Chicken Cheese MURTABAK ($6 /small)
The serving is in average size although I have ordered a small one. It is served with a small dish of curry. The prata is very crispy, filled with shredded chicken and meltd cheese inside. It kind of reminding me of a super thin skin curry puff. The roti prata has a rather deep fried texture with its super crispy feel. Some may feel that it is quite jelat eating this.

Teh Cino ($1.50/ Iced)
It is the local version of tea latte. One can see the layers of milk and tea separated. The milk part actually tastes quite sweet, while the tea is unsweeted. So when mixed together, it actually tastes quite nice and refreshing.

Overall the food is not bad, but one has to take it easy for its slow service. For such a big place, there is only 1 person taking order and another serving the food. So don't be surprised if one cannot find a clean table.

As for the cheese prata, it is quite a good combination and the cheese flavour blend very well with the prata. Their curry sauce come in 2 different version, one of which I think it the normal prata curry. The second sauce which has a color that is slightly towards red was quite addictive, not very sure what sauce is it but it is a little too salty for me.  Apart from this 2 prata, this shop also offer more than 8 different flavours of the prata. Lastly, the teh cino drink is very refreshing, I think it is a blend of the tea together with some kind of milk which I personally quite like the taste of it. Price wise is very reasonable and the food quality is good as well !!

We started with a Plain (original) Prata (SGD$0.90) that came with a small plate of curry. Then we also shared a Mushroom Cheese Prata - a thick prata made with slices of button mushroom and plenty of cheese. It was very tasty at first few bites - with and without infusion of curry, but gradually it got colder and the mess of cheese became rather unappetising.

We also had a Banana Prata - a sweet, lovely dessert with real banana slices amongst the crepe-like skin of the roti prata. I enjoyed this - would have been perfect with some hot fudge or chocolate sauce!

We also had a plate of Maggi Goreng (fried maggi noodle) with some vegetables and eggs. I enjoy maggi goreng usually because the way these Indian restaurants fried it, the texture was springy and flavor was awesome; hence I got hooked. The last time I had this dish here (about 2-3 years back), I had thought it fantastic, as had The Beau and friends with us then.

Tonight, however, the noodle was soggy and limp, and the maggi goreng itself was sweet as though it had been fried in tomato sauce only. It was very disappointing.

We both also had Lime Juice - something citrusy to cleanse the palate and balance the heavy flavors of our meal.

Ice Cream Prata - $4. Not your ordinary prata! The Roti Prata House tried to bring prata to the next level by serving it with ice cream. Crispy prata served with vanilla chocolate chips ice cream, topped with dollop of whipped cream, drizzled with strawberry and chocolate syrup - what could you ask for more? You may not see the ice cream in the pic above, since the ice cream is actually rolled inside the prata. Suitable for sweet-sucker like me.

Do take note that during the times when the crowd traffic is high, the service can be very slow and disorganized (even calling the waiter for service can be a serious issue). Thankfully, when I was there, the service was fine. As I sat down, the waiter came right away to give the menu. It also didn't take long for my order to be served - in around 5 minutes my prata had arrived on my table.

Prata first, it was crispy and fluffy to bite into. Dissolved heavenly in my mouth, a pouring of curry was just nice to accompany plain thinly dough. Let’s talk about Chicken Bryani, I wondered how they handled the seasoning until so perfect. No sickening oily, the flesh was tangy tender with wonderful spices fragrant of rice. Price was absolutely cheap, less than $15.00 for two persons including drinks, main courses and snacks. Forget about sinful fattening issue for a short while, I enjoyed the meal throughout the end.

This arrived cut up into small bite-sized squares which I really appreciated.

Perfect for dipping into the side of chicken curry gravy.

The prata exterior was crispy indeed and encased pieces of red stained tandoori chicken and stringy cheese.

I tried the strawberry Prata. They have different Prata variations such as savoury and sweet pratas such as with ice cream with mushrooms and even tomatoes. Their pratas are light and fluffy too, just what I like! What's more, the interesting part about The Roti Prata House is that customers can choose their own prata ingredients and create their own Pratas.

I love prata and the prata at The Roti Prata House has got to be one of my favourite. It is located at Upper Thomson Road. This is the only place though where the prata is a little crispy on the outside and yet still soft inside. My favorite is the mushroom and cheese because they don't skimp on the cheese and mushroom and an egg is added. Well worth the money and will definitely be back.

Although the ambience of this place isn't so nice, no matter what time you go you may not find a table, that is why I am not giving it 4 stars. The tables are also sticky all the time and I always have to end up waiting for a long time for the orders to come. The service also isn't the most hospitable. Probably because they get so much business.

We ordered 3 crispy prata($0.90 each), 1 egg prata, 1 bomb kaya, 1 banana prata and 2 pieces of cripsy fried chicken($4 each), of course the teh tarik($0.90) as usual. The teh tarik still same as last time, not really my liking, crispy fried chicken I felt less taste. These 2 items, I prefer the one near my house, the Haji Karim. Crispy prata and bomb prata somehow I feel quite think and I had a feeling like eating bun. The bomb prata not the same as I had in Malaysia, it is not mixed well, you can only find kaya at one side. According to one of my friend, it suppose to come out like a bomb, round then later it will become flat but we don't see that effect. In KL, I seldom see such bomb effect but the taste of Roti Bomb(Bomb Prata) tasted better than here. Credit to the egg prata and banana prata, especially banana prata, I feel this is really nice compare to the one I tried at Prata Raya.

Food does not have to be expensive to be good. This place is proof of that. In fact, I would go so far to say that this humble place is one of my favorites in Singapore. I usually get the egg and onion prata and a lime juice. Special mention goes to the lime juice here. It's real calamansi limes, sugar, ice and water. It's not that fake neon stuff common in Singapore now that burns your throat going down, it's the real deal. (Please, don't ever change it guys.)I guess I should also mention this

I guess I should also mention this isn't healthy food. But it is real food. A couple times a year won't kill you. It's also a great place to bring out of towners for an authentic Singapore meal away from the CBD. Unless they're snobs they'll probably dig it.

The menu is on a plastic sheet/board and from here it is evident that they offer a huge variety of food, ranging from prata/ thosai to mee goreng and nasi goreng. The portions for the rice and noodles are also huge for the prices that my seem expensive initially....Well, wait until the see the size!!

The prata is called 'crispy prata' here and its dubbed the original crispy prata by most locals. Honestly, I must say the prata isn't really my thing. It's more crispy than fluffy and it just seems like it lacks substance after awhile. The plain prata is 90c per piece and its quite a small prata. Hmm, I would very much rather the original prata though. (Still on my quest for the perfect prata!!) The curry is definitely something to go back for. It's thick enough and packs enough flavour. Not too spicy so it can be eaten on its own -its a perfect complement to the prata. Wonderful!

Overall, I wouldn't really recommend this place to my friends but to each his own. For supper its a great place, but I don't feel that the prata is something to shout out. Im pretty sure it's just me because I like my prata the original style. Would definitely try the mee goreng, nasi goreng and maggie goreng though. Looks super!

I'm not sure The Pratas here is the one of the best in Singapore but can take it try if you haven't try it...
