dumpling was reasonable. continue reading

My Favour Sushi place is sushi tei. This amazing sushi dragon roll which is ebi with avocado. It's simple but it taste so good. The blend of Sushi rice with fried ebi and avocado makes the perfect combination. The Avocado makes the sushi so moist and the ebi is fried to perfection. continue reading

The crunchy and addictive Sushi Tei Ebi Tempura (Prawn Tempura) was my snack and nibble during a recent shopping trip to Vivo City.Priced at S$11.00 for six pieces of classic ultra light battered prawns to soothe my tea break craving. What makes a good crispy tempura is the creation of temperature between the batter and the oil. Since day one, Sushi Tei standard of preparing Ebi Tempura remain unchanged. Keep it up.On top of this, it seemed that all the outlets have a quality control standard of preparing their tempura dishes.Having been to their several outlets island wide, I find the cooking standard of tempura preparation are pretty consistent. continue reading

salmon sushi $3.80the salmon was lightly smoked on top with some big and juicy fish roes. worth a try even though it's quite expensive! tonkatsu ramen $13 the ramen looked really milky but did not taste very milky. The soup was good but the ramen looked like instant ramen. The katsu was very touch and too dry, not at all moist. The only thing good was that the batter was really thin so the meat could be savoured easily.hon maguro don $13Bluefin tuna sashimi! There were 5 pieces of maguro resting on a bed of sticky rice. Wish they could put some fish roes on top which would make it taste better! Sashimi was fresh. Worth a try. continue reading
