We were showed to a table nearest to the door as we came in with a pram, so it would be easy to push the pram to the table. However the table was directly under the aircon and it was raining heavily outside, so it was quite cold for us.From the Kids' Menu, we ordered for little JJFish and Chips ($12.80++)Crispy snapper fillet. Served with french fries, coleslaw and tartare sauce. Served with fresh fruit yogurt. The serving looked big and more for enough for the little one.Coco Carousel ($16++)Best eat the Over The Top Milkshake as fast as possible, because the toppings were dropping all over place in no time. The drink was quite chocolatey. By the way those rock like bites are chocolates too.Bacon & Mushroom Fettucine with Truffle Oil ($22)bacon, forest mushrooms, truffle oil, fettucine and egg-drop cream sauceAlthough it was quite rich and creamy but tasted not bad. Also ordered the 3 course Christmas meal ($42++) which was available till 2 Jan 2017.Cream of Seafood Soup (ala carte $12)Simmered with prawns, mussels and white fish, served with garlic toast. The soup was rich and creamy but got cold very easily.Turkey Parcel with Onion-Cranberry Sauce (ala carte $26)Pulled turkey and garden vegetable wrapped in savoury crepe, topped with tiger prawns. Served with onion-cranberry brown sauce. The serving was too much that I easily got full after a couple of mouthfuls.Raspberry Cheese Parfait (ala carte $11)Raspberry cheese parfait, giant red macaron, raspberry coulis, and fresh raspberriesThe parfait was quite creamy and not too sweet, which I spread it on the macaron and ate it like an open sandwich.Overall the servings were huge but tasted average. continue reading

See more reviews at http://thehungrybunnie.blogspot.comWe like Robert Timms for its lack of posers and a very appealing down-to-earth ambience. I suppose the Aussie way of living really does shine through the laidback vibe at Robert Timms. We spent about 3 hours reading the newspapers and magazines, available in-house of course, while enjoying a very slow leisurely brunch. The good thing about Robert Timms is that they aren't that popular, and so, it's usually about 80% (maximum) filled, which adds to the lazy morning feel of the place. You don't ever feel rushed to finish up so the next group hanging out in the ridiculously long queue outside the cafe can occupy your table. The place is also relatively quiet (people speak in hushed tones here) so it's really quite a relaxing place to chill for hours. However, there's a reason for the cafe's lack of a crowd. The food is just average, even if the price range is very reasonable and it's one of the cheaper brunch places in town. The truth is, you can get better eggs elsewhere. Still, balancing Robert Timms' great ambience against its so-so food, it kind of evens out. I'll be back continue reading

The House of Robert Timms is big. My impression was just an indoor cafe, but apparently the alfresco area is big and wide. But unfortunately it was like as hot as an hell that afternoon, so aircon please! The service staff were friendly but not that attentive though. Took them a while to catch our attention. Anyway, the first thing that caught my eye was the seize of their macaroons and their carrot cake. I remembered telling my friend that i would look like a mouse holding on to that macaroon to eat. Since both of us weren't hungry, we ordered a couple of main sides and warm beverages. Like what my titles said, are the servings here for Giant sized people? The Cheesy Bolgnoise Criss cut Wedges portion was huge. It is definitely not a side dish i tell you! And we were not expecting the Calamari Rings to be the same as well. Loved how the place here is generous with the portion,The Caramel Coffee was just heavenly for me.. Im definitely definitely definitely coming back here again! continue reading

The mussel and clams pot cooked in white wine sauce is really awesome! I prefer the mussels to the clams but you can order if you want all mussels, all clams, or mixed. The star of the show, for me, is the broth. White wine cooked with onions, peppers and very tasty. You get 2 slices of toasted bread to dip. Good for sharing! The pavola is very sweet but light as air. You feel like you're eating nothing at all. I scrapped most of the cream off and just enjoy it with the raspberry and the strawberry ice cream. continue reading

So my friends and i decided to go to somewhere fancy since my friend is back from the US and we havent met in years. We headed for dinner first followed by drinks and snacks at this place. So a meet up between my old group of friends we headed over to Robert Timms, the service staff was there to greet us promptly. Since there was no smoking table, my friends and i had no choice but to move in to the air-conditioned area. The seats were very comfortable and i felt really good.Once the smoking table was available, the waiter called us immediately. My friends and i shared an Eggs Benedict. This was really awesome as the yolk melted and broke very nicely. This is probably the only time i like my eggs runny apart from mixing it with sambal fried rice. Servings were quite small but the price wasnt that bad.Upon which, we ordered our drinks, one of my friends had a hazelnut latte which was delightful! Very aromatic and tasty while my other friend had some frappe, it tasted pretty good but i was not very happy with mine maybe coz i dont really like sugar. I order some banana chocolate frappe which was extremely sweet! Not to my liking but if you guys like sweet stuff... this is one treat for you.Overall an awesome experience... continue reading
