The Handburger

The Handburger was hidden from view, and I even walked past it before we finally located it. It had a very clean and simplistic layout, even the menu gave it a minimalist feel, which are so iconic of the many cafes now.

I can never understand how people hate huge burgers, they are so awesome! The more layers the better, mine had a whole fried egg in it, and definitely onion rings. I wish more burgers had onion rings in it, because why would you want it as a side dish when it could be part of your main course?

It was a satisfying meal, the patty was done well, it did not fall apart when I bit into it, yet it wasn't overly tough. It still retained its juicy tenderness. It was a good thing it came with salad, because I always need greens to balance out all that calorie rich flavours that went into the burger.

I was quite surprised about their food quality, cause they are very delicately prepared. I came also because of the groupon voucher I bought, so the price was alright. Then again, the price is slightly pricey if you pay it's original price. For the fishnchips, the fish are quite fresh and the portion is big as well! I love their fries because they taste like freshly sliced potato. For my burger, it's even more interesting! Though I can't really remember the name, but as you can see from the photo, it's topped with mandarin orange! The meat is pretty juicy as well.

Overall, I like this place!
Good for gatherings!

It's a pity they no longer operates here, but there's another outlet at rafflescity, which is one mrt stop away!

apparently this place will be closed on 25th, sad to see a nice food joint disappear. Anyway its my 1st visit there but have always heard rave reviews about them as a burger specialist. The shop concept is hip, trendy and innovative. Clipboard style menus, tuck shop like benches, mirrored walls all round, huge serving wooden pan with cutlery cutout grooves. Nice touches i must say. i ordered "The Works" which looks impressive based on presentation, stacked high up with lettuce, beef patty, cheese, fried egg, calamari, bacon, it certainly teases the hungry me. But its kind of too big to grab and eat so got to eat it like a steak. i also ordered a mushroom soup which i highly recommend, its rare that mushroom soup is served with mushroom bits and not the usual finely diced ones. The marshmallow nutella drink also impressed though its kind of small glass, its served with 3 pieces of lightly grilled marshmallow also Overall highly recommend this dish and soup but if i would to suggest an improvement, maybe some signature HandBurger sauces to go along?

Was really quite upset by the buffalo wings sold here as the price is quite high and the portion served is really little. The chicken meat is still quite tough and totally not juicy at all. The marination used in these chicken wings is also not that fragrant and not tasty as well. The presentation is also too plain and the chilli sauce used in this dish is also quite little as well.

The handburger have very good design and cosy environment. Staff were courteous and good in promoting their meals. I have try one chicken burger and one pork. All meals come with side dishes. Their french fries are freshly cut from potato and mushroom soup are full of mushroom flavour, unlike some restaurant which are use powder to make the soup. Burger are big and taste really nice especially the chicken one. Half burger already full my stomach. I will recommend friends to having meals there if shopping at somerset area. Good dining experience there.

After mum saw the menu, mm was stunned and did not know what to order. Most of the food from the menu were burgers
and these burgers sounded really unique. After some consideration, a mundane fish and chip was ordered. Fried with a
crispy batter, the flour sure was tasty and the fish was moist and tender. A good alternative for non-burger eaters. My meal had a soup of the day which was mushroom soup. The thought of mushroom soup made me sigh as nowadays
mushroom soup is rather common everywhere. However, a good mushroom soup is not everywhere. This one was
creamy and thick with chunks of mushrooms in it. I was tempted to get another bowl but was more excited for my main
course to arrive. Finally my burger arrived. I saw a few other tables around us having the very same burger. (Supposedly it was one of the popular item?) It looked rather unique and tasty. I had the beef patty medium cooked as I liked some blood (rawness) taste as compared to well done. (I was afraid that well done would meant being overcooked and stiff.) They had
caramelised onions, blue cheese, pear (baked I supposed and tasted horrible), tomato and vegetables inside. Overall it
was rather tasty and I do not mind coming back to try out the other types of burger.

Not only the different ranges of burgers tasty in this restaurant, you will also be delighted that their finger foods such as their grilled chicken wings taste equally delicious as well. The chicken wing meat is juicy and the meat is tender in texture. The secret of this winning dish is their secret marination sauce which used in their chicken wings, which make it really fragrant and not too salty too.

The potato patties is nice, mixed with other vege and battered and deep fried.

i dont quite like the flavour and taste of blue cheese, too strong for me.

The vegetarian burger is actually quite nice too, with crispily battered vege potato koroke and vege.

was surprised that the burgers and fries were so good this time as we tried it when they just opened and it was really bad back then. the meat was nicely done and generous. the cheese was good. the buns were freshly made on site! the french fries were great too. much like macdonald's fries. would prefer a thicker french fries. but otherwise the whole meal was great. the green tea is a tea bag in a cup with stains. and it's not japanese green tea. service is efficient. they have really brushed up their game!

My friend ordered The wok, which looks huge cause they stack everything up.
I do not take beef, so i cannot comment on the burger.
But i took one of the onion rings from her burger,
and i must say, their onion rings are great!
In the end we each ordered onion rings as extra add on.
The mushroom soup is awesome too, very rich in flavour and with small chunky mushroom bits.

Nowadays, Burgers are commonly associated with fast food due to the rising number of fast food chain. It’s rare to be in a restaurant that serves only burger. The design of the whole restaurant and the coaster that is specially designed for their fries and burger is pretty fresh in Singapore.

The taste of the burger is pretty good. the tender piece of meat and the thin slice of lotus made a real GOOD burger. The addition of the lettuce balances the whole meal and made it seem not as heavy.

Price is approx $10, reasonable for a meal in a restaurant. Come and give it a try!

I have heard this is gourmet burgers.
I would have a higher expectation as compare to those fast food chain stores.

In terms of choices for types of breads and fillings, they are certainly won.
We need to get use to the way they place order as we need to choose the type of bread, fillings, etc, on our own.
We visited this restaurant on Sunday at about 5pm and the restaurant already more than half full with customers.
We visited this for the first time so they gave us a free member card to be registered on line. The card is to accumulate the points.

Next time I would like to visit again and I'll try their main burger

I had the Chicken Cajun Gordon Bleu. It is essentially deep fried chicken breast + grilled portobello mushroom + tomotoes + grilled cheese +olive bread. Yums. I think they somehow managed to incorporate the fried chicken with gordon bleu, had a little tinge of alcohol in it. And i so love portobello mushrooms grilled to juicy perfection.Nutella Milkshake served with marshmallows. Absolutely sinful. A mixture of milky milkshake with nutella bits floating around. I can feel my arteries clogging already!

Beef burger with egg and onion rings on top which make it so tall !! and it's very full after finished the whole burger. The fries are nice. And the mushroom soup has very strong mushroom flavour with pieces of mushroom, highly recommended for mushroom lover.
